I just found this channel and watching this video is almost relaxing! More videos like these please! Definitely subscribing and hoping I learn a thing or 2.
I have just been through this exact process on a Meta AM 29 in the exact same colour way! After riding it for a while I’ve now replaced almost every part, but this video takes me back!
@TK-OK It doesn't have to be 35mm, i just put lever wherever i feel like is the most comfortable position for my hand and measure that distance from the grip, so i can have 100% symmetrical cockpit.
If you want to spray paint a whole frame, than definitely apply primer before a paint! It should hold up for quite some time if you do it correctly but it will never be as durable as the factory paint, just so you know
Thank you for the support anyway! Unfortunately my website wont be active for some time due to a reconstruction ;( But you can always show some love through the supper thanks on youtube :)
@polyushkopole5292 Good question! You should actually always do that first, but when filming these restoration videos i never do, because i think it makes the process a little bit more enjoyable and fun to watch 😊
Well i dont agree with that because this bike was ruined and keep in mind it was bought one year ago, i fixed eveything wrong with it(there was a lot more that i didnt record at all!) and made sure it was running and looking as good as it came from the shop! So thats a restoration, by google's definiton restoration is :"the action of returning something to a former owner, place, or condition" Which is exactly what i did in this video ;)
Pozdrawiam
@@Piotr-vn1hi I literally did what you have just said 😂 I painted all the scratches on the bike and put on a new factory decals for fork and rims.. as well as a bonus frame protection..
Why dont greas on a headset, and the screws. And ahead cup under why not clean? Everything just a half clean! You should not imitate this at home, because it is not enough!
You're gonna have to define your version of restoration. He fixed all the problems and got the bike back to full working condition. Maintenance would be checking for wear, regreasing, tightening bolts etc, re-truing wheels/gears if needed, clean/polish (ie maintaining a working bike's working order).
Just like someone already replied to you, this is much more than a "basic 50hrs maintenance" I will remind you that the bike was bought brand new last year, and after such a short period of time bike was destroyed, it wasnt ridable, only thing positive about it was shifting.. I fixed every issue there was(there was a lot more issues that i didnt even record) and made sure it looked and rode like a bike that was bought one year ago from store! Also here is a googl's definition of word restoration : "the action of returning something to a former owner, place, or condition" Which is literally exactly what i did with this bike in this video ;)
Nope! Nobody lied to me, and also i didn't lie to anybody. If you don't belive me go to commencal's official website and take a look at the price for Meta HT AM Hardtail! This bike was bought brand new as i said in the video for $2200! And most of the parts were upgraded for a better components!!
Hope you Liked This One!

I bought same Commencal Meta HT keswick green for $600. Super bike for the money
Great bike my friend have the same
@@MTBmaroc thanks its good
So what's the big catch , that you had to clean it up and replace some parts ?
I Have the Same Frame protection Stickers on my bike too
Why not any new bolts? That makes alot of difference.
@Exstaz i did change a lot of the bolts but i didnt put a brand new ones because i couldn't find the right ones at moment of filming this video..
I recently bought a trek Roscoe 7 2020 like brand new condition for £300 and I'm super happy with it 😊👌🏻
For scratches i used a marker for frame it is basicaly a paint for aluminium is so good.
SPORTPENS is the name
Nail polish works quite well for covering scratches
instead of a spray bottle, use PB blast with a nozzle...evaporates when dry.
500$ for that bike is a great price ;)
35mm spacing for levers. from end of grip ?
Have never seen measured but makes a lot of sense 👍

My friend, I have a bike that I want to paint. If I spray paint it like you, will it hold well and do you apply primer before painting?

Commencal Meta for $500? 😮 nice

This isn't a restoration... u just do basic 50hrs maintenance, change some decals and clean.
