Right!! I thought so :-) Thanks so much man 🤟🙌🕺💥❤️
Both of you guys are AMAZING! Great job!
I like this want to get my hands on one see what filthy noize i can get out of it
Nice job! Makes me want to tear open my old C64 :)
LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER Can’t wait to see your cv controlled version Sam... Will you solder in some home-made vactrols?
It's so cool to see all these good youtubers working together!!
Literally just camw from Look Mum No Computer when he said "chances are by the time you see this Doctor Mix will have a video on this too"😂
A polyphonic C64 synth! That is beyond amazing.
You have such a great positive vibe on your channel... I can feel the GOOD VIBRATIONS all the way across the Atlantic ocean ! I love the collaborations too. C64 forever... IBM never.
Italian entusiasm :D Thanks for cheering me up.The SID chip is what got me hooked on the C64 the very first time I ever saw 'Commando' running on a monochrome screen with that awesome Rub Hubbard soundtrack blasting out in the room.
So cool!!!!! that 808 sounded amazing with it
"WHOOOOOOOA!" 6:59 So much fun to watch the set-up process. I love this C64 Synth project!
This amazing, i remember playing games on the c64 when i was a kid in the 80's, now after this Video i am listining since hours to c64 music, i got tears in my eyes about the lovely time i had in the 80's.
The music of commando is just amazing. So excited to see what you will do with that beautiful machine. Keep the good work.
Love and respect from germany
The C64 "Ocean loaders" music tracks are absolute classics and were usually far better than the games themselves.
❤️
amazing series.
Always exited when the notification goes up!
Like SAM and YOU (Claudio) - you are audio and midi heros. THX alot for show your work. AWESOME. Greating from GERMANY
My Dad and my Grandpa were in the Navy! I'm pretty sure my dad will enjoy that. He especially liked the Commodore 64. I've played that song (Anchors Away) to him on the piano. What sucks is that I can't get piano lessons because of this QUARANTINE. But I have been teaching myself pretty well. I only know the bass clef (I'm a trombone player). Chances are you won't see this comment. But you're a huge inspiration for me. I eventually want to get something like the Jupiter-80, Prophet 5 or Juno 106/60/6. But there SUPER expensive. And we have to provide for 6 people but were moving into a new house that's got all 6 of us a bedroom (My dad got married to my stepmom last august). My parents LUCKILY have essential jobs (Dads a firefighter, Stepmoms an anesthesiologist or something like that) But thank you for putting in the work you do. I've learned a lot of synthesis from you and Dom.
You guys are mad! Brilliant stuff!
Awesome......not only was the c64 an absolutely beautiful machine in its day....even in the current day it’s still amazing!!!.....great channel and great video....thank you very much!
I can not wait for the next Track from Dr.Mix called "Blow it Up" Cool Songtitle!
Hahahah!! Good idea!!
That round crt is adorable!
Super cool. You sure made the video really quick. Have fun with your C64 synth.
outstanding video, great team work! enormous creativity! cheers from Brazil!
OMG how did I miss this video in my sub feed :) Great colab.
Oh my have been waiting for this for a while
Oh yeah, the Moogmodore Model D64 is working :-D
Hahahah YEAH!! That’s a name
@@Doctormix :-D
Or it could be the ComMoogDore D64;-)
@@AutodafeSynths That's exactely the other name I thought :-D
Sweet! Goes great with the 808!
I had the biggest grin on my face when you got that control working lol
Please do a sample pack of some of these sounds!
Yayy, I just randomly came across this channel ... and I'm hooked! This guy is positively radiant and talented too. What's not to like?
Like a kid at Christmas. Just perfect.
My brother spend whole childhood making music on SID C64. His nick name was Gregfeel. U can find plenty music online, even here on YT. It was great time for him. Now he is reworking his tunes in new versions... But obviously... Is not the same... Pc and C64 r 2 different worlds... Nothing can beat SID... Unic sound
Thx to your videos and the video with look mum no computer and 8bit guy, I got me a sammich sid. 2 sid synth with MIDI and everything, even with a poly mode :)
Ennio Morricone's : "Indagine su un cittadino al di sopra di ogni sospetto"
Davvero forte, non c'è che dire! 10+
Awesome.
sounds great,
LMNC's build is exquisite.
