    Skizz, thank you for doing that to Scar.
    Slipping adult humor into an otherwise innocent show that appears to be ideal for children is a very Disney thing to do, and we know how much Scar loves Disney.

    The addition of proximity chat in Minecraft has been such an incredible tool for everyone on HC or life series etc server to create these wonderful improvised moments and random encounters. I feel that before when people interacted on the server it had to be so organized because you had to join a discord call and could feel kinda scripted and stiff. Now if you wanna talk to someone you just roll up and say hi and it’s created some of the most hilarious and memorable moments and it feels like everyone on the server is a little closer because of it or perhaps we just get to see that closeness more.

      This is so true, I mean would we have one of the most improved moments of hilarity ever of Scare & Grian sneaking up on ZombieCleo wearing the creeper costumes? Maybe but I don't think it wouldn't have been quite as tear quality laughter!

    I had the Ethernet cable wrapped around my big toe the entire time so if Impulse was about to come 1st I'd pull it! (jk)
    That, just like the life series, is just another example of how amazing unscripted and improv moments are. Impulse and Skizz are both a treat to work with, they're very selfless with giving to someone else's moment or narrative if they come upon it and that's special in the content creation scene

    A great example of collaboration is between Adam and Jamie of Mythbusters. They’ve said in interviews that they were not really friends off-screen, but the both recognized that they worked amazingly together as coworkers on their projects.

    One of the things that keeps me coming back to Hermitcraft over the other SMPs is the collaboration of the members. I mean from Grian's tag, to Gem's PVP episode, to Beef's TCG, to Tango's Decked Out, to Hermits Helping Hermits, all of it makes things so much more interesting. The little factions that form at the start of the season like the Soup Gang or the Boatem Crew really help make people like me stick with it for the long haul.
    The Life series really introduced me to so many new content creators and put them in the best light because it was so much collaboration and improve in such a short time. Watching the reactions to stuff like Scar dying constantly or Jimmy being offed first every season is just amazing. I was introduced to Skizz with it, and saw Impulse in such a different light after it. Watching Skizz' little one-on-ones with everyone this season is so heart-warming I can't help but smile. Then watching Impulse's editing and effects in the last episode was fantastic. The freeze frames with the voiceover was beautiful. I really love when the episodes drop every week because it's like a whole day of laughs for me.

    • @junoantaresofficial
      @junoantaresofficial Год назад +1

      The life series introduced me to Grian, which got me to look at his other content, I watched season 7 in time to catch season 8, which both got me watching almost every single hermit. They are so different from each other but still all work in an amazing way. It's not just chaos all the time it's a little bit of everything from every smp ever, all in one place. I wouldn't have learned about any of this, maybe ever, if not for Grian and his idea for the life series.

    I thought I’d just put out there that the 3 life series was my real intro to impulses videos. He wasn’t on my regular hermits I watch until that series, it’s nearly been two years and I haven’t looked back ! You two are truly inspiring people, you need to know that. I especially relate to impulse a lot, so knowing that even with imposter syndrome and social anxiety, you can still make it in whatever career you want !

    The CCs that have come together for the life series, there is a very special magic there. We're talking upwards of about 20 people. That's a lot of ppl being able to riff smoothly! The magic shows in the content being produced. No egos, no primadonna's. Also the diversity of the personalities! I hope this group can find ways to keep coming together be it the Life series, crossovers, new projects. Your a special kind of magic and it really shows!! I'm so glad I've been able to experience it as it's happening!

    Hi guys!
    With the Life Series underway and with you guys talking about it, I've been reminded that I wanted to ask how you both felt about the fan-made content that gets made. While I've watched a lot of content from you both (Hermitcraft, Solo Skizz, etc.), I was mostly unaware of the fan art until I started seeing "animatics" of the Life series, which never fail to blow my mind.
    I think there's something about collaboration in this space that provides so many great moments that the audience feels like they want to be a part of it, and the Life series brings it to a whole new level.

