The bike is all new, but the frame. He has only restored the frame, and he did not even do a good job with that. Also that is a very cheap metal frame. Really not worth, none of it.
Just did my own strip down, and complete rebuild of a junker bike I found. Very rewarding. Converted from SRAM to Shimano Altus. I kept it as raw aluminum and clear coated it.
Wow, it's incredible how a rusty bike can be restored into a high performance machine! I'm impressed with every upgrade, from the drivetrain to the hydraulic brakes and custom paint job. Can't wait to see it on the track!
What an amazing transformation! Watching the process of turning that rusty old two-wheeler into a high-end beast is truly impressive. 🚲✨ The attention to detail and creativity involved is inspiring. Huge shoutout to @CoggieBike for this incredible journey from start to finish
Love the anodized purple accents that hark back to the early-90s MTB scene! The chain looks like it could do with less links, though, considering it's a 1X drivetrain and will require more spring tension at the RD arm. Beautiful build, reminds me of a similar build I did during the Covid lockdowns, using parts from Aliexpress and other online shopping platforms to bring my old bike back to life as a gravel bike. However, it would appear that this builder made the same mistake that I made - using a "shorty" stem on a retro frame with a gravel bar. Bro, you're just gonna hit your knee against those handlebars at every turn. It's the geometry of these retro frames itself that's the issue. These frames used to come with 4-inch or 5-inch stems with a rise of roughly 7-15 degrees or so. We can't put shorty stems on them. I ended up getting a nice brushed aluminium 4" stem with 10-degree rise for my build and it rode perfectly.

When removing the handlebar stem you undo the bolt about an inch and knock the bolt down with an hammer. It works like a wall plug . My grandad had a bike shop
In a buy & throw economy ppl always buy the cutest, new & modern stuff. Even when the stuff is still usable ppl just throw it away instead of doing maintenance & restoration. It used to be buy once & past down through the generations. It is build to last with history, memories sometimes auction off as an antique limited edition never to be repeated, collector item trade & hobby tribe, group, community. When I see it looks like new video whether lawn, run down houses, boat, branded wallet, etc anything can be fix, restored, preserved & you learn to appreciate rather than throw away like garbage to the landfill.
I just rescued a HARO V1, 2002 I believe, all aluminum. A lady had it in her backyard, kids grew up and abandoned it. And when I saw it, it was a sad scene, they had painted half the bike "Lil Tyke" blue and putted on various enormous white and red reflective stickers, it looked like clowns bicycle, so I was about to discard it and then a rode it, and that was it: I fell in love with the smooth ride, so I bought it for $20 dollars and brought it home with my other two rides and I have turned it into my little project, and I'm restoring it. I'm low on my budget, so I'm recycling parts and painting it gray and black, also painting the brakes, changing pedals and cables, cleaning the cassette and chain, and It's starting to look good again. Restoring a bike is regularly more expensive than buying a new one, or used one, but, when you get a connection with a ride, it's magic, so it becomes a personal project, no matter if it gets a little expensive because I'm going slow, buying this and that and enjoying it. Thanks for the video, awesome job.
Absolutely mind-blowing transformation! 🚴♂✨ Watching this rusty bike become a high-end machine was so satisfying-hats off to the CoggieBike crew! Anyone else love these kinds of complete makeovers? Comment if you’re addicted to watching these!
I always love a good restoration video, whether it's a vehicle, a house, or whatever. But, a question for bike people: was that frame and derailleur worth saving? I'd have probably left off all the decals and just gone with the clean look.
This video is a scam he switched bikes. It started as a v brake bike then switched to a disc brake bike. First frame doesn’t have disc mounts. Nice try.

Some seriously good skills shown here but I’m not sure I would spend that much time and money on a rusty frame like that! I would also put some rust converter on before painting the frame.
