Yes, but people are mixed about his new form. In my thinking, Gohan's new form is the next level of his Ultimate form it's kind of the same when you first go UI and then master UI.

Looper, you do know that the Dragon Ball franchise has moved past world breaking power during the Saiyan Saga. Goku is a universe breaker. Battle of the Gods confirmed this when Goku first turned SSG. He and Vegeta has gotten way WAY stronger since.
Also, Gohan deserves better than a handout.
this was actually one of my main complaints about the direction of db franchise, to me gohan was always meant to be a bigger character and for some reason they benched him for the longest time. its hard to balance the two characters and i get that, but gohan just inexplicably became a weakling and it just urked me. glad to see hes back, curious to see where he will go from here
Thats because fans during the original dbz run didnt like that the show was moving on from gokus story and into Gohans so the creator changed his plans and brought goku back

Just saw this today with my son and youngest daughter and to finally see Piccolo and Gohan get their due was incredible. Been watching this since I was a baby because my brother was 5 years older than me and I was born on 89'. I literally felt the hair raise on my entire body when Gohan finally snaps and becomes what I call Gohan God form. There's something about Gohans demeanor that when he loses his shit that stands out so much more than the others. I can wait to see how Goku and Vegeta react to their new forms

Gohan was content with his saying traits, his mother however wanted him to be smart and not like Goku that trains and fights. I just wonder though if GT(not the best), was a paradigm of another universe, it seems like the arc again has been rewritten, Gohan was stronger than Goku, heart and soul, the intro scene chasing butterflies and befriend Piccolo.
Funny thing about that is, someone wrote in a Dokkan Battle OST video about Gohan "Beware the wrath of a gentle soul." or something along those lines. Gohan's switch flipping is something that fans wanted to see for years now, and let's face it, Gohan becomes an absolute savage when he gets angry.
Dbz at this point has successfully perfectly and not overbearingly executed everyone’s dream fights, rematches,crossovers etc over and over again
they finally listened… but also great timing, there’s enough age groups that can watch it w the same enthusiasm as one another…. it’s great !

I’ve always liked Gohan, he’s too Human to be a saiyan but too saiyan to just be human. It makes this weird balance that allows him to fade in and out of the two types of characters DB has, relatable and fighters. Toei has been trying to make goku silly and kind of give him a little slice of life aspect but the thing about goku is that he doesn’t have a normal life. Goku was pushing boulders as a child. Gohan has that spark that Toei has been dimming with goku since super started.

I love the ssj 2 teen gohan omage of his “breaking point” an absolute beast. Also gohan kept his word to goku about transcending his power in a way no Saiyan has ever seen!! 👏 this movie was epic!
This movie gives justice to Gohan and what he strived for in the original series(Buu saga), Gohan said in one of the episodes, he wanted to obtain and achieve a singular strong "perfect" form without the need of transforming through SSJ 1, 2, 3 ect. Although this new form is still a powerup, but with a lot of magnitude to shake other universes.

I like that Gohan is striving to be something different than a straight fighter. They implied he is training occasionally on his own with a unique set of goals. Training smarter rather than harder. I like that he's trying to better himself more so in mind and knowledge rather than instinct or whatever else Goku/Vegeta focus on, though in the movie it showed he's still aloof and not street smart. Anyways, I'd like to see Gohan get more screen time and exploration of his unique journey, Piccolo too! My favorites of Dragon Ball.

Just saw the movie it was pretty dope. The art style is refreshing. My first time watching in the cinemas. I grew up on DB back in 92. Now as an adult it feels great seeing one of your favourite cartoons/animes still being popular and still being relevant.
The power scaling is interesting, now that Gohan has his new form. Its gonna be insane when we see Goku Vegeta Broly and Gohan training together and in battles together.
It will be interesting to see if and when Goku and Vegeta get to see and react to this new ascension
By finding a new one so they can write more episodes, then a new transformation to make a new one then ascend to a new one so we can never run out of episodes to keep fan boys watching.