    • @RedisFun2
      @RedisFun2 Год назад

      If they do a podcast on the topic, they NEED to have Martyn and/or Jimmy on, because of how into the fanmade content they are. (Martyn said one of his favorite parts of the life series was seeing what the community came up with.)

    • @junoantaresofficial
      @junoantaresofficial Год назад +1

      They have said is a few different episodes that the fan art is the best part of collabing. Basically it's the best compliment to their content that fans can give because it means they inspired someone so much the fan made something new out of their content. Scar has said that fan art is the best judge of the success of content, the more fan art, the better the content was.

    The "Life" series have caught lightning in a bottle, EVERYBODY on the server is a force multiplier. Its not Grian plus Jimmy plus Joel equals 'The Bad Boys' its Grian times Jimmy times Joel equals 'The Bad Boys'. Great collabs are always far more than the sum of their parts.

    Impulse’s humility is so strong, but out of all the redstoner Hermits, Impulse most inspires me. Practical, huge projects are more inspiring to me because they are things that I want to do in my own worlds and serve a purpose. There are so many farms I learned about watching his Hermitcraft episodes that I have now built in-game and use all the time, and my Minecraft experience in general has grown so much since watching Impulse’s Hermitcraft episodes. So thankful that Impulse makes such awesome and inspiring content! 1:09:00

    The thing I don't think you both realize is that there are little laughs even through all the serious topics, I think that just naturally happens when friends hangout for a chat. I won't lie, I noticed Impulse kept looking at something off in the distance and I was wondering what was happening, so I'm glad he mentioned the TV because I kept thinking there was something weird happening behind the scenes, he's never that distracted.
    I have really loved limited life for the collab environment that it holds. And I love that Skizz has the drive to be true to who he is no matter who he's with. I'm not the biggest fan of Skizz's solo stuff but Skizz is AMAZING at jiving well with others and every single time he's in a world where he can interact with others he absolutely shines and I love watching his POVs. Skizz is absolutely someone who (in my opinion) needs to be working with other people because he has this pure talent for bringing genuine, touching, hilarious, and skilled interpersonal interactions.

  • @raemouse
    @raemouse Год назад

    Impulse, you spoke about making your story unique in each Life episode among a group of 14. You, and all others, have absolutely done that this series. I have watched every POV every episode and without fail, every single one has had a value, storyline or explanation of an event you hadn't seen in someone else's video. There hasn't been a single video that I felt was pointless watching each week.
    I'm not sure which episode it was but there was a huge prank/attack played on a few players and it took me so many POVs to actually reveal who was responsible for it and that was so exciting!
    This series has been the most chaotic by far but also the most fun, the most boundary-pushing and one of my favourites.
    I left a comment on Cleo's episode six, where Gem subbed for her and Lizzie subbed for Pearl. Grian had previously done his AFK episode. And I wrote how you guys as a group, with the Life series mostly but with other content too, are pushing the boundaries of what the Minecraft genre on RUclips is and it is so powerful! It may 'just be a video game' but these videos have play such a huge part in my life. I love seeing you guys taking these risks in trying new stuff, breaking the RUclips content cycles and patterns and making such fun, amazing content.
    Seriously guys, this was a joy of an episode to watch. And Limited Life has brought so much happiness to me and I'm so sad to see it coming to an end. Impulse, you get to that final three, we believe in you! And Skiss, we miss you already! ❤

  • @Werewolf914
    @Werewolf914 Год назад +8

    With that Scar story I feel like if Skizz ever collaborated with Sausage they'd get along well because Sausage does more innuendos per minute than any Family Friendly creator I know, which I think is fine Disney and other places do that all the time like I remember the first time I rewatched Justice League Unlimited cartoon as a kid which is Y7 and there's one moment where Green Lantern mentions he can create anything with his ring and Vixen laying down in a very suggestive way says something like "you can make anything 😏" and I was just bursted out laughing, it also has a moment where The Flash tells Wonder Woman and Hawkgirl that he's the fastest Man alive and they kind of go ugh huh and then he's like "well somethings I can do real slow" I forget the exact wording.
    Anyway the point is I think you can definitely from time to time sneak in crass adult humor because the kids won't pick up on it but the adults will get a hilarious surprise when they hear an innuendo

  • @benfoshee1899

    It's true what you're saying about having a healthy space to work, play, or just be around in general. Moods and vibes are infectious and dictate everyone else's moods and vibes. If everyone has positive energy, then it's easy to collaborate and even carry that attitude outside of the realm that you are in and it effects your other aspects of life.
    As a creator myself, its crazy how peoples moods can effect you so deeply. It's surreal for sure.

