What happened to Wasaga Beach before, during and after the pandemic.
From 2018 to 2023, several changes took place at Wasaga Beach.
Changes such as cars and motorcycles not having access to Beach Drive, beach sand strip becoming narrower or wider, beach car lane becoming sand strip, access control for beachgoers to the beach.
In 2018, Wasaga Beach Drive had access and parking for cars and motorcycles, lane for cyclists and pedestrians and wide strip of sand.
In 2019, Wasaga Beach Drive continued to have car and motorcycle access, pedestrian and bicycle access. The strip of sand on the beach has shrunk.
In 2020, the first year of the pandemic, the Wasaga Beach Drive car and motorbike lane became a sand strip on the beach.
Wasaga Beach Summer 2020: access to the beach has been closed, the number of beach goers started to be controlled, everyone had to wear a bracelet to access the sand of the beach, physical distancing was required.
In 2021 the sand band got wider. The Wasaga Beach Drive car and motorcycle lane continued to be a strip of sand on the beach. Beachgoers were advised to keep physical distancing.
In 2022 the sand band got a little wider. Cars and motorcycles continued to be denied access to Beach Drive.
In 2023 cars and motorcycles returned to have access to Wasaga Beach Drive