Gohan unlocking a new form makes since to me. SSJ transformations in the series are usually unlocked when the character in question is pushed to the limits of their respective emotional, behavioral, and moral limits.
Goku - free spirited rarely takes life personal, always willing to extend grace even to enemies
SSJ trigger - Angry his friend died, angry at his weakness, inability to save anyone, wanted to beat Freeza at all cost
Vageta - prideful, believe in his own strength above all else, despite being the de facto king of the saying is still constantly second best.
SSJ trigger - He lets everything he has been holding on to for years, pride anger, weakness, trauma, letting everything go and allowing himself to be vulnerable
Exactly, I have a theory based around this.
*My theory* is Saiyan power is *strongly* derived from *emotions* that trigger their Saiyan Instincts. *(Ultra Ego for Vegeta.)*
We’ve seen Super Saiyan unlocked by a triggered emotion. This also proves why U6 Saiyans have more potential, because they are more emotional. Probably why Human hybrid Saiyans have more potential than full Saiyans, because Humans are instinctively more emotional. Saiyans are instinctively physical. *(Bulma is proof of a Human having a strong emotional impact on someone like Vegeta.)* Then having a mixture of both probably enhances both blood and instincts into an evolved hybrid. Hence the statement that Hybrid Saiyans have more potential than Full Saiyans, including Broly.
Broly has a busted emotional trigger(berserk) that’s out of control and that’s why he grows at a busted pace. But like I said, out of control. god Ki needs to be controlled. And he loses huge outbursts of power. Also Broly is never on par with Gogeta Blue, that was to stop him because he was causing too much destruction. Gohan being a Hybrid Saiyan has more potential than Broly, I’ve already explained how Broly has a weakness and how Hybrid Saiyans have more potential.
Gohan being born with a Saiyan tail is a *special important fact.* As a Hybrid Saiyan, that’s what separates Gohan from Trunks and Goten. Also going Great Ape, he unlocked that *’beast’* that Trunks and Goten don’t know. Then having his Full Potential unlocked by different methods, and at such a young age(yes wasted potential.)
Toriyama said that Beast Gohan is him finally letting the beast inside him loose. The beast inside he tried holding back against Cell. Because Gohan would’ve been an uncontrollable beast, basically like Broly’s Berserker form. Unlocking his Beast form against Cell Max is a homage to that. Except Gohan has now learned to control that Beast, by embracing both his Human side and Saiyan side. *(Yin and Yang)* Gohan is a genius of the mind and body and embodies the *•Perfect Balanced Warrior•* that’s why Gohan is the Saiyan Beerus was so interested in. Also why the Oracle fish see’s and says *“The Universe’s Strongest Warrior will soon rise.”* Because since the TOP training arc, Gohan’s *’new goal’* has been to train to control that beast and finally embrace who he is. This is why Gohan has the most potential.
From being a Saiyan, Gohan has such a beastly side(oozaroo) inside of him continuously growing(cause saiyans are always growing.) and that’s why he tries to embrace his Human side more.
Gohan was always *forced to fight* because he was always needed. That caused him to go through lots of *young traumatic moments* seeing people he cared for continuously in danger and hurt. Always having his mom worried when she always cared about him. Gohan wanted a more peaceful life to his chaotic side. *(Yin and Yang)* That’s why Gohan wanted to embrace his Human side more… Beast Gohan is Gohan finally accepting his Saiyan battle instincts and emotions…
First off I’m gonna disagree that this form Gohan achieved makes him stronger than Goku. We simply don’t know that, Goku wasn’t there so we don’t know how he or Vegeta would have held up against Cell Max or even possibly how easily they would have beaten him. I’m glad they are starting to show Gohan some love again but the story telling in the modern Dragon Ball is just garbage. They literally had Gohan hiding out in his office the whole movie studying ants… then without any training or anything gets right back to his peak form within minutes and then surpasses it without any real logical reason. They try to hard to go the nostalgic route with him seeing Piccolo getting destroyed and him having the same exact emotional tipping point and power up as he did against the original cell. The stakes just simply weren’t high enough in this moment to have the same effect Gohan has seen Piccolo get his ass kicked a number of times even die. I know it’s a movie so time is limited but they could have at least attempted to include Gohan in the movie throughout the movie to give that impression that was he’s achieving is earned rather than just given to him by lazy writing and an apparent need to cater to the Gohan fanboys.
Beast Gohan might actually morph into super saiyan 5 Gohan and make super saiyan 5 canon.
I'm here because my friends notified me about this news. I haven't seen DBZ in 15 years this is up there with Ash becoming champion. Gohan was such a wasted potential, I'm glad the prodigal son has returned!
I'd just like to have an explanation what this form is about. I know, there's limited logic in new forms. But 1-3 are just about hidden powers, "potential unleashed" is just a magical power up that brings all hidden powers without transforming, "god" is another kind of Ki-usage, more calm...God ki and stuff. Ultra instinct was explained in detail by whis. It's clear that Gohans new form comes from rage again und piccolo's form was given by shenron. But I'd like to hear more how they are described and how they work in future.