Notes & Volts info helped us build a Lighting desk controller for QLCplus using the Midi control.. I need to do a vid on that.
RUclips Colab and reinvention at its best..
best bit..... until I saw c64 eps3... I imagined Claudio lived somewhere warm and sunny, Los Angeles seemed to fit ;)..... Nice to know you have stuck it out in the UK ;)
ATB
That interface is beautiful. These bass sounds aren't bad either
Love this. C64 owner here!
Nice work. I am inspired!
Just one word. EPIC.
I owned this famous Commodore in 1984, when Algeria was Algeria, at the time I was already a programmer, I was 13, but the best was Amstrad 1024 ST with which I I had learned what MIDI was, after the 90s, the software began to develop and see the day such as Cakewalk and Cubase, and I do not know which Devil I was struck, because I stopped everything and here I am content to contemplate Doctor Mix I forgot to talk to you also about the sound card, it was a bomb at the time the sound blaster: D , Thank you :))
Atari 1024 ST plutôt?
@@Esperluet ce que je voulais dire 😊 en plus cet ordi c'est avec lequel je me suis initié a l'aviation avec le fameux simulateur spitfire 40 😅
Wow! Surprisingly cool!!!
Though that whining muffled sound...
I think you will remain a child all your life :-)
BRAVO! and thank you for your, (VOILA) in french.
The joy in that intro! 😄🕺
I am so puzzled that there's no product commercial-ready with the SID and controllers all in a box - even two octaves would be enough at this point. I am tired of using plugins :D
this makes me very happy
I want mom to let me play with all your toys. I already told her that I want that workstation for Christmas! 😂😂😂Cool Video guy!
Nice! I've still got a SID Station Ninja (1 of 50) ...but that is something else!!!
well now i know what Doctor mix is doing for the rest of the day, a crazy jam session with the Commodore
Love it! :D
"Hopefully not important" 😂😂
What a incredible work! Next Step: Make the midi interface and midi cartridge a single piece.
I’m going to build an effects panel for macros for this. I use old and new SID chips in SIDFX. My breadbin has an FU32 dual beam tetrode vacuum valve pre-amp stickin’ out the top. Just a volume pot and four paddle pots, audio spectrum analyzer, mechboard 64 w/ cherry MX blues, JiffyDOS, reset, front print white keycaps, orange VIC20 function keycaps, shuriken and vicII2. I got the three port Xpander on the way so I can use REU of turbo chameleon64 v2 or 1541UII+. (I hope it works with Datel MIDI cart and cynthcart 64.
The old tech is still the best, you just can't beat it....😀
Elektron SidStation is the gold standard here.
Supposedly they are notoriously unreliable.
@@demerit5 I never owned one, but yeah... looking through a few forums I see what you mean. Those were very early days for Elektron, clearly.
Awesome!
Are you by any chance familiar with some of the great classic C64 tunes made by musicians like Chris Huelsbeck, Martin Galway, Rob Hubbard, Jeroen Tel, Tim Follin, David Whittaker? I love their work.
Love their work, along with the amiga trackers like 4mat and lizardking for their wavetable funk
@@chuckbiscuito Yes. 4mat is absolutely one of my faves too. I especially love his Commodore Amiga mod compositions. He's definitely one of the best. I remember ripping many mods of his back in the day and then seeing how he created them in the various sound trackers that were available back then.
When it comes to Amiga musicians, some of my faves also include Romeo Knight, Walkman , Jogeir Liljedahl, Uncle Tom, Gladiator, Blaizer, Bit Arts, Fred. They're all amazing people.
I'm a bit less familiar with Lizardking's work. I've no doubt must have heard some of his stuff throughout the years (since I listen to so many mods), but I'll have to look into his back catalogue on your solid recommendation. Thanks!
@@funguy8801 and thanks for yours! First thing I loaded up now was Romeo Knight's "cream of the earth" and got a flashback to the first time I heard that running in Protracker, nice
@@LFCGamerVlogs Agreed. All great musicians. Many good memories and their work still sounds great today. Timeless.
