This completes my Mario & Luigi battle remixes! Finally, all four normal battle themes remixed by yours truly 😎 - now just waiting to remix Brothership's battle theme!!
Ahh man, what a fantastic DS game. In fact, Bowser's Inside Story might be the best DS game in my honest opinion. Being able to play as Bowser & leveling him up while the brothers are inside was nothing short of a genius storyline.
Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story released in September 2009, which later had a 3DS remake + Bowser Jr.'s Journey, released in January 2019. Me, being the Mario & Luigi freak I am, obtain both versions! 😅
And before you all ask in the comments: yes, I am planning to remix In The Final! I've been meaning to remix In The Final for a while, but I never feel like my remix is up to the standard it deserves...curses, my perfectionist self!
This battle theme also has like 3 different titles; I believe the original DS soundtrack has the normal battle theme titled as "Oki Doki!!" - though I've seen it stylized as "Okey Dokey" or "Okie Dokie" & the remake version as "Here We Go! DX" - it's all very confusing, haha 😆

Bowser's inside story, one of the most unique Mario games. You go inside bower and fight cellular versions of enemies while Bowser has his own adventure. Amazing remix of the battle theme!

@@ProducerPlayer2 The Mario and Luigi saga has a very important emotional value for me, since the first game I played on my Nintendo DS when I was 4 years old was Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time and it is my favorite. Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story was the second game I played and although I also love it as much as Partners in Time, in my personal opinion I prefer the first one, but both are a jewel of games that I still play in my Nintendo DS that I used as a child. You did a great remix, congratulations!

OMG NOSTALGIA BOMB!!! Mario and Luigi: Bower’s Inside Story DX was my first M&L game, and this remix is filling me with memories both amazing and…slightly less amazing. Either way, amazing job! Also, I don’t want to be _that guy,_ but you’re forgetting a battle theme: Mixed-up Scramble from M&L Paper Jam. Whether you decide to remix it or not, I can’t wait for a Brothership remix!
Nostalgia is what it's all about!!! Glad this is hitting your nostalgia bone. OH that's right, to be honest I thought the Mixed-up Scramble theme was a tutorial battle that only played a few times. Last I remember Paper Jam used a remixed version of Superstar Saga's "Come On!" battle theme for their "normal battle" - either way, I'll need to revisit Paper Jam again...I'll add it to the list!

WOO-HOO!! This is _such_ a top-tier remix, and the whole production is tighter than the timing for advanced Bros. moves. For real, this has to be one of my favorites of yours, which is saying a lot, when you have a catalogue of well over 200 gems.
The percussive elements are always a strength among strengths in your music, and that 101% continues to be the case here, with incredibly punchy and clean drums and percussion. The snares are PERFECT in terms of both tone and balance, and I especially love the zappy layering that emerges in the final quarter of the remix - too good! The rapid kick rhythms really do it for me, too - I'm a sucker for dense, complex kick lines like you have here. I'm sincerely blown away by the sheer level of variety and density in the drums here, with so many different patterns and drum combinations. And the way you bridge them together with quick, yet complex fills and lead-ins really is unparalleled. For instance, that sequence from 0:41 - 0:44 is in a class of its own - so powerful and satisfying! And whereas something like that could easily be a standout moment that defines a remix, this is a core part of your sound that exemplifies your level of production. I might be gushing here, but if each remix you made was a Super Smash Bros. match, every measure could make it into a combo video. But that aside, I also want to mention that the SFX are so brilliantly utilized here - the clips at the aforementioned 0:41, 0:53, and 1:47 are among my favorites.
Your instrumentation here is immaculate, as well, and I love how it brings that signature P2 energy while paying homage to the original. The orchestral hits are a fantastic touch, and props for making such an unwieldy sound fit so neatly into this breakneck-speed arrangement - not an easy thing to do! I also really like the accordion lead, and how it switches into that stacked saw lead at 0:31, resulting in an immediate, yet not at all abrupt energy shift. Those upward runs are beautifully created here with charming instrument choices, and the layering with those (detuned?) mallets is a superb touch to capture that Mario & Luigi sound style! Also, I can't not mention that switch-up at 1:45, leading into the signature Player2 fake-out drop, and just how _cool_ it sounds - I had to repeat that one at least a half dozen times just to get my fill of it. 😁
As ever, the video is super fun and engaging to watch! You are truly the hardest-working man in the VGM remix community, to be able to produce such pristine-quality videos week after week, and the fact that you record, compile, and edit together gameplay footage for each visualizer really speaks to your commitment to VGM and to your love of video games. The different battle segments were a joy to watch, and now you're making me want to dust off the (3)DS and give this game another playthrough! In any case, the coordination between the SFX and video footage is tight, and I don't know if it's intentional or just happy coincidence, but I noticed that a lot of Mario & Luigi's attacks seem to land right on beats 2 and 4! Drum and Bass?... more like Drum and Bros!

Yeah I really outdid myself with the percussion on this one; especially considering it’s in the 170 BPM range, which in itself is already tough to program drum fills with how fast it is! The fast kicks were kinda hilarious when I first implemented them but I was like, “wait, it actually works!” haha 😆 - due to the hi-paced nature of this song I actually kept the SFX on the tamer side, I didn’t want to overflow the mix with too much, but just a subtle about to get the nostalgia burning!!
What’s funny about when you mention Smash Bros. - weirdly enough I always think about making sure my remixes would fit in a Smash compilation video setting - that’s another reason why I’m so passionate about preserving the originality of the soundtracks! So when you go into the sound test section of Smash Ultimate and you come across a song that’s labeled as a “remix” - mine would be considered just another version!
And man, I gotta admit if it weren’t for my true love for this, I would not be nearly as fast as I am at doing. Now, I’ve also been uploading weekly remixes for about 2 years (WOW!) so thankfully I’ve implemented a _ton_ of preset templates to speed up not just my music production but also video editing. And you should absolutely dust off your 3DS & give this game another playthrough!!!

This is so similar to the original and it manages to be even better! Anyway your remixes in general are amazing, I discovered you some months ago from an ad of your remix of the Mario RPG forest and from then I added a lot of them to my playlist (especially the Mario Kart ones, those really slaps). I hope one day you will remix some track from Megaman X4, since I saw you made some Megaman remixes and that game is known to have an OST full of synths. Keep up the good work!
