There are simply too many similarities and parallels in not only concepts, but full on plots and character archetypes not to be able to. For example, every main pony has a Primarch/legion parallel: Twilight to Guilliman, Rarity to Fulgrim, Applejack to Dorn, Dash to Khan, Fluttershy to Vulkan, Sunset to Magnus, Cadence to Sanguinius, Celestia to The Emperor and Luna to Horus. Pinkie is the only one that is more of an outlier, as she would fit in more with the Orks with less of an emphasis on violence, but I've seen some people link her to Russ. And the enemies too, I've seen Discord depicted as a Tzeentch or Undivided daemon, Tirek as Khornate, Chrysalis and the Changelings as Tyranids/Genestealers, Diamond Dogs are Orks, etc etc.
I know that this is an April Fool's but I give him credit for putting the effort in a joke well Dev can't even be bothered after 2 years now to make a fucking truckers video with any depth.

To be fair, Luna didn't go mad over something like pancakes. She felt slighted because everyone enjoyed the day her sister brought, but slept through the night that she brought. So, something eventually snapped and she decided to make an eternal night.
It's a pretty simplistic overview that we get. There could have been a lot more happening, or it really could have been that short and sweet. I'd like to think that if they were going to devote more time to that period, then thing would be a little bit more complicated.
@MnemonicHack Tis a fair point. There could have been disagreements between the two, and that resentment kept building in the background till something had to give. Would be interesting to get a look in at that time period, though.
Worth noting that she also spent that nighttime battling the literal nightmares of ponies' dreams. I suspect a big part of what drove her crazy was the stress of her job, on top of the lack of acknowledgment.
Yeah, i feel Twilight going bonkers evil crazy could very much have happened, she was allways at her best when she could rely on her friends, not only for magical power, but also as a moral compass, remove that and Twily might over time start to slip, not a very good combination with a full alicorns power and looooong time to buff upp on magic. She and a certain gent from another universe called Horus would probably get eachother quiet well.
There are some. Baccano! is the easiest example that comes to mind. Although its more like how much it would suck if you were captured as an immortal and less about losing loved ones. Its probably the most hardcore one though. There is also Itsuka Tenma no Kuro Usagi which does this a lot more early on. Frieren is more about outliving your friends whereas Bakemonogatari takes a more melancholic romance twist as the ultimate end is being together forever with one's one and only regardless of how they wish to live the rest of the time they would have had if still mortal.

Can attest to that, I've seen brony lore\theory videos with less detail & research. Never mind production quality, they'd get facts wrong. Granted they'd be uncommon or lesser known, but something you'd think a lore\theory channel would know.
Hasbro should have taken the Guardians of Harmony thing to a full blown spinoff for a bit more action oriented crowd. There is potential in there with the lore, within the confines of a cartoon reminiscent of the 90s in that it could not be taken all that seriously. It would have been highly entertaining. We also got some good fanon materials, no not FOE, but smaller things like alternative takes on the lore (of which nobody is alive in the series to have witnessed it except the ones it is about and thus is ripe for being manufactured), or just cool imaginings how things happened (Celestia and Luna taking on Sombra and others in the old days), etc. Love it or hate it, G4 was the height of the series, not before not since has it reached such accolades.
I’m a fan of the theory that discord is actually malal or malice from the warhammer universe who transported himself to the Mlp universe because he got tired of being the god of ruin and anarchy in 40k because it was much too grimdark for him, and instead chose to retire as the spirit of chaos in ponyland instead.
Honestly, that general idea of the retired true god is very fitting for Discord. He's only shown being defeated twice in the whole show if I remember right and there's a good chance that that was just pageantry. His power makes it so he could, if he wished, just eviscerate whole cities in a nano-second. Hell, there are whole darkfics and grimdark-fics centred around the idea of if Discord was a bit more violent or was actually out to WIN. The only reason he stops being an issue....is because he chooses to.

