  • Adolf Hitler wakes up to find himself in the 21st century where his bunker used to be, with no memory of anything after 1945. Interpreting modern situations from a Nazi perspective, he finds fame and success as a comedian.

You know, thank you for sharing that, from what I've learned about Hitler he just becomes more of an enigma to me in all regards. He persecuted Jews yet befriended them (as a homeless man in Bavaria and in 1936). He seems to always contradict the popular belief he was only evil yet also reinforces the idea he was only evil; everything he did seemed to be on the contrary to other things he did and considering Charlie Chaplin didn't like Hitler, it is crazy to think Hitler's favorite movie was the same thing that made fun of him.,

I discovered with horror that I was taking the side of Hitler and was actually displeased for his first drop of popularity.
The movie makes you understand how fascinating can a charismatic character be and how difficult it is to understand what is really going on when you are so easily deceived. When we see his human side and his strong personality, it is easy to forget who this man really is and what pain he brought in the world. This movie delivered perfectly the purpose, and it's really disturbing.

I haven't seen this movie, but just based on this clip, it's clear that the scene where they are discussing "the massive loss that the company has gone through" is a spoof of the bunker scene in "Downfall." The way the people are standing, the way he takes his glasses off while his hand is shaking. I'd put money on it even though I've never seen this movie. The studio boss has become the thing he despised/feared...just like Hitler in real life...so clever. 😊

This movie seems to perfectly pinpoint how humans take immense effort to care deeply for the few good traits in evil villains, while completely overlooking hundreds of good traits in good fellows. We are deeply offended if a murderer gets one more year in prison than he deserves and spend days in debates, whether he deserves a radio in a cell or not, but we don't care at all if thousands of fairly good people die horribly in just one small local war.

The apartment complex was built on top of the remains in 1987 after the Red Army started blowing it up in 1947. It was further destroyed in 1986 and 1987 when the East German Government decided to make use of the space in the very center of Berlin to create dearly needed apartments for East German families. After the end of the Berlin Wall just some years later the area was yet again redeveloped - now the Mall of Berlin is right behind that apartment block which survived the redevelopment of the area around the Potsdamer Platz.

As someone who has watched hours and hours of WWII docs, footage and the Nuremberg trials in it’s entirety.. I feel comfortable saying that if Hitler did magically appear, he would be angry at the loss of what he envisioned Germany to be, enough to isolate and become depressed. He would likely justify his actions until he then re-disappears or dies. This is what his life’s work was dedicated to and it’s all gone, so I definitely don’t foresee a change of heart all of the sudden. Most of those at the trials felt no remorse, it’s very likely the leader of the pack who orchestrated all the death and war would have even less remorse. That said, I do think he would be in awe over advancements in technology and Germany’s rebuilding. There’s lots of evidence that he was easily impressed with inventions/new tech.
