Monsters University is like a classic in my house for some reason. I think because we could just turn it on in the background and watch it occasionally. It also gives you an idea of how Mike and Sulley become friends and how Randall is the villain. I understand Sean, but for me it’s a Top 10 at least. Love the videos!

It is underrated because it is so basic
and simple as a film but it kind of doesn’t make sense. Monster’s Inc shows Mike and Sulley as childhood friends but Monster’s University shows that they met in college.

Coco is my favorite Pixar movie too. I mean I LOVE most of their work, but Coco was the first to make me cry, and the twist that Hector was Miguel’s grandfather, and Ernesto was a fraud that MURDERED Hector absolutely shocked me. I agree. To me it has the feel of a classic comedy from the 1950s like Harvey, Auntie Mame, or Some Like It Hot. It has a perfect mix of heart, humor, and mild intrigue that made those kinds of films successful and a joy to watch. The animation is stunning, and the score is exquisite. Even the traditionally animated closing credit sequence is worth watching.

Pixar is probably the most amazing studio in the world. Their very worst movies are just a little below average, while their average movies are pretty great.
What's really unique about them, is how nobody can really agree which of their movies is the best. I've watched many of these tier lists, and nobody is even remotely similar (other than toy story 1-3 being ranked high. Everybody loves them). I think it's because they're usually built around a powerful emotional concept (grief, family, moving on, standing up for yourself, etc.) and some of us have had stronger personal experiences around these than others.
It's why someone like me who has struggled with depression and has lost loved ones, connects strongly with movies like Inside Out and Coco (my favorites) while others will love Ratatouille, Up, or Walle (also great). Watching them is too subjective of an experience for anybody to be able to agree on which is best.
On top of that, many of us watched some of these when we were young kids, and the nostalgia factor amplifies everything even more.

I feel like I’ve had a special connection with Finding Nemo all my life. I was 5 when I went to see this movie in the theater and it was my childhood comfort movie for years. I memorized all the scenes and got really invested in the journeys of Nemo and Marlin to find each other again. No matter how many times I watched it, the climax and reunion scene always hit me hard. It was the perfect film. The only other Pixar movies that I would describe as perfect or close to perfect are Wall-E, The Incredibles, and Toy Story 2. These movies were pure magic for me, and are easily my favorites of the Pixar catalogue to this day.

Side note, I agree with practically all of this list with the exception of soul. I’m going to be honest, Pixar has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. It’s always been my favorite film studio, and some of my favorite theater going experiences were going to see their movies. That’s what makes this ranking so hard because there are so many films of there’s that I love that I almost feel like I’m insulting them by having some films outside of my top 10, but this is my true honest ranking of Pixar’s films.

Hot Take: Cars 3 is actually 10 times worse than Cars 2 because of the Mary Sue BS and is boring while with Cars 2, it gets ironic enjoyment points and is a personal guilty pleasure of mine. But both are better than Turning Red, Brave, Good Dinosaur, and Toy Story 4. And the merchandising thing wasn't the intention with Cars 2, but it definitely was with the 3rd movie.
To me, the THQ Cars Games from The First Cars game to Cars: Race-O-Rama will always be the TRUE Cars sequels since they actually FELT like sequels.
Planes 1 is singlehandedly the worst movie Disney affiliated ever. Planes 2 is better since the main character doesn't have a fear of hights anymore. (Which was the stupidest plot point ever in history. YES EVEN WORSE THAN TURNING RED'S MAIN CHARACTER TURNING INTO A FURRY AGAINST HER WILL BECAUSE BS REASONS.)

This list is nuts. Toy Story 4 so high, Incredibles 2 so high, and Finding Nemo, the most derivative story ever made. Fish gets lost, fish gets found. Wall-E, Incredibles 1, Toy Story 1,2, or 3 could all have been number 1.

Don't think I realized until this list how much Sean hasn't been as positive on Pixar's recent output compared to their early early stuff. Just a testament to how this company grows up with people.
    My list:
    Blandering (Bland Pandering):
    26. Cars 2
    25. Brave
    24. The Good Dinosaur
    23. Onward
    22. Cars 3
    21. Monsters University
    Mediocre:
    20. Cars
    19. Lightyear
    18. A Bug's Life
    Solid Enough:
    17. Incredibles 2
    16. Finding Dory
    15. Soul (Pete Docter's weakest film since it's far less sturdy in its worldbuilding and tone balancing, while also retreading some admittedly fascinating ground for him.)
    14. The Incredibles
    Pretty Good:
    13. Finding Nemo
    12. Luca
    11. Inside Out
    10. Turning Red (The most vibrant and expressive animation, effects, and storytelling the studio's had in a while, agree that the ending doesn't fully stick but lovely overall!)
    9. Up
    8. Toy Story
    7. Coco
    Great:
    6. Toy Story 4
    5. Toy Story 3
    4. Monsters, Inc.
    Brilliant:
    3. Toy Story 2
    2. Ratatouille
    1. WALL-E

I’ve never understood why Toy Story 2 is so high on people’s rankings. It really just felt like a Toy Story 2.0 rather than a sequel if that makes sense. It doesn’t really stand out from the first, while 3 and 4 bring new themes and new ideas

I don't think I have ever disagreed with one if your lists as strongly as I do here. However, it goes to show what range Pixar has in connecting with it's audience. I won't rank everything but here's my top 3 and a few other Honorable mentions:
    1 WALL-E
    2 Soul
    3 Coco
WALL-E is a perfect movie. Period. Soul hit me hard because I was going through an identity crisis at the time. I've seen Coco twice, once shortly after my mother passed away, and the second time shortly after my stepfather passed.
I prefer Monsters University over Inc. Again, I just connect with the story a lot more, I think the humor lands better, and the cast is more likable. Bug's Life is massively underrated. Great humor, great characters, and the story is more relevant now than it was when it came out. Lastly . . . Cars 2 is my favorite of the Cars movies. 3 is technically the best. But I really, really don't like the first one. I have and endless slew of questions about how the Cars world works and the movie isn't good enough to distracted from those questions. Lightning McQueen is incredibly unlikable. The story is one that I've seen countless times, and the only genuinely charming character is Mater. Now go over to 2, and within the first five minutes I realize that they are going in a direction so unbelievably stupid that I was able to shut off my brain, stop asking the existential questions, and just enjoy the ride. For the story they were telling, they did a good job. I like the fact that Mater is genuine and honest and upfront the entire film, despite it being a mistaken identity plot. In the end, he saves the day using knowledge that only he would have, playing to the strengths of a character that seemingly has none.