To be fair to Celestia, there was the entire 1000-year-long period where seemingly no threats reemerge from. Any major threats to Equestria either are products of modern times (Chrysalis) or always wee sealed or banished or whatever before the banishing of Luna. One does wonder what Celestia did during that period of time to ensure that peace was ensured. I'm willing to bet that she instituted a zero tolerance policy to any potential threats in prder to protect her people, but her discipline breaks when she discovers that Luna is back, since she could have been afraid of what her sister would think of her rule and wanted to revert to the way that Luna would be familiar with. Maybe she reasoned that with both of them around, they could afford to be more lax.

I don't know what you mean. They stopped making MLP after G4. Nope, never made another one. Shame, really, it could have been so good, but then again maybe it's a blessing they stopped at the peak. I've long thought that Celestia's biggest mistake was making Twilight hers and Luna's successor as ruler of Equestria, because clearly she ended up running into the ground within a few generations. A country that prospered over 1,000 years falls within a few hundred of her stepping down. Trying to connect the dots from G4 to G5 is both so convoluted and disheartening though, that now I simply hold that G5 must take place in an alternate mirror Equestria (of which there are canonically many in the comics), and that the Twilight of G4 did not cause Equestria to fall to the state we se at the beginning of A New Generation. An alternate Twilight in a world of different geography, species, magic and laws of physics, was the one who did.
One of the underlying issues of dissonance in the series seems to be that of law versus chaos, individuality and freedom versus collectivism. It could be said that Celestia as an extreme force of law banished the "chaos god" Discord (elemental freedom) and then enshrined absolute law and obedience in accordance with her poorly thought out brand of order, just look at the tyranny of the cutie marks. This predetermined mark on your flank determines your entire future and place in society which she almost certainly controls via her godlike magic. Equestria's reality WILL punish you if you derivate from that path. It is praiseworthy that they actually did an anti-communism episode based on the abuse of cutie marks in the "old" show which demonstrates the damage this does to a society. Like all long lived tyrannical systems though, the victors write the history books. We will never know what methods that she employed to "reform" society, the large scale "struggle sessions" and the eventually disagreement, conflict and banishment of her own sister (this can be read as a coup against a co-ruler, or even dissolution of the checks and balances of a governmental system). Seen in this way Equestria looks like more like a failed state ruled by an all powerful incompetent dictator rather than a magical kingdom.
NOW COME ON. Any real brony is gonna know that you invoke "nuclear armageddon" as the supposed alternate ending to MLP is _clearly_ a reference to Fallout Equestria!

To be fair, Luna didn't go mad over something like pancakes. She felt slighted because everyone enjoyed the day her sister brought, but slept through the night that she brought. So, something eventually snapped and she decided to make an eternal night.
It's a pretty simplistic overview that we get. There could have been a lot more happening, or it really could have been that short and sweet. I'd like to think that if they were going to devote more time to that period, then thing would be a little bit more complicated.

There are some.
Baccano! is the easiest example that comes to mind. Although its more like how much it would suck if you were captured as an immortal and less about losing loved ones.
Its probably the most hardcore one though. There is also Itsuka Tenma no Kuro Usagi which does this a lot more early on.
Frieren is more about outliving your friends whereas Bakemonogatari takes a more melancholic romance twist as the ultimate end is being together forever with one's one and only regardless of how they wish to live the rest of the time they would have had if still mortal.

