    Its easy to unscrew in situ, sometimes it can be hard to turn so to avoid messing it up remove the whole filter and clamp gently in a vice and use a strap to help turn the plastic locking ring
    A pro tip if the L200 is a town car and 4wd isn't used much lubricate the 4wd selector shaft as it can corrode and get stuck in 2wd, pull back the rubber boot to inspect/clean and lube, engage 4wd to make sure it works.
    Another tip which I've just encountered on a customers L200 I look after which went into mistubishi for warranty work, the transfer box rubber bush was advised by main dealer to be replaced as the rubber had come away from the metal, this is a floating bush as long as there is rubber around the center metal/bolt and around the outside then it doesn't need to be replaced as it's ment to move around inside.

      Yeah they have all kinds of ways around dodging warranty claims, hence I was pleased to get rid of mine.
      Yes usually when they are tight on most vehicles I just remove the whole housing and do it on the bench, plus saves diesel going everywhere under the bonnet and leaking onto customers driveways

      Yes I find this the easiest way, can’t see the need to remove the whole housing like some do?

    Canny jerb that like 👍
    One thing to flag up is, not sure if this applies to the L200 mind you, but *usually* you don't need to manually refill the filter housing with diesel. All you need to do is (started life as a car mechanic back in 1989 btw, later motorcycles) turn the ignition on, obviously without starting the engine, leave it on for 5 seconds, knock ignition off, and repeat the process.
    What this does is replenish the filter housing with diesel as the fuel pump kicks in automatically on ignition to re-pressurise the system, and there's a one way air valve built into the system which expels air when the housing fills up.
    Enjoying your content keep it up!
    Today i just fitted a fancy new gear nerb, rain defence kit (didn't remove the tail lights, thought I'd take my chance with a very short 3mm pilot hole drill bit, lights ok after installation, strategically chopped it a bit to get around the rear canopy housing too) and fitted a rear bumper. Looks lovely, mine being the Titan didn't have one. 😞
    Please don't think I'm a know-it-all, cos I'm far from it 😉

      No 80% of diesels even to this day don’t have a low pressure in tank lift pumps, you put a dry filter in and get air into the system and you can be on hours trying to start them, stressing the starter/battery and can actually damage the high pressure pump turning it over dry….. so always always always pre fill the filter even if they have in tank pump or not, also those primer bulbs can fracture or split causing air leaks and non starting/ cutting out, so only use them for 2/3 pumps after filling.
      Yes the water defence kit is a brilliant modification
      No I fully understand mate 👍🏼

      Cheers dude, like I said, I wasn't sure if it applied to the L200 or not.
      Replaced fuel filter in my 1.9 JTD Multijet Fiat doblo using method I mentioned, started straight away. I guess it's in the 20% minority. 😉

    • @CarAddictGarageNE
      @CarAddictGarageNE  Год назад +1

      Yeah like said about 20% have a lift pump, even then you risk if they don’t work, you turn it over and get air into the HP pump and your in trouble

    • @CarAddictGarageNE
      @CarAddictGarageNE  3 года назад

      Yes no problem next time I change a slave or master cylinder, I would always recommend a power bleeder using compressed air for vacuum, as clutches can be a nightmare to bleed at times

    Hi, many thanks for sharing this video, it was very helpful for me. Just one question, is it possible to reset the Check Engine light without a scanner?

    • @CarAddictGarageNE
      @CarAddictGarageNE  Год назад +1

      No problem mate thanks for watching….. are you referring to the service light, or engine management light?
      Usually you can reset the odd time an EML by disconnecting the battery for about 10/15 mins.

    • @davidsolano8933
      @davidsolano8933 Год назад

      Thanks, I'm referring to yellow Check Engine, not the maintenance. I'm guessing that it came because of the old diesel filter that was too saturated.

    Quick question. I’ve just got a 2016 (66 plate) l200. Barbarian spec with auto gearbox. Is this a chain or belt type 2.4 engine?

    • @CarAddictGarageNE
      @CarAddictGarageNE  2 года назад +3

      Hi, assume yours is an early series 5 all the 2.4 are chain driven and the 2.5 in the series 4 are belt driven