The 1st clue about Gohan's power, was when he was a kid and was kidnapped by Radditz.
Gohan was in Radditz transport pod, and Gohan broke out of it. That transport pod can withstand atmosphere entry and crash impacts. But kid Gohan broke through it like paper and hit Radditz just as hard as Goku or Piccolo.

So much to love about this movie. Gohan really attained a new transformation with no prior training straight off his studies. Plus he only threw one kick and on top of it released the strongest special beam cannon ever. Man was it epic. I’m sorry to those who don’t want it spoiled. It goes to show we have seen nowhere near gohan’s true power. I just hope he’s not as arrogant in this form as he was in the cell games with ssj2

I take issue with the scene where Dende tells Piccolo he could just wish the Red Ribbon army was gone, and Piccolo grumbles as Dende says "I suppose that would hurt your pride though ".

My headcannon is that he figured out how to combo ssj and his ultimate form by seeing his best friend in danger just like Goku did on namek. So it's basically ultimate super Saiyan.

I don't think Gohan Beast in its current state is beyond Ultra Instinct, Ultra Ego, or Black Frieza, simply because Gohan doesn't know how to access divine ki, or the serious speeds and powers they have provided. I have a hard time believing he can currently match Super Saiyan God or Blue. It would be more believable if he trained with the other 3 Saiyans with Whis. Remember, he lost the form after the fight was over, as did Piccolo. They both looked confused when they powered down to base forms. Gohan was able to rise to the occasion this time, but he better keep up his training, otherwise he'll be reduced to a seriously pathetic state like he was in Resurrection F and even before that during the early Buu arc. A powerful new form won't be able to take on a character like Jiren or another fighter with outrageous power, control, and experience.

@@Neejay Yeah seriously. Goku and Jiren are two fighters who trained their entire lives, never stopped, and reached levels beyond God of Destruction, which is no joke and no small feat. Gohan has blown off decades of training. At this point his only redemption would be to pull a Frieza and go into a hyperbolic time chamber like he did for 10 days to get 10 years of training to make up for his years after the Cell games, after the Buu arc, and what got him into such a pitiful state in the Resurrection F arc that he was skinny as a rail and could only sustain the original Super Saiyan for like a minute or less against Tagoma and Frieza in his weakest form.

Hey, remember all of those other worldly battles against Godlike monsters that Vegeta and Goku have fought? Yeah, Gohan only needs androids to match that. Instead of using his intellect and power to help Bulma make the z fighters strong enough to fend for themselves, Gohan gets random power ups from chilling for too long.