    I never know where your podcasts are gonna go, but they make me think. Today, you made me think about interacting with others, and you gave me more context of how I as a viewer can think of content creators as people, which allows an even deeper, cooler level of interaction with them than I would otherwise have been able to. And for that, I thank you both!
    No, you're not perfect, either of you! You don't have all the answers! And that's why listening is enjoyable. That's why I like trying to see where you're coming from, to see what I, as a fellow imperfect being, can learn from you.

    The reason I started following Impulse was because of the Boatem Town Guided Tours :D I'm not into redstone. I don't get it at all, but when it comes to Impulse I'm able to watch it, knowing he won't bore me, and he will do things that I'm more into later anyways. And the collabs are the things I love the most. Boatem was just amazing! It's the sole reason I started watching videos on youtube. Earlier I had just been watching tutorials when I had to, but I hated having to watch a video rather than read a tutorial. Then one day youtube suggested that I'd watch Grians first episode of Hermitcraft season 8. It didn't take long before I was subscribed to the entire Boatem, and I love them all for their own reasons. Being someone who has very few friends, and who only meets those few friends a couple of times a year, having my Hermits collabing feels like I get to be a part of a group. I feel like I get to belong somewhere. I know that the creator isn't talking to me spesificly, but it still makes me feel good. Sad as well though, I wish I had somewhere I belonged to, and people who would miss me if I didn't show up. But watching these collabs is the next best thing. Always value the people you meet on your journey, cause there's so many lonely people out there who would die to have what you have

    Oh my, I was watching part of that mario kart stream with my partner and was lucky enough to catch just enough to see Martyn win basically every time, including that moment where everyone got disconnected as soon as Impulse was about to win. We were in tears laughing and convinced it was rigged, but there was no evidence of it. All I'm saying is, well played Skizz, you managed to team up with the one person most likely to agree with your evil plans xD of course we also did feel really bad for Impulse getting robbed of that one win on his birthday, knowing how much it means to him and all, but at the same time that is what made it so funny too. I was impressed with how well Impulse handled losing every round tho, I'm sure it has taken a toooon of work to reach a point where you don't just rage quit and sulk, not saying that's what he usually does or anything, just fighting those feelings takes a lot of effort, and I'm happy to see him shake most of it off and be OK not winning.

I always wonder how much of the colab episodes and or streams are an act because you all don’t know eachother, but watching the life series, JITS, or even hermitcraft when y’all are just living on top of eachother and crashing into each others episodes it’s very easy to see how much you like eachother and that’s why I personally keep coming back.
    Along those lines though how do you prevent yourself from relying on the crutch of only talking to the one person you already know/vibe with in colabs?
    Also for Skizz, how do you flip that switch between feeling your feelings in the moment but not after? Do you ever have to talk to folks after a colab session to make sure things are clear and cool between you and another person?

    I remember watching the Mario Kart stream. Well I was watching Jimmy. But it was just so many people I wasn’t expecting. A lot of hermits and emperors. But also Martyn obviously as you mentioned, Joe Hills’ sister and AntFrost. AntFrost was a real left field inclusion there for me. He’s more in the DreamSMP crowd so it was super fun to see you guys playing with him. And I don’t see Quinn Hills all that much outside of Joe’s Streams.
    It was super fun to watch.
    Sidenote: Oli wasn’t going to Japan he was going to his granddad’s birthday.

    Regarding this topic you've talked about, the things you could never possibly script--
    I do Live Action Role Playing, or LARPing, and in that world we call it "LARP magic". LARP is very similar to a minecraft SMP, in that it's a lot of improv and running around trying to lift other people's stories by reacting positively and joining in when you see something going on. It's fantastic to learn all the parallels between these two worlds that you might think at a glance are very different.

