- The African National Congress could lose the parliamentary majority it has held for 30 years, thats what partial results from South Africa's national election indicate.
This would mark most dramatic political shift in the country since the end of apartheid.
But in the key battleground province of KwaZulu-Natal - former president Jacob Zuma’s supporters have welcomed his party’s early lead in the province--which is the ruling party's stronghold.