If you actually watch the movie..Gohan hints that he’s been training low key. Gohan uses the special beam canon to defeat Cell Max. Piccolo than asks him how he learned that if he never thought it to him meaning Gohan.
@@chaotic2insanity Gohan has always done minimal training, it's what the Great Saiyaman was for. He also learned special beam cannon a while back, the same way Goku learned tenshinhans, and krillins moves. But he's only been training on earth.
@@taraishot100 He retained the ultimate Gohan which was meant to be easier to maintain than the super Saiyan form that he worked years to hone. That would be muscle memory. He also struggled quite a bit against the lower class warriors in the tournament of power arc, only surviving off of his intellect, which I wish they would focus more on if they are going to continue making him into a pacifist that is forced to fight.

I still think Broly is by far the strongest saiyan. He was able to hold his own against goku and vegeta in their ss blue forms and he was in his base form the majority of the time. Then when he finally went ss 1, they had to Fuze and go ss blue again just to bring him down. If broly ever unlocked ss blue form, he would be damn near unstoppable!

I think that meant that gohan also wouldn’t have been able to beat cell max. Also let’s not forget that even beerus was scared to see Broly on his planet. Now I do want to say that piccolo says gohan can become the strongest “in this planet” not the universe. Goku and Vegeta are at universal power levels.

Here is the problem that I have this form. During the TOurnament of Power Gohan was the first one to go SS2 but e tone else was able to achieve this as well with training/rage. Since Gohan was able to tap into this power just because he was mad I also assume any other sayian can do the exact same. Making this transformation not too special. sure anyone can go SSG with the ritual but not everyone can go SSB. Especially SSBE. So when I look at this form, though I think it’s really cool, I think we need more explanation towards it/see it in action more
SSBE is exclusive to vegeta goku can’t do that either and this from although it comes from rage it’s exclusive to gohan because since his early childhood he got a crazy spike in power every times he raged this is his rage all unleashed
@@sixstrz8310 ssbe Can be attained by goku too. Ssbe is the same as that súper vegeta form from the cell Saga when goku showed it to gohan
I would say it has a lot to do with Gohan being a hybrid. Hence why Trunks and Goten were able to achieve SS without much effort. Hybrids have massive potential in this universe.

The main thing I liked was the Goku/Vegeta comparison and that compassion trumps ego. He was always behind and went years without addressing his royal/entitled daddy issues

Gohan was able to tap into more power because he is half human. Humans have deep emotions. Love is always the most powerful weapon and when his daughter Pan is taken, that would be enough for any parent to lose it! Seeing his best friend/mentor Piccolo die as well. No wonder! I felt that one.
Gohan has also been studying and become extremely smart as an adult. So smart that Goku made him team leader for the Universe tournament for his tactical ability and quick thinking. Combine being smart with the potential to be an amazing fighter, he could surpass Goku and Vegeta.
Lets see what happens when Black Frieza confronts Zeno and the Angels!!

He can, it just takes a lot out of him even now. He's actually in the process of working on a more... I guess dilluted UI? A UI that keeps a lot of the "can't touch this" while allowing Goku to tap into his emotions, aka power.

They cant keep the hair color consistency throughout the different series. I love Dragon Ball Z. It was a great show featuring 3 levels of super saiyan transformations that were of consistent yellow hair color. Dragon ball Super then came with red, blue, rose (goku black) and white (ultra instinct) hair transformations. And now the movie again introduced a new hair color for gohan. I mean seriously can you think beyond colors for a moment. By the next series we will have al the specturms :- green, pink, purple, etc

I love gohan as a character and it’s well stated that he has the potential to be stronger than anyone in the 7th universe but remember sayains get stronger with each battle and it hasn’t been proven that gohans new power up will be stronger than goku and we also know that goku hasn’t unlocked all of aui and you know that the next one to get a tremendous power up will be vegita effectively making the three destroyer level once they master there new powers individually but I have a feeling we’ll see more of the other universes their angels and destroyers

Honestly super is so sloppy with character names, forms & move set. They are really milking what they can do with Super as a franchise. Should of kept it Great Ape >> SSJ3 & maybe cheeky SSJ4. God mode was a meh moment for me but it was cool but not mind blowing… All these new forms for Gohan & Piccolo is just dumb + the names…. ChiChi wanted Gohan to Study to be a scholar, should of kept him as that (After Cell Games) no more training OR Gohan continued his training after Goku’s death.