    I was one of those people who didn't like skiz when I found him in the life series years ago. I hate saying this but I was of that mindset of not liking his "character". Seeing people as just Minecraft characters and skins can be tough, it's taken a while but I now see them as who they are behind the screen. Skiz is a stand up guy and probably one of the nicest in the group. My opinion has changed alot.

    I've heard you talk a bit about stuff like people-pleasing and setting up boundaries and stuff at work and personally i always like to hear other people's perspectives on this. There might be enough you would have to say on this to fill an episode.

    Everybody can get something different from Hermitcraft creators is true, but I have to say I have my different moods (like everybody) so what I want to watch also changes. Which sometimes means I wont watch the latest episode it comes out, I might wait a day or two.
    Which is just like the game itself. You could be in the mood to build something from a creative aspect, build something complex, just hanging out with friends, or just mining.
    The collaboration is the thing, with people I enjoy watching who are standing on their own do this group thing, I find that I am drawn to the dyanamic because it is feeding something on a more complex level. Primarily because it too fits a mood.

    Love the series guys! Would love to hear you take on how getting older (and you guys are getting older...mature??) plays into how you approach MC content. I'm an old guy that had the benefit of a son that introduced me to the game about 10 years ago. Been playing ever since with a lot of different personalities / age groups and have noticed how everyone approached the game in their own unique way. Keeps me interested and keeps me playing after all these years....

    I'm an adult in my 30s and I watch a lot of hermitcraft, empires, life series, as well as your twitch streams. It's so incredibly refreshing to hear adults be adults and not constantly censor themselves. I know we're not voting, but I really hope to see you guys take this podcast channel away from strictly family friendly content.

    Only best friend Skizz would be so mischievous to make it so you couldn't win Mario Kart on your birthday!! Haha! And now I know what the thumbnail was about too! lol
    And you might not have meant anything by the mention of Season 10 of Hermitcraft, Impulse, but really, I was already thinking that unless something major happens, Season 9 will come to a close in the near future.
    It has already gone on for a year, and had the major plot points of the King and Empires crossover. Now, the focus is mostly on finishing builds, playing games, and pranking. And there has been a significant break in episodes with a focus on Limited Life recently, so it really feels like Season 9 will end in the next couple months.
    It honestly felt odd getting back into Hermitcraft after falling behind on episodes that did come out during Limited Life. It sort of felt like it should've already been over and something new should be happening after the break Limited Life caused, but it's mostly just the continuation of season-long builds and also shops with some interaction with other hermits inbetween. It feels like the end of the Season is near and you're wrapping up builds and playing games other hermits have built this season, with some pranking inbetween.
    I love how collaboration has changed who all I watch. Years ago, I watched Grain for his building and Mumbo for his cool Redstone videos-I saw a couple of his Season 5 episodes, but didn't understand what Hermitcraft was at the time.
    So, if Grian hadn't been on Evo or joined Hermitcraft, I may have never figured out what Hermitcraft was, unless I still caught Mumbo at the beginning on season 6. And if it weren't for watching Grian and Mumbo, I may not have started watching Iskall and Scar in season 6 & 7, or started watching Impulse and Pearl as part of Boatem in season 8!
    And if I hadn't been watching Impulse, I may have never discovered Imp & Skizz's Naked & Scared and Skyblock, or Skizzleman's Limited Life episodes-which I ended up watching before other members' episodes by the end of the season! (And usually followed by Impulse, go TIES!)
    AND if I hadn't seen Imp & Skizz, I wouldn't have found my favorite podcast!! 🤯

    Great episode!
    Not sure if you've addressed this already and I haven't hit that episode yet, but I'd love to hear about how you guys constructively parse unconstructive negative comments.
    Like how do you determine when a negative comment should be ignored and when you can see that there's some underlying issue that needs to be acted on even if the commenter isn't articulating it specifically?
    Would love to hear a back and forth on that from your experiences
