I recently upgraded from a M1 iPad Air to the M2 iPad Air 13 inch and I love it so much. Super powerful and the bigger screen is just awesome.

@@QUANTUM-yu5qf Yes I do make notes. With the Apple Pencil and just general typing. No lag at all. It’s a beast this iPad. I don’t need 120hz on an iPad to be honest. 8gb ram is also more than sufficient for my tasks which is mainly streaming, emails, note taking and social media.

This ipad makes perfect sense to me as a musician. I don't need the latest tech in screens, I don't need a keyboard (for live gigs) or a pencil, it is powerful enough, and the screen size is a joy. The USB port is faster than i need to record and i never use the rear camera. Not everything is Video Editing or coding

I'm curious, what software do you use to record? I want to try Logic, but it won't run on my 2017 iPad Pro. I'm trying to decide whether to upgrade to the M2 Air or M4 Pro. Thanks.

I don’t get why people struggle with the 13” iPad Air, it’s Pro-lite at an affordable price. For me it was far more attractive than its Pro M4 cousin, and does everything I need it to. The screen size and M2 chip made it a no brainer for me. The Apple Pencil Pro was a bonus, although living in the UK, sadly we don’t get a power brick (even though we pay more for the device!).

how is the drawing/writing experience? do you feel that what you write lags behind your pen? or does the writing feel natural? literally that's the only aspect I care for right now!

I traded in my beloved iPad mini 5 for the M2 11" iPad Air with no regrets. I wanted a bigger iPad with a laminated display. I purchased from Apple education store with a trade in and was able to get the base model for less that $400 with tax. Not everyone needs a iPad Pro. I had my mini for 5 years and definitely plan to keep the Air for much longer than that.

Recently upgraded from the first gen iPad Pro to the 13 iPad Air. I’ve increased the resolution and used mine mainly for Lightroom. It’s a brighter screen than my old tablet. Is blazing fast and has all that extra real estate, I love it.
I’m now ordering the pencil pro for painting etc.
I didn’t immediately notice the lack of pro-motion. But then I don’t spend my time flicking the pages back and forward to try and spot the difference. So another £400 for the pro has no real benefit for me.
Additionally, I’m not spending over a thousand pounds on the iPad Air because I don’t need a keyboard, also currently the cheapest iPad Pro M1 12.9” in the UK from Apple is £1369!

Got an 11 inch entry model iPad Air. Going back to school, so it’s plenty for what I’ll need as a student as a digital note taking device and doing Microsoft Office work here and there. Also did Apple Trade in with my old iPad so I got it at a pretty solid price.

As a musician using my iPad Pro mainly for reading sheet music, the 13" Air is perfect for me. Sure 120Hz would be nice, and the quad speakers are great but as an upgrade from my 2015 12.9" iPad Pro this is what I've been waiting for. Longer battery and a bit less weight is more valuable to me over the nicer "Pro" features. As a teacher I'm hoping for Apple's back to school deal to include £100 gift card and I'll be able to get the base 13" iPad Air and Pencil Pro all in for only £768 instead of £928 which would be sick! 🤞

Yooooooo. I didn't realize the old ipad pro cases fit this one. Thank you! I had the original 11" ipad pro, went to the M1 12.9" (didn't have cellular, so I also go the mini 6th gen with cellular) and finally downgraded to the new M2 Air with cellular. I never got rid of my 11" cases. I just realized my keyboard case fits. I just have to cutout the space for the larger touch ID button.

I traded in my iPad Air 4th generation using Apple trade-in for an iPad Air M2. Price, with tax, now less than 400.00. Absolutely no reason to add Apple’s case/keyboard at well over 200 when I can get something very similar for less than 60.00. Apple Pencil? Meh. Sure, I might have been able to get a better after market price for my 4th gen., but considering I work 40+ hours a week and deal with aging in-laws, walking into an Apple store and taking care of EVERYTHING except the case from Amazon was a no-brainer. Very, very seldom does the average consumer HAVE to purchase the top of the line anything.

I have purchased TWO iPad Air 13" models!. One is for my wife and one is for me and we don't fit into either of your buyer categories. We are both in our mid (late for me) seventies; my wife has sight problems and finds the 13" iPad much much better for media consumption. While I have a Mac Mini, the 13" iPad is an essential step in the progress to using iOS devices as my only computers. I have a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard so that my hardware at least is as good or better than any MacBook. If only iPadOS could get some proper support the iPad would be perfect for me. iPadOS desperately needs the Files app to be at the same standard as the macOS Finder and having an alternative backup method to iCloud would be great.
    Thanks fo

I love my new air 13 inch! The screen is amazing, battery life is awesome. It’s really fast and has good sound. I like everything about it. (I came from iPad 10). I’ve even had a pro before, but it was overkill and heavy so I sold it. Maybe the new lighter version is great if you want to spend 1200 bucks or more go for it.

I would get one because I can use the keyboard that I already have and still be able to put the M2 chip to use. The lower spec display doesn’t bother me as I rarely notice how good my M1 12.9” iPad Pro screen is when compared to the display on my iPad Mini 6.

I really can’t decide if I am going to “upgrade” my iPad Pro 2018 to the 2024 Air or get a refurbished M2 iPad Pro when they come to the Apple Store. Has anyone switch to the new Air? I know it comes with downsides I.e. lack of pro motion etc. are the trade off worth it.

I have a (battery problem) 2018 12.9 and use an M1 2021 12.9 Pro daily. I likely won't upgrade for a year or so and then Ipad Air will likely be a worthwhile upgrade. We'll see then--I would not upgrade from my 2021 M1 to the 2024 Air (12.9) right now.

I have the new iPad Air 13. As far as battery life goes I saw on another video it was recommended to only charge your iPad to 80% as it will be better for the long term life of your battery. Do you believe this to be true? 🐬🆙

You still enjoying it? What storage capacity do you have? I'm considering the M1 iPad Air because some places have the 64GB version on sale for $200 off, so $399 which I've been strongly considering.

This could be one of the worse advice videos I’ve seen in awhile. Suggesting to consumers to purchase a refurbished or used iPad Pro over a new iPad Air with M2. In my opinion, a lot of iPad users out there would benefit greatly buying the new iPad Air over used and refurbished, mainly because you never know what you’re getting with used and refurbished isn’t a guarantee also, even though it’s a much better option but also you can’t get Apple Care on anything used or refurnished so that alone should deter most users, unless they need a pro version and those users usually already know what they need.