Imo it’s more down to earth. I didn’t mind SJJG (Red) but the blue nonsense, ultra instant was lame as hell. Like WTF SSJ2 Kefla against god Goku is mad unrealistic. The training scenes shows little effort & no determination to get stronger in a serious way. It’s too childish. I love the man but Toriyama is so forgetful. For example Hell back in the BUU saga was Hell… in Super it looks like heaven & has the love vibes of Universe 2. Lastly Trunks’s hair change is a shambles.

On the topic of Gohan being the "strongest" with his nee form would he be able to hold his own against Berus or even Wīse at this point because if he cannot then that only shows that he himself still has a very long ways to go before reaching that strength and skill level that goku, vegeta, berus and Wīse have.

My point is that gohan doesn't have nearly enough experience to be considered "the strongest" in the dragon ball universe, and training with Piccolo will only hinder his overall growth, if he were to train with Piccolo and have others like goku, future Trunks, vegeta, or even Boo, and train none stop against them, every single day, it still wouldn't amount to the experience that goku and vegeta themselves have, I'm a gohan fan I don't wanna sound like I'm trashing on Gohan, but it feels more like them saying "he's the strongest" is just giving the fans what they want without watching him grow and develop into that power.
Which is why I brought up the concept of would he beable to hold his own against those plausible odds. All in all it seems we have some agreement that no, gohan is still lacking in power to hold a candle to them.

That's wrong. Gohan has always had to train. He trained for a year in the hyperbolic time chamber 1 year with Goku and still had to be pushed to go SSJ2. Adult Gohan can go SSJ2 but still got his ass whooped by Dabura. He trained with the Z sword and had to get special help from a Kai to get Ultimate form. Then he fell off completely and DBS went from Gohan super weak SSJ1 to a little training he went back to Ultimate. Which is bs. Gohan has always needed some amount of training. Not just all of the sudden he's angry and bam. Stronger than everyone. That craps on Goku and Vegeta getting special training from literal Gods. This is just fan feeding Gohan after constant neglection from Toriyama.

The key ingredient being… Gohan is a human Sayian hybrid. Therefore logically cannot tap into the totally pure forms of full blooded Sayians. I want to say this is the result of when a human sayian hybrid tries to enter SUPER SAYIAN 3 but yielding different result. An imperfect SS3 if you will but with a hint of the mystic Gohan’s specific aura.
I know what you’re about to say, gotten and trunks go SS3 when fused. They are only able to do this while fused which makes me think the fusion works as a hack to bypass the limits of half Sayian blood. Despite gotens and trunks fusion and going SS3, I don’t think it’s actually possible for half sayians to reach the signature SS3 form on their own powers alone, that’s why we are getting these wildcard forms from half sayians like future trunks and gohan.
Just looking at the fact that neither trunks or gohan had ever reached SS3. Gohans hair grows out to be super long in this new gray form and his eyes resemble ss3 by having a black pupil, the lightning is similar to SS3 and 2 forms, then his demeanor changes a little bit like ss3 goku’s.
Broly is the only Sayian for that matter that can go into the true pure blooded Sayian form other than Khalifa. Which leads backs my theory that all other Sayian forms are “false forms” and attempts at reaching the original perfect Sayian form. Human blood has a similar effect.
I also think it may have something to do with the fact that both Goku and vegeta lost their tails. Broly still has his. The Ozaru power resides in the tail and maybe the only way to enter the true super sayian form is by having a tail.
I love seeing new transformations but ever since dbz I feel the meaning/feeling has never been the same. Transformations used to mean something back in the day. They didn't come easily and there were no cheap tricks to them. For example, characters now days are able to level up their power dramatically like frieza in 'resurrection F movie' gainning a huge power level boost becoz the writers deemed frieza had never trained a day in his life and all of a sudden he was able to go from a power level of around 1mill (on namek) to instantly rivaling goku and vegeta super sayian blue...
I feel its missing the bad ass rock music from dbz and the emotion... when characters used to train, fight, power up for example, u felt all the emotion of why they were doing what they are doing. Eg, vegetas final flash against cell... now days, they skip a lot of that build up (foreplay) and go straight into the action bit it lacks that connection with the characters like in dbz.now days they rely on special, fancy looking scenes but thats not what made dbz relied on. What do I guys think?