Hasbro should have taken the Guardians of Harmony thing to a full blown spinoff for a bit more action oriented crowd. There is potential in there with the lore, within the confines of a cartoon reminiscent of the 90s in that it could not be taken all that seriously. It would have been highly entertaining. We also got some good fanon materials, no not FOE, but smaller things like alternative takes on the lore (of which nobody is alive in the series to have witnessed it except the ones it is about and thus is ripe for being manufactured), or just cool imaginings how things happened (Celestia and Luna taking on Sombra and others in the old days), etc. Love it or hate it, G4 was the height of the series, not before not since has it reached such accolades.
I’m a fan of the theory that discord is actually malal or malice from the warhammer universe who transported himself to the Mlp universe because he got tired of being the god of ruin and anarchy in 40k because it was much too grimdark for him, and instead chose to retire as the spirit of chaos in ponyland instead.
Honestly, that general idea of the retired true god is very fitting for Discord. He's only shown being defeated twice in the whole show if I remember right and there's a good chance that that was just pageantry. His power makes it so he could, if he wished, just eviscerate whole cities in a nano-second. Hell, there are whole darkfics and grimdark-fics centred around the idea of if Discord was a bit more violent or was actually out to WIN. The only reason he stops being an issue....is because he chooses to.
another very important question: why does it seem that the au where nightmare moon won was more harmonious that equestria when twilight ruled? yes i am biased towards the moon pony, but after seeing her pull a cozy glow in the cannon comics which lead to the new series (along with everying else that happend in the comics), you could fairly well make this argument.

Not gonna lie, I'm unironically looking to get a PC so I can get HOI4. JUST FOR EaW. It seems to be very interesting depth and well thought out and my favourite villains, the Sirens, apparently get their own cool little path if you make the right choices.

Season 1 and 2 were amaising, season 3, was meh, from there, the two last seasons, i mean Starligth Gleamer was really good and the final episodes of her battle with Twiligth were really good, and the one where she was introduce were not so much funny but intresting, but that was it, final season the idea of Discord one moment understanding and then creating a villan league kind of sort, really didnt make sense at all, but is like you said seaosns 1 and 2 were amaising and seaosn 3, when Faust was relegated to asistant well take a nose dive, gen 5 continue same universe, how, so why the F we watch gen 4

To be fair to Celestia, there was the entire 1000-year-long period where seemingly no threats reemerge from. Any major threats to Equestria either are products of modern times (Chrysalis) or always wee sealed or banished or whatever before the banishing of Luna.
One does wonder what Celestia did during that period of time to ensure that peace was ensured. I'm willing to bet that she instituted a zero tolerance policy to any potential threats in prder to protect her people, but her discipline breaks when she discovers that Luna is back, since she could have been afraid of what her sister would think of her rule and wanted to revert to the way that Luna would be familiar with. Maybe she reasoned that with both of them around, they could afford to be more lax.
We don’t talk about G5. Only G4. And occasianly G1.

I don't know what you mean. They stopped making MLP after G4. Nope, never made another one. Shame, really, it could have been so good, but then again maybe it's a blessing they stopped at the peak. I've long thought that Celestia's biggest mistake was making Twilight hers and Luna's successor as ruler of Equestria, because clearly she ended up running into the ground within a few generations. A country that prospered over 1,000 years falls within a few hundred of her stepping down.
Trying to connect the dots from G4 to G5 is both so convoluted and disheartening though, that now I simply hold that G5 must take place in an alternate mirror Equestria (of which there are canonically many in the comics), and that the Twilight of G4 did not cause Equestria to fall to the state we se at the beginning of A New Generation. An alternate Twilight in a world of different geography, species, magic and laws of physics, was the one who did.

One of the underlying issues of dissonance in the series seems to be that of law versus chaos, individuality and freedom versus collectivism. It could be said that Celestia as an extreme force of law banished the "chaos god" Discord (elemental freedom) and then enshrined absolute law and obedience in accordance with her poorly thought out brand of order, just look at the tyranny of the cutie marks.
This predetermined mark on your flank determines your entire future and place in society which she almost certainly controls via her godlike magic. Equestria's reality WILL punish you if you derivate from that path. It is praiseworthy that they actually did an anti-communism episode based on the abuse of cutie marks in the "old" show which demonstrates the damage this does to a society.
Like all long lived tyrannical systems though, the victors write the history books. We will never know what methods that she employed to "reform" society, the large scale "struggle sessions" and the eventually disagreement, conflict and banishment of her own sister (this can be read as a coup against a co-ruler, or even dissolution of the checks and balances of a governmental system). Seen in this way Equestria looks like more like a failed state ruled by an all powerful incompetent dictator rather than a magical kingdom.
