Excellent demo and review! I've had my LP2 for about 2 months, and as a turner and crafter, I'm constantly finding new uses for it. I think it was a worthy investment. Thanks for all your videos, Mike!
Great review, Mike! I love the way you were able to turn the bowl on its side and burn a logo on the bottom. That would be so handy in so many cases. Thanks for showing us all how well and how easily it works. Really enjoyed this, my friend. 👌👌 …..Gord
Good comprehensive review Mike. I've seen the basic machine before but not the rollers for cylindrical work or the trolley set up. Really impressive. Thanks for that. Tony
Perfect timing on the review Mike, I am getting one for the woodshop so this really helps. Just got a new Iphone but may use the tablet instead for the larger viewing area. Well done, and thank you.
Hello Mike, another nice and helpful video. This and other laser engravers are also discussed in our German woodturning forum. I have linked your videos there. Cheers, Martin.
Thanks for doing this review Mike. I have been eyeballing the multitude of offerings available on Amazon and found the vast majority required too much bench space or seemed woefully underpowered. A CO2 unit was too massive and way too expensive. This unit looks just about perfect. Yes, I ordered one. Amazon says it will be delivered tomorrow.
I like that better than my Fox Alien, though it does large projects easier. This is perfect for small projects and I love the stand alone option. I hope to see how creative you get with it, Mike!
Thanks Mike, great review. I’m an hobbiest with wood. I am looking for the best way to engrave, up to now, I have been using my chisels (badly) Can you use the LP2 to scribe different fonts? How do you do this using an iPhone. I really am a technophobe. Thanks. Dave.
Thanks David, you can use whatever font you choose ... all the information you would ever need is on their website. I use it with my Android tablet and Android mobile phone. Cheers. Mike
Great review Mike and very timely that I found it as Ive been researching dozens of engravers! This could be just the trick as its easy for a techaphobic like me and also very portable. One question, how many rolls of masking tape come with it?? 🤔
Great review Mike, it seems very versatile, when you press the auto down does it stop when it touches something or will it keep driving down? All the best to you. Regards Jim
Hi Mike, Off topic, but I hope you can help. In your recent video turning a vase from wet elderberry you used a Forstner bit extension. Can you tell me where you got it, and what brand of Forstners you use? All the extensions i’ve seen have fittings for 3/8ths shanks.. All of my Forstners have shanks bigger than that. Best wishes Stan
Hi Stan, I got my Forstner bits from eBay years ago ... generic brand. My extension bar is from www.oliverswoodturning.co.uk/ here in the UK. Cheers Mike
Nice review Mike. I've been looking at the LaserPecker 2 for quite a few weeks now and I am really impressed with its performance. I'm sure it will help with my projects and videos in the future if I get one. I've seen 2 other turners review this, Gary The Papa1947 and Phil Anderson form Shady Acres Woodshop. I know I predominantly make pens but I think this would be ideal for that to take my pens to the next level by them being personalised to the customer Take care Mike. Cheers, Huw
Just a note top your subscribers. I had my laser pecker 2 for about 2 months and it quit working. I have had a devil of a time getting laser pecker to answer me and get any satisfaction from them. I want a repair or replacement and they have yet to give me a place to return this to. It worked great at first but not now. The laser will not show a preview or burn any image now. I have tried to re download the app several times per their advice and still nothing.
@@MikeWaldt Hi Mike, I did finally got the unit back and it is working for putting my Logo on bowls. However, I am finding out that it is not quite as advertised in some ways. In the trolley mode, I had hoped to use this for a couple banners for my arts show setups. It is supposed to do a banner up to 2 meters, I believe. However you are limited to the size and fonts of the laser pecker supply. Also if you select the widest setting for height of the letter which is 3.94 inches, it only burns letters under 2 inches. Kind of a bummer. Perhaps you are having better fortune with yours.
Just ordered one this week - Can't wait to give it a try - definitely going to make putting logo's on work a lot easier!
They are really great pieces of kit.

Just had mine delivered yesterday. Thanks for the tutorial.
Enjoy Tom 🙂

It is very capable Ron, and versatile.
I don't know ... one of these could be ANOTHER VORTEX to fall into! Very good review!
You're right there Gerald. Thanks for watching.

Glad you found it useful Gary .... unfortunately no tape came with it as they were told by the MTMB ...the masking tape marketing board not to!
Cool product and excellent video
Thanks Ashley.
Very good review Mike. You said it could be used on many materials. I wonder how well it would work on stone? Best wishes.
Thanks Jerry, it works OK, I have tried it.
Really like the laserpecker will be great for logo's etc
It is a really versatile piece of kit Colin.
Great review Mike, it seems very versatile, when you press the auto down does it stop when it touches something or will it keep driving down?
All the best to you.
Regards Jim
Thanks Jim, yes it does stop automatically. Thanks for watching.
Interesting Bit of Kit Mike
It certainly is Brian.
Thanks Mike very informative, how easy was it to get your logo on it, and do you know in what format your logo needs to be? Cheers
Thanks Graham. I made my logo in lightburn and it worked fine. But you can't use lightburn with it directly. Thanks for watching.

Nice review Mike.🙂🙂
Thanks Glen.
But could it be used to sign the bottom of a bowl?
Yes it can be, I did demonstrate that in the video though Ron.
@@MikeWaldt I see it now at 9:00, thanks

Mike
Gary n Phil were some real salesmen!!! I've got mine and absolutely LOVE this thing!
@@hughconrad1715 Thanks Hugh. Did you get the full package with the rollers?
Hi, do you think this is good enough for commercial use?
Not in my opinion ... but the newer version might be.
@@MikeWaldt thank you
will this work on a kindle?
I really have no idea but it will work on a smartphone.

Well worth seriously considering Barry.
Very good review Mike, been looking at getting one myself.