There needs to be an arc where Gohan completely resents Goku because he's always been an absent, deadbeat dad. Piccolo basically raised him and you can tell it's a residual effect of repressed trauma for Gohan as Piccolo is training his daughter. Clearly Gohan clearly isn't as negligent as Goku is but he has definitely neglected his martial arts training, warrior's way, and skirted responsible as a father and husband at times in pursuit of academia.
He neglected training but made time to master the “special beam cannon” almost brought a tear to my eyes Gohan is so damn cool

Mystic Gohan stood up against SSB until Goku used KaioKen, Id say this form is at a minimum the same level aa goku with ssb kaio ken, if not ultra instinct level and beyond.

I was kinda torn on how Gohan got to his new power. Piccolo didn't die, he just got his but kicked... Gohan usually only goes from 0-100 when someone basically dies.. When he went off on Vegeta and Nappa, it was cause Piccolo died sacrificing himself.
When he went off on Frieza it was because he put his horns through Krillin until he was basically perceived to be dead and we all know why we he went SSJ 2. Of course for Mystic mode and when he went SSJ the first time they were the only times something tragic didn't have to happen for him to reach a new level. But I feel for the power level he ascended too something more tragic should have happened to him. Like Max Cell attacking and Killing Pan or seriously injuring her..

Wow this is incredible. Now I really can’t wait to see what’s next for Broly Goten & Trunks. Being that Goten and Trunks are also Hybrid they have so much untapped power and emotion. Gohan and Broly might end up being the strongest when it’s all said and done.

Got ssj2 as a teen, took a 7 year hiatus, came back with a form immediately that can rival ultra instinct/ego, imagine what could goten and trunks achieve whom which made ssj3 like a childs play. Vegeta is right all along its a super saiyan bargain sale.
I'm so glad to see Gohan getting some love again. I hope they do continue the DB Super series after the tournament of power and release dubbed versions ASAP. I would love to see Gohan's new form against Goku using ultra instinct.
I also appreciate the fact they have started diverging from each other rather than Goku achieving a new form and then everyone else does it soon after. I can't wait to see what comes to Vegeta thanks to the training on Yardrat.
I remember in Dragonballz when Gohan perfected ssj2 said Half saiyan and earthling can evolved faster. Having half saiyan proves Gohan has no limit in power and being half earthling allows him to advance faster unlike vegeta and goku who needs harsh training to evolved. Unless your a legendary saiyan like Broly who only needs to fight to get stronger. Gohan got the most potential. Remember Teen Gohan surpassed Goku and vegeta alone when it comes to saiyan forms. If Gohan can tapped into God ki or get his own power up like when he train with Supreme Kai he be deadly.
Since I was a kid I always knew that Gohan's power levels are much higher that Goku's or Vegeta's. Dude went SSJ2 to absolutely decimate cell when he was 14. FOURTEEN. Even in super when he sparred Goku, it took Goku his Super Saiyan God AND Kaioken forms together to beat Gohan. I'm just waiting for the day when Gohan truly dedicated himself to training the way Goku does. Because when that happens, we have a new most powerful character in DB

BROLY at same level transformation would own any saiyans at their own level transformations. Goku even said that Broly may have the same power level as Beerus the world destroyer. Now that they introduced Broly on the good side, you'll soon find out his power.