LFC Gamer Jonathan Dunn is one of my favorites for the C64 versions of Total Recall, Navy Seals and Robocop 2. I also like his amiga tune of Darkman which has Korg M1 samples in it🤗.
i have an old sequential circuits midi interface in/out sequencer card for c64 you can have if any use for it?
images.app.goo.gl/kpCJwHqgBfRf2WUw5
Have you tried building one of them insane Multi-SID things? I remember seen stuff with up to 8 SID's in it. You can go crazy with that stuff. Like really crazy. Old SID, new SID, ARMSID, ARM2SID, FPGA-SID, ARM2SID+OPL-ComboCard and SwinSID-Nano. Use them for what they are best for indevidually.
just brilliant :))
Doctor Mix is insane in a good way :)
Cool! Cool! Cool! 👍🏼
i have this same setup. are there other soft synths out there? or maybe speech synth? I really like Cynthcart, but I just wonder if there are other synths that would work with the same MIDI cart.
06:58 Rock'n'rolll baby!!!!!
As a native Philadelphian, I admit to smiling broadly around 7:38 :)
What is that rounded red video display unit?
I guess , my next song will be : Multimeter...😂
I remember our first "DAW" was the Fastracker, back in 90's .
Golden Years..🙏😊
Dr. Mix Child mode *engaged*
"init" got a laugh from me, the ex-pat. You make me want to get my C64 out of storage.
Hell yeah!
Doctor Mix is the man. I wish he was my friend.
Just watched your videos b2b and I had a cold beer. Can this get any better?
I sure try :-)
Sick!!!
you inspire me not to take drugs any more.
One of my goals in life is to meet you look mom no computer the 8bit guy Anders Jensen and LGR
And techmoan
Hi! Can someone share how you did the voice synthesis at the beginning? That's something I've been trying to track down for years- sonic charge bitspeak is the closest but not quite right. You NAILED IT.
plogue chipspeech maybe?
but i think there is also a free C64 speech (SAM) vst... called Speek3 by Wavosaur
@@newkfromrotterdam Thank you!
That's awesome 😊😊🙏👍😍😍👌❤️😍👌❤️😍👌❤️😍👌
this is a great project of you. pls more :-)))
Supercool! :) C64 rulez. :D
what 808 is that
Great! I like it.
I want to build it as well..I am working on a MIDI editor for Mac/PC and VST/AU plugin to be used with cynthcart ;-) so far I have afirst draft I can send a copy if you want to test it. You can utomate parameters in Cubas eor any other DAW
here it is sorry for the quality, cellphone recording...): ruclips.net/video/uZjL-ZLGghc/видео.html
cool Project! Looking forward to see more! By the way. There is simpler way to run Cynth on C64. There is mod that allows to program kernel to run Cynth. You don't have to use expander for cartidges that way :) Ask Darth Scalmar from Poland :) He is a Commodore Master. #commodore64vever
you da best man
If you wanna hear another 808 + commodore 64, listen to 80864 by goto 80!

cool and all, bu I've always wondered what microphone you use.
Nice, but will it play Planet X-3? :P
Shit! I just died when you reached to swap the cats whilst the C64 es turned on. I died, dude! Feeling a little better now and hope the is instructions as to how to build this for my self. 12 knobs for the C64? Yes, please.
Doctor n00b in the mix... 😏
I wonder why commondore is the starting point for the synthesizer.
was it a gaming machine?
hmm... its supposed to say CYNTHCART but it says CYNTCART ;P @2:54
Hey mom look, I found a computer!!!
This sexy dance! 😂😂
Now just wonder what Liam Howlett (aka The Prodigy) would make by using this
This one got me some Invaders Must Die analog "retro" synths vibes :D (riff from Colours or World's on Fire)
you're really crazy man, but I like that ...
Sometimes, Royal Mail works alright.... Looks like Sam dropped it by before driving to Paris :-)
Would like to see you do like the evolution of Roland or Korg. Then vs now and see how they evolved
Yeah it’s starting
what is that little orange monitor?! its so pretty!
