I totally agree. I think it is so important!! I have an advanced degree (MBA) and I feel like it is good that even if young people plan to get a higher education they should learn something to do with their hands and learn to do it well. Anything from being a balloon artist a cake decorator, construction work, plumbing or even something more advanced like woodworking or glass making. Find something to do with your hands.
I tell the youth I am around this all the time and I plan to teach my children this as they get older.

You call yourself The Fixer. You should call yourself The Genius. I've done my share of remodeling for "high end" type clients. Have built things from scratch like a 4" thick glass floor over an old, late 1800's well. Accented with LED lighting for a retail store to a very non-traditional set of U shaped stairs with Stop Sign Post hand rails in a Center City apartment with very limited space. I just wanted to say that your level of expertise far exceeds most of the contractors who have ever lifted a hammer (that's ever). Like since, ever since the first hammer 🤔. I watched the whole video and looked down to see how long it was. I was so immersed I thought I had been watching for only 15 minutes. If people could appreciate what is truly involved in doing projects the right way. There would be more of an acknowledgement for gentleman, like yourself, who take the time and undying effort attending to the all the microscopic details. The challenges you take on are insane and you complete them surgically and meticulously. I can't say enough good things about your talent. Top notch stuff. I know your enjoying your house. I definitely enjoyed this video.

Memories. Lath and plaster demo for some of the remodel when we tore out the kitchen and then added a two story addition to a 100yr old arts and crafts house. Took two years with an architect a builder crew and the two of us helping with the clean up when we could so as to not slow him up. All new windows, siding, the addition, our forever home to age in place. We love it. You'll love yours too.
