  • This is my full review of the 27mm f2.8 for APS-C cameras from TTArtisan. It's a tiny lens, at a really affordable price point. But lets see if there's anything else to be said about it.

What do you guys think, is this lens something you'd like in your camera bag?

I got this lens about a month ago and am more than happy with it. The vignette is only evident wide open and can removed easily enough in post if you don't want it or need it. The flaring is an issue for sure but you can see it in the viewfinder and adjust your composition to minimise or eliminate it. A decent third party lens hood really helps too, the one they have included is pointless. I've updated to the latest firmware and the autofocus is fine . In fact I don't think it has misfocused on any of my shots since I updated. It's probably not quite as fast as my Fujifilm 35mm f2 XC but there isn't much in it. I'm very happy with the way the lens renders, which has a slight vintage feel but very sharp and with the benefits of autofocus.

Glad you're enjoying it! All valid points and yes definitely a nice vintage feel to it :)

For personal use, If I wanted that focal length and did not have the money to spend on the Fuji lenses it would be hard to not consider this. It is not a lens I would use for my professional work (as never going to use a 40mm eqv) but I can see it working great for a street photographer or a story teller, who does not necessarily need the "best" lens (define best however you want).
Quite possible a good option for someone moving from a mobile phone to a interchangeable lens camera and is on a tight budget and wants something wider than the Fuji XC 35mm F/2 which is a great lens at a fraction of the cost of the XF version

Thanks for stopping by. I fully agree and yes the XC 35mm might be the closest alternative to consider in the price range, albeit a bit tighter. Cheers!

For those with a silver body, most likely the Fujifilm shooter. Get the Titanium one it looks much less awkward imo..

Does adding a cpl filter or nd filter help with the flaring?

bro should i go for zve10 body as i need a 50 50 camera for photography and video and pair it with ttartisan 27mm f/2.8 sony or should i go with kit lens. and please give me the cheapest lens which can perform better and worth than a kit lens

What's up? Well I think you'd get more interesting results with the TTArtisan compared to the kit Sony lens but you'd be stuck at the 27mm focal length. So the kit one is still more versatile if we're talking about the 16-50mm lens.

@@MihaiStrömpl bro should i buy son Zv-e10 or sony 6400 or any other series as i'm in a tight budget . Cause it doesnt have an Evf but have gimple like stabalization too. I'm thinking to buy this because its under 62k INR 🇮🇳 with kit lens . Only body cost me 52k . But what do you suggest should i wait or arrange some 10 k more and buy canon R50 but it has not option for third party cheap lenses. So im stuck which to buy in sony a6100,a6400,a6600,ZvE-10 or R50 by canon

Do you have a Macbook? That's probably why you weren't able to upgrade the firmware. It's only supported on Windows
