Lisa, you did a great job of explaining many of the details of using this! I have watched a lot of RUclipsrs use a branding iron to burn logos, but most of the time, they are not even, or too hot or too cold. I bought one to do logos on my woodturning work, and just haven't taken the time to set it up and start using it. Your video has motivated me to do this. Thanks!
Hi Eileen! I had an electric branding iron years and years ago and while it burned more reliably then some of the others I’ve seen, the design was old and outdated and was rectangular since originally used on flat pieces. It didn’t fit on the bottoms of bowls and I’ve had no luck with markers of any kind. And a decent wood burning tool is not cheap so overall I’m thrilled with what this gives me!
I just bought one of these on Friday and haven't had any time to play with it (other than a few hours in the evening)! Now I know what I'm dong tomorrow. Thanks for sharing!
Ok, i am behaving nice ( i hope ) so i stay. :) Fantastic video and so much you can create with this machine Lisa. Very cool ans exiting pictures and taxt, love it. Take care and stay safe. Greetings Hans Olav
I love your video. I think if you took a pencil and marked a dot at the center of your bowls and coaster and used the app to find the center you would be very accurate and have the same dimensions around the outside of your circular designs, nice work !
That was a great review Lisa. I wished I had seen this before I did mine but since I did mine before this that is not possible LOL What I had to do in slab mode was shim the machine up so the ball bearing levelers lined up with the feed wheels. I had some scrap Formica that was just right. I also find this a very cool tool and there will be lots of uses. Gary
Like someone said to the nice lady when she first mentioned a LaserPecker "I'd turn a wood M2 taper and mount the 'Pecker on the tailstock and burn bowls right on the lathe". Me ? I am *so envious* !! Take care Lisa. -Mike p.s. may I stay ?
This was a really cool video I liked you explaining it this one looks better if you was just starting out is this the case in your opinion Lisa? I really like all your videos you explain everything so people understand thank you. The great shark boards are really lovely you are so clever from Amanda x
Thanks so much Amanda! The LaserPecker2 is very easy to use for sure, it’s only real limitation in my opinion is the maximum size. I’ve found the Ortur to be easy to use as well - the software just has a bit of a learning curve.
This is such an informative video and demonstration on the versatility of this machine, I can't wait to check out the rest of the videos on your channel. How long did it take to engraver your blue tumbler, not including the set up time? Thanks Mark
Hi Mark! I'm sorry I honestly don't remember a this point - this was the first of the laser engravers I reviewed and it was a while ago. I am still using this as well as the xTool and am very happy with both!
Hi Lisa, great video, thanks. My bowls tend to have a bit of a raised "button" in the middle. would this unit work on these, or do the bottoms need to be dead flat?
Hi Steve! That shouldn’t be an issue since you can take the cone off if you need to. You’d just have to focus to whatever surfed you’re burning on and then go to town, either with the laser on the stand or on a homemade jig thing for positioning bro your needs 👍
If you keep expanding you artistic capabilities you are going to have to rename your RUclips channel, "Lisa's Magical Mystery Tour"!!! What an awesome engraver! Thanks for sharing your journey with all of us!!!! Keep up the great work!!!!
Hi Jim! Yes, they have apps for Windows and an installation instruction video on their YT channel. But to be honest, with the LP2 the phone app is so easy I prefer that. I’m using LightBurn from my laptop for the Ortur LaseeMaster3
Hi all, I am searching for a video explaining the windows laserpecker program, I cannt find any help at all. In particular I am looking to understand the relationship between the canvas size and the image size. Laserpecker site offers little help at all. Any help at all would be very welcome.
Hi Vern! What are you trying to do with it? I found it easier to use than the gantry style engravers - the app works well but I’ve heard mixed reviews on the PC version. Let me know what you’re having trouble with and I’ll see if I can help sort it out.
@@LisaRamlow Hi, thought I would be able to do more with it than what’s on the app. Would like to design a logo to sign some of my work, and have tried a few things then put away.
Hi Dave! Yes the Laserpecker2 is on the high end of the diode lasers. It’s really simple to use with the app and the portability is a feature not found on many others. I am going to be testing another gantry style laser engraver and then giving that away to a subscriber, so stay tuned and maybe you’ll win one! 😃
Congratulations on probably the best laser engraver video I've seen
Thank you Pat, I really appreciate that. I’m glad you found the video useful 😁

Thanks for watching 😁
ooh!!! You have the coolest toys! And you do such lovely things with them! Keep up the good work!
Why thank you, imma try!
Glad you finally got one, you will love it.
Indeed!
This is a fantastic piece of equipment but I swear I would call it something else.
Right!? In their defense the woodpecker logo is pretty cool we just have to get past our inner 12 year old selves to not snicker about it 😂
@@LisaRamlow
I’ll try. 😂
It didn’t work.
Thank you for sharing these videos, and your work!!
Thanks for watching Julia, I’m glad you’re enjoying the channel! 😃
That's a nice portable powerful laser. Thanks for the review on it
Thanks Michael!

Of course you stay Hans Olav 😃
You are having lots of fun trying out those lasers, I hope you get to keep one! They sure do a great job! Thanks!
Cheers Al
Hi Al! I do indeed, and I’m going to be reviewing another gantry style laser engraver to give away to one of you awesome subscribers!
Great review Lisa. I would love to have one of them.
Thanks Jack! So far I’m impressed with both laser engravers for sure!
That's cool! I'd prolly have everything in my shop decorated! Lol! Thanks for sharing.
Take care, Dave
Me too Dave! Eventually, that is…

Thanks Gary! I’ve been totally swamped and haven’t had a chance to watch yours yet but I do want to check it out and see what you came up with 😃
very good ,,,,,,,,,,,,,i will try that ,mark x
😃🙃
That's very nice 👍
Thanks, I’m pretty stoked!
Looks like I got to start saving money
Hi Dallas! I think the laser engraver is an amazing addition to the wood shop 👍

I would be heartbroken if you didn’t Mike ❤️
@@LisaRamlow 👍😎
I've watched a few videos on this engraver. I think it would be the one for me. However, it's pretty far down the priority list. Great examples, Lisa!
Thanks Jay! I’ve been wanting one for quite a while

Can it be run off a desk top computer.

@@LisaRamlow Thanks makes sense
What’s the difference between the 3
The Laserpecker 3? It is a fiber laser so works on metals and other things - the LP2 is a diode laser and will do coated stainless steel and aluminum.
👍🐝Nice🐝
Thanks Jim!

Hi Ricky! Sorry I’m not really any help as I only use it with my phone and the app
No problem, many thanks for your reply.
Coolio!

I bought the same as you have, don’t use it as I haven’t figured it out yet. Doesn’t do what I want. Have to play with it more

Thanks Wes, it’s a great tool
Almost 1000 bucks for this laser I don't think I'll be buying.
