My Daughter bought me a wax seal kit from Samyo, and gave it to me for Christmas. I am just now getting around to using it. I practiced on a few things: Wood, Paper, and Metal. The first few attempts my wax was running away from me, which had me laughing after the second run and confusion, when I found I had been working on an unlevel surface. It's level now. I really appreciate the time you took to make and share these pieces of content to help others work toward perfecting their ideal seals (

I loved this. I'm brand, brand new to wax sealing - as in I've literally just bought a starter kit this week. I'd love to perfect the perfect circle! Thank you for the tips.
This was so great!! My mom and I did wax sealing in the 70’s for our Christmas cards and then when I got married in the early 90’s I did for my invites as well!! I’m excited to try with a glue gun!! I’m looking forward to cking out the rest of your channel!!

Just found out about wax seal, and i'm true in love with it. I am from Brazil, here is very expensive, so i'm going to buy from China, hope they have good stuff Thanks for the tips, i'm already following you, and will watch more videos
Thank you for your tips. Just started this new craft and my seals are too big or bubbles. This video helped me to know what to do. Thank you forvsharing.❤
Oh I love 3D stamps! You’ll love it-they’re extra fun. If you are new to wax seals, this video has some of my very favorite tips: m.ruclips.net/video/WCWlThQTJs0/видео.html
I've seen round and other shaped silicon molds for wax seals. Haven't tried them but they definitely would make the edges uniform. Only drawback I can see is the need to use adhesive to attach the seals to the final envelope or page.
Thank you so much for all those amazing tips to make our wax seals perfectly round, specially when using wax seals gun! I’d never realised before that we can turn off the gun from time to time, even if I choose to switch to low temperature. Brilliant! But one doubt is still in my mind. What should be the technique when we’re making square, oval, or even more complex shaped stamps seals? I loooove your approach! ❤ Love from Brasil.
Oh I’m so glad this was helpful! For ovals, you pour similar but you slowly pull your pouring device down a little bit until you form an elongated “puddle”. It takes a bit of trial and error because it isn’t as exact but pretty quick to master ❤️ Squares: unless you have a wax seal “border” (I have a video on these coming soon), you will always have a slightly irregular look because you are mixing geometric and organic shapes-which I think is part of the charm of square stampers! You can try a slow “zig-zag” style pour to get more of a square edge (but then you get the ripples in your wax, which I personally dislike), or you can pour a slightly bigger circle and enjoy the thinner edges at the corners that highlight the unique qualities of your stamper
If you’re using a standard 1” stamper, I would estimate 6 sticks to get about 50 wax seals. BUT. It depends on the brand and size of the stamper. Artisaire has a handy calculator on on the listing pages for their wax (just scroll down a little) that can help take the guess work out for you ❤️
I’ve heard you mention your own designs in brass stamps. Have you done a video about that process? I am also an artist and would love to create some original 3-D brass stamps. Grateful for any help you can give!
I make my designs through Artisaire! I’ve been working with them as an official partner for several years, though I used them for clients before then. They are not currently making new 3D stampers (only current designs) though I’m hoping to talk them into creating more here soon! Hah If they open that back up, I’ll make a dedicated video for you ❤️ here’s hoping!
Hi! I haven’t personally used one and don’t personally recommend anything I haven’t used. Also, those are designed for candle wax-unless you are talking about something I’m not familiar with-which would be difficult to clean and not very easy to pour small amounts accurately with sealing wax.
I am a newbie here would love to start doing some wax seals. Where can these be purchased. I know that Hobby lobby sells them but I feel like they might be on the cheaper side and not create a beautiful project like I’m seeing you make. Any guidance would be great.
I prefer to use Artisaire. I have used them for years (even before we worked together) and really haven’t found a wax that is of higher quality! artisaire.com/?rfsn=6672964.29c0074
Love your video, making wax seals and can’t seem to stop getting ripples in the seal? Can you please help, been trying poor slower, wax cooler, hotter etc. thank you.
Pour super close to the surface! Like, have the glue gun/spoon be almost “in” the wax itself. The higher the pour, the more ripples it creates because the wax is cooling at different times
Hello love your videos, I was wondering if you could suggest a good website were to buy cards and letters with many different colours, like the ones you use
Hello! I have used “Cards and Pockets” a lot in the past. They have a wholesale account too which can be helpful if you’re selling. A simple google search should help you find a paper mill if you need something local to you.
Understandable question! I answer it in many of my other videos, but there are a few ways to use them! I get professional grade adhesive stickers and then place them directly on the envelope, but you can also place down a small dot of wax on your envelope and then place the finished seal down on top ☺
Couple of quick questions- any brands of wax and stamps or wax seal stamp kits you recommend over others? How do you adhere prepared stamps? I've never had success with glue guns- using glue or otherwise lol I'm sure its user error any glue gun recommendations for wax stamping?
It’s a silicone mat! You can probably find some on Amazon but I purchased this one through my friend (she has some fantastic stamper designs too!): paperocelot.com/collections/waxsealaccessories/products/stamper-mat
@katrinacrouch I didn't know what I was doing when I purchased my wax and I have a lot of beautiful wax sticks with the wick. Every time I use them the wax sort of chars just before it drips. It ends up discoloring the wax in an unpleasant way. Do you have any sort of advice for troubleshooting this?
Ugh, I’m so sorry, darling. The best thing to do is to keep the flame slightly pointed up. This way it doesn’t burn the wax. It’s a little harder to aim the wax this way but you will get the hang of it. Let me know if that helps or if you run into another problem. I’ll try to make a tutorial for this style of wax soon that will show more details!!
My wax seals have bubbles but not so noticeable as seen in the video. They are smaller and not so noticeable. I admit my wax spoon can get too close the flame, but the bubbles form while the wax is still melting. I suppose bubbles are welcome if you have a mermaid stamp When it comes time to check if the wax seal is hard, I usually use the waiting time to clean the wax spoon, then I check the edges of the stamp to see if it is hard before lifting the stamp.
Maybe you feel that way because paper is more “permanent”? Less of a likelihood that you can do it over if you mess up? Practice helps a lot-you’ll be full of confidence in no time ❤️

How are people who advertise wax seal stamps with a couple's initials on doing that. I seem to be spending a fortune buying from third parties instead of either going to the source or having a machine to do my own.
A custom wax seal is certainly going to be a little more, as you can imagine, but you can either make ahead and use a sticker or order them premade! For my brides I typically would order the design premade but purchase the stamper as a gift. You can find some semi-custom designs here: artisaire.com/collections/wedding-wax-stamps/the-secret-garden

good advice, especially about the temperature, most of my stamps are 2" to 3" inch diameter so I have to use a single burner on low to heat up that amount of wax & keep the seal on top a bag of ice. to hot can really mess up the stamp as well as the seal.
@@katrinacrouch they are a little tricky at first, just keep your temps low like you were already saying and lay the stamp on ice bag, the are really cool to do, I have many custom seals, one almost 4 inch.

Is it possible to add scent to a seal?
For example by adding a few drops of scented oil in the spoon?
Could be fun to experiment with! I definitely wouldn’t add more than one drop or you will definitely begin to compromise the integrity of the wax
