    Hi crafty friends! Do you love wax seals but hate the soot when using a candle to melt your wax beads? Me, too! But I recently discovered a neat wax bead candle warmer that takes the soot out of the whole process. Now I’m hooked! Let me know if wax seals are part of your crafting journey. I have so many made now, I’ll have them ready to put on cards or envelopes. Thanks for stopping by! ♥️

    Back in the 70s, I bought a small stamp and some wax. I was told to put the stamp part in my mouth while the wax melted. Doing this would prevent the stamp from sticking. I always did that and never had any problems with the stamp sticking to the wax. I like the idea of the ice pack, especially with the stamps that are much bigger than the stamp I used as a teen. I loved using my wax stamp, but finding the wax was increasingly difficult. I'm glad to see wax stamps are popular again. I may take it up as a hobby.

    Wax Seals are some of my favorite elements of card making! They're the cherry on top! I first saw them in Victoria magazine in the 90s, but I finally bought my first set in 2021. They're so satisfying.
    Using the seals on the cards was a beautiful idea, Kathya. I've only used them on envelopes, so far.
    You have a talent for making uncomplicated, but very beautiful cards. I don't have patience for a whole lot of stamping, inking, and intricate die cuts. I always return to your channel to learn less-expensive paths to lovely cards.
    The ice pack was a brilliant addition to the technique! I haven't had problems with wax sticking to my stamps, but I DID NOT want to have a bowl of ice water anywhere near my paper crafting supplies, if I ever did. This is a much more contained option. I can use it in a food storage container, with a towel underneath.
    And thank you for testing out the wax melter. It has been appearing in my Amazon suggestions, but I've been uncertain. You've given me the information (and link) I needed to make an informed purchase.
    I went to your website as requested, but didn't see this project there. I'm very interested in the small dies you used for the focal points. May I ask what they are, and if you have an affiliate link for them?

    • @KathyaKalinine
      @KathyaKalinine  Год назад +2

      Hi Vania! I love your name, by the way! Thanks for your lovely message! ♥️ The two dies I used to create the focal point (circle and square) are from an older die set and no longer available. I didn’t put more pictures of these cards or links to them on my website because I don’t use tools that some other crafters use like LinkDeli, due to the cost. I’m so sorry if I didn’t mention those dies in my video or where to find them. 😔 Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment. I appreciate you! Have an awesome day! ♥️

      Hi Susan! Indeed it is a die cut. I used gold card stock I had on my stash. I used strong double sided tape, I think, to adhere it to the card stock. You can also use hot glue to adhere your wax seals. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching, too! 🥰

      @@susancannon3186 I was terrible about not saving packaging when I first started this craft, so I don’t remember the round dies. If it helps, you could take a smaller die, center it and then run a stylus around it to get that embossed look. I think my circle dies are from Lifestyle Crafts, but I bought them a thousand years ago, so I could be wrong on that. You could also use a smaller round die (after cutting the larger one), center it and then dry emboss it, too. Thank you for the sweet compliment! 🥰
