Barkeepers Friend comes in a liquid in a bottle, which I find easier to use in general. Paper towel works better for me than tissue, since it’s a little rougher. I’m grateful I caught your cleaning tip in one of the first videos of yours I washed! Thanks for the extra tips like cleaning the back of the spoon!

Hi Katrina, thank you for your wonderful ideas for cleaning my wax spoon. I can also add something I have just tried, on a very stubborn wax spoon, a few drops of isopropyl. Obviously nowhere near the flame as its alcohol but it cleaned stubborn wax off completely 😊
Brasso is a liquid brass cleaner as well as polish. Thanks for the tips, my Custom Mark looks great on my cards for Christmas 2023. My first few tries were not that great but now they look great. Thanks.
Thank you for the tip! I’ll give Brasso a try. Glad you figured it out! Takes a few pours and then it’s pretty smooth sailing and so fun and addicting!
You’re probably pouring your wax too high, causing it to cool at different rates. You can see in this video (at about 9min) how I recommend pouring: m.ruclips.net/video/Mz7tLgrAQG4/видео.html If you’re using a spoon, try to “slide” it off like you’re transferring a fried egg to a plate. You can see an example of that on the same video at about 12:30

Great to know-I’m definitely going to try the liquid version next time! I always feel like the powder gets into the air, and I don’t love that 😬

Thank you for the tip. I just bought a wax sealing kit with the spoon and had no idea how I was going to clean it.
Glad I could help! It’s really not as hard as we make it out to be ❤️
@@katrinacrouch i got my starter set two days ago and I am hooked! Its so fun!

Oh that’s such a good idea! I’ll give it a try-thank you for the suggestion ❤️

Thank you for this!
My pleasure! So glad it was helpful
My spoons thank you!!! They look like new. I appreciate you sharing your tips. Thanks
It’s amazing what clean and polished supplies will do to your creative energy! So glad it helped ❤️
Very informative, thank you. But at 0:50 I think you mean you don't want the flame to touch the spoon, right? Not touch the candle.
Yes, though you probably shouldn’t touch the candle either, hah!
Sort of off topic but I couldnt find an answer....my seals end up having "rings" in the wax, What am I doing wrong?

Can you please let me know where I can purchase one of these spoons? Many thanks in advance x
Yes! It should be linked in the description but here it is: bit.ly/3u7l9NG sorry about that ❤️
I tried doing the same method but with water on the tissue instead. It cools it off gently and also kinda wipes it away but also might dry the wax
Also using a cotton tip to get more detail on the streaks when cleaning and the little pouring bit if you have that
Great tip, thank you!
Has anyone tried washing the little protective glove the spoon comes with? My daughter covered mine, in wax and it's irritating me like crazy! 🙃
Oh no! Getting wax out of fabric is hard. You can try a paper towel and a hot iron on top to re-melt and absorb the wax? I would try that first anyway
@@katrinacrouchGood call - thank you! It’s silly, but it irks me 🙃
Oh, it would drive me bananas too! Hahaha
Your hands are beautiful!
Haha, well thank you! I can honestly say I have never had that compliment
