Thanks! I tried my best to give it a little bit of everything. The floating and tilting box was definitely interesting. It would have been cool to have 2 camera on at the same time, one following her, one following the box, and then cut the footage back and forth between them, or perhaps put them Picture-In-Picture. Artists need to give me free reign to record stuff for them. I have so many ideas!
Sadly it is very unlikely there will be one. She doesn't have 2 nights at the same arena anywhere, which is pretty much a necessity for filming these days. (Need 2 performances both to choose the best bits from each one, as well as have coverage in case something goes wrong at any point during either performance.) Although they *could* just rely on one performance and hope nothing goes wrong, most labels/studios/etc don't want to invest in something without a backup, especially when it costs so much for the equipment needed. Plus to do it properly they need equipment, although honestly I think you could do a very personal and professional version pretty much the way I did it, from the point of view of the crowd, you would just want 2 or 3 cameras filming, so you can get it from all angles on the stage, a proper sound recorder (so you can get her full sound without people talking and cheering over parts, then a separate sound recording for the crowd so you can mix the cheering/etc in where appropriate,) and access to move around without being hindered. They just need to call me and I would be happy to do it all! I wouldn't even charge them for my time! I would just like to see good artists get recognized for their talent and showcase to everyone what they are fully capable of.
omg I had no idea how difficult it is. Why must everything be so "perfect"? Have you ever tried to contact UNIVERSAL? I wrote to info@universal-music.de
It probably doesn't really need to be overly complicated. Theoretically you could probably do a pretty decent job just using my professional camera (which I wasn't allowed to bring to the concert), an audio recorder that can jack into the sound system (to get pure clean sound) like the small compact Zoom H6, and access to be allowed to move around and film, but generally speaking, studios and labels like to either go big and make it a full-on production or not do it all. I can understand where they are coming from, because although my videos are nowhere near perfect, I strive for perfection while I'm doing them. Like I couldn't really tell while filming just how much she was going out of focus throughout the videos and I felt upset at myself over that. That is the type of thing you need a larger external screen for. No, I've never contacted Universal or any of the other major studios/labels. I highly doubt they would let me do anything, even if it would be beneficial to them. I'm sure they have their own people they *could* use if they were really interested in doing that stuff. I did try to ask one venue if I could use my professional camera at one point, solely to help the artist, (since I never monetise any of my videos or anything,) and they said no. It would be awesome if at some point they saw my stuff and actually wanted me to help them though!
I kind of doubt she will do another version of the song seeing as a studio version was already released and it is an old(er) song now. I am glad she added it to the tour the way she did though!
Sadly I kind of doubt she will put another version of it on anything since the song was written and released for a movie soundtrack, but it is great that another version exists at least!
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoy it. I try to do my best to keep the quality as high as possible. I would give anything to do some actual true "official" videos for an artist or artists.
Verse 1] I'm a princess cut from marble, smoother than a storm And the scars that mark my body, they're silver and gold My blood is a flood of rubies, precious stones It keeps my veins hot, the fire's found a home in me I move through town, I’m quiet like a fight And my necklace is of rope, I tie it and untie it [Pre-Chorus 1] And now people talk to me, but nothing ever hits home People talk to me, and all the voices just burn holes I’m done with it (ooh) [Chorus] This is the start of how it all ends They used to shout my name, now they whisper it I'm speeding up and this is the Red, orange, yellow flicker beat sparking up my heart We’re at the start, the colors disappear I never watch the stars, there’s so much down here So I just try to keep up with them Red, orange, yellow flicker beat sparking up my heart [Verse 2] I dream all year, but they're not the sweet kinds And the shivers move down my shoulder blades in double time [Pre-Chorus 2] And now people talk to me I'm slipping out of reach now People talk to me, and all their faces blur But I got my fingers laced together and I made a little prison And I'm locking up everyone who ever laid a finger on me I’m done with it (ooh) [Chorus] This is the start of how it all ends They used to shout my name, now they whisper it I'm speeding up and this is the Red, orange, yellow flicker beat sparking up my heart We’re at the start, the colors disappear I never watch the stars, there’s so much down here So I just try to keep up with them Red, orange, yellow flicker beat sparking up my heart [Outro] And this is the red, orange, yellow flicker beat Sparking up my heart And this is the red, orange, yellow flicker beat-beat-beat-beat
That is sad to hear, but it doesn't completely surprise me. Artists quite often alter their setlists as they go through the tour for different reasons. Sometimes they change songs for others, sometimes they get bored of certain songs, sometimes songs just get too emotional for them to sing properly and sometimes they just find that the setlist is far too long for them to sing every night. Dua Lipa cut out one or two of her songs during her last few shows, (including the Vancouver show,) and someone asked her about it at the Meet & Greet and considering it was her first solo tour, she said the setlist she started with was too long for her to perform every night so she needed to cut it slightly. Things like that are always sad, especially when you miss out on hearing songs you were really hoping to hear, but unfortunately it isn't all that rare, especially the later into a tour things get. It is a nice surprise when they sometimes play a different song, or cover though instead.
I'm sorry to hear that. :-( At least there is something that you can watch to see it now. I know nothing makes up for the experience live, but hopefully the video will at least compensate a little bit.
Sadly, one of the biggest problems with tours is the hard decisions that have to be made and the large chunk of fans that don't get the chance to live the experience, especially in some countries. I know I've been pretty lucky that I live in Canada, close to one of the two major cities that get (most) large concerts, although it seems lately there are more and more artists who aren't coming here either for some reason and it is starting to get frustrating, so I can only imagine what it is like in other places that might get only a fraction of the tours, (if any of the tours at all,) that we get.
To me, you did the video excellent. This is maybe her most mysterious song, and thnks to her performance, the mystery becomes real. I love it!

I requested UNIVERSAL for a professional DVD, but got no answer yet.

My favourite song of hers. I love this mix! That siren is perfect
I love the siren
Verse 1]
I'm a princess cut from marble, smoother than a storm
And the scars that mark my body, they're silver and gold
My blood is a flood of rubies, precious stones
It keeps my veins hot, the fire's found a home in me
I move through town, I’m quiet like a fight
And my necklace is of rope, I tie it and untie it
[Pre-Chorus 1]
And now people talk to me, but nothing ever hits home
People talk to me, and all the voices just burn holes
I’m done with it (ooh)
[Chorus]
This is the start of how it all ends
They used to shout my name, now they whisper it
I'm speeding up and this is the
Red, orange, yellow flicker beat sparking up my heart
We’re at the start, the colors disappear
I never watch the stars, there’s so much down here
So I just try to keep up with them
Red, orange, yellow flicker beat sparking up my heart
[Verse 2]
I dream all year, but they're not the sweet kinds
And the shivers move down my shoulder blades in double time
[Pre-Chorus 2]
And now people talk to me I'm slipping out of reach now
People talk to me, and all their faces blur
But I got my fingers laced together and I made a little prison
And I'm locking up everyone who ever laid a finger on me
I’m done with it (ooh)
[Outro]
And this is the red, orange, yellow flicker beat
Sparking up my heart
And this is the red, orange, yellow flicker beat-beat-beat-beat
i may play this on repeat forever
Wow! The Vancouver set list has so many more songs... In Toronto, she didn't play Magnets or Yellow Flicker Beat...
That is sad to hear, but it doesn't completely surprise me. Artists quite often alter their setlists as they go through the tour for different reasons.
