Cheers, and thank you. There is one thing I can tell you about that bottom water sensor fitting, The main white plastic screw with the large o-ring (NOT the plastic wing nut drain tap) if it is done up too tight the plastic will crack around the sunken inside seam. It will only be a hairline crack and very hard to see in the beginning but it's quite enough to for the system to loose pressure & suck air into the system. Word of advice: anything with a "NEW" o-ring only needs to be tightened really hand tight because the rubber seals very easily and because it is new rubber, it grips tight, will not vibrate and does not come undone.
Happened to mine when I thought I had done glow plugs, sent it to a mechanic and they tightened the new one too tight and it broke as well, now I've done the third one myself 😂
How not to... Removing hoses increases chances of adding contaminants, drain tap into plastic drink bottle, loosen filter, unbolt and replace filter, unscrew air bleed near out pipe, hand pump till no air, tighten, start engine....
hey mate im from wollongong getting loss of power after scv and fuel pressure sensor replaced had to reset and relearn the scv throu a mechanic and his diagnostic tool because it was stuck in limp mode with engine light on. 2 days later she seems to be running with total loss of power can go over 50kmph in it atm feels like its restricted big time any ideas would be great
You guys like to think of yourselves a car guys... You might want to put the details in the title sometime. There's a few different tritons out there. Just sayin...
A suggestion here for you, while you have the filter off is to test that your sensor is working. this can be done by grabbing the sensor, connecting it back up bare and moving the sensor up (as if it was floating in water) and then seeing if it comes up with the flash on the dash.

Cheers, great tip mate
Filters should only be tightened by hand NOT with a spanner /wrench, also there is a bleed screw at the top of the filter housing facing the front.

you showed us the new black filter, you removed the plastic, and now you are putting on a different filter? what happened? was it the wrong filter ?
no one else observed this ?
the black filter was slightly scratched during removal and diesel leaked out. he has a very delicate body. so we had to give another one
