I would not buy a Tahoe for these prices it's crazy. I priced out a 2020 LT - MSRP was $60,475 dealer was discounting by $5k and my interest rate was 1.9% for 60 months, doc fee was $699 plus 6.6% taxes OTD $59,881 - less $10k down payment - payments were $872!
Great breakdown of payments. My sister in law use to work in Ford's finance department & she once told me that all most people are concerned about is their monthly payment regardless of the price of the vehicle. Personally, I can't even imagine having an 800+ monthly payment for 5 or 6 yrs. But I guess many people don't mind it at all. I remember way back in '79 when I was a mechanic for Chevy i ordered a new '79 Camaro Z28 fully loaded. The car stickered for around 11ish & with the employee discount I paid around 7,000 with a monthly payment somewhere around 130.00 per month. Man have times changed or what. When i retired in '13 I purchased a new '12 Ford Taurus Limited fully loaded as a retirement gift to myself. The car stickered at around 40,000. Since they were clearing out the '12 models to make room for the '13's through negations & with my father in law employee discount I paid around 22,000 & paid cash saving a ton of money. Quite the savings indeed. I couldn't pass that up. To date that car has been one of the best & most trouble free reliable vehicle's I've ever owned. Never had been a Ford man until then. Ha, that's when I became a Ford guy. Absolutely love the car. Smooth riding, comfortable, easy handling & the most quiet & by that I mean absolutely no road noise or other traffic noise whatsoever...with the exception of a semi truck passing. Probably will be the last car I will ever buy.
This is a great breakdown of reality. I do believe the interest rates are a little high. You can get mid to low 3's pretty easily for 60, even 72 month financing right now. However, on top of the breakdown that Mike puts together, you still have not factored in the cost of the extended warranty, paint protection, etc.
That is true, but there are a lot of people who don't have rates like that. Then the question would be, why look for a car your can't afford lol.. But reality is they would still like to get into a car like this

Miracle Man I co own and work for Chevy dealers. We are not discounting and all of the dealers around Metro Detroit, which is known as discount city, are not negotiating. The demand is so high they’re selling at sticker off the truck. If you can’t afford it, wait a few years and buy one then.

This makes sense when Dave says, take that car payment and put it into your 401k, ira, index funds. 20 years ago those suv would of been 500 a month. Every 10 years, those vehicles just keep going up. I rather buy boats, atv, sxs, jet ski toys and vacation trips. Not worth buying these vehicles What I do these days is rent. Spring, summer, winter trips. Just cheaper
I hope everyone realizes these monthly payments assume you're not putting anything down or trading anything in. I just customized my own on Chevy's site being a Z71 with a couple extra things. With a considerable down payment (which everyone should make) and trade in using his same APR, I'd be looking at $785/month @ 72 months. I just did this for fun. The only thing Chevy sells that I'm interested in is a Corvette.
I have a budget of $1100 for vehicles Wich is $450 for my 2019 Silverado and $610 for wife's new pathfinder. When I'm done with those I'll get a Z71 Tahoe for myself as a baby.

These cars are absolutely worth the money. Why? Because people keep buying them (financing them). Value is what someone is willing to pay. That aside, Tahoes aren't the fastest depreciating vehicles out there, especially in this market. With all that, I still say buy used, but some people can't find what they want right now.
If GM, Ford, Chrysler would offer a truck or SUV with manual door locks, crank windows, am/fm stereo, and an air conditioner....and nothing else....like in the old days.....id gladly pay $15,000-$$20,000 cash for a new truck.

Do you recommend selling a leased vehicle if you are near the end of your lease term? We have a 2018 X5 with only 13,000 miles and wanted to either sell it out right, or trade in at a different dealer ie Volvo and see if we can make some money in the process. You're thoughts Chevy Dude....!!!
So now they come in diesel. I have had my diesel truck gel up while driving it. Not fun when you have three tired whiney kids and three tired cranky horses, and just trying to get home. Is there some way the Tahoe has to prevent the cold gel up?
Omg that is expensive... the last model better looking.. the average joe can't afford this payment. Im better off buying house instead... thanks for the info thou.
New to the Channel! Appreciate all the insight and tips. I have a question regarding price reduction if your finance through the dealership. I’m in the process of buying 2 new Vehicles, but continue to get the price raised on me (around $2k-$4k higher) due to me wanting to finance through my credit union and not the dealers lender. Is there any way to fight this or is it just unavoidable? Hopefully you can lend some guidance!
Awesome video! I do f&i at a Honda store but I’m thinking of trading my Honda SUV for a Tahoe Z71. I wonder what’s the mark-up from invoice to MSRP?...
My question is, how much down payment needed for a RST or LT captain chairs, leather, with large sunroof to be in the 700's? I know it's big down, but we would like to figure out what would be needed.
The price of trucks has to comedown. This is $400 a month more than my house payment. Kia is building a truck. Watch out for that. $35k loaded for the half ton. I would look at it very closely compared to $78k.
If you have the money then by all means go for it. I can't understand how a lot of people can afford a payment that large though, $1200 is my mortgage payment lol
Hi Chevy Dude. Can you please let me know about Data Dots? I recently bought a Silverado and the finance manager said this was non negotiable since it was already installed on the car. They charged $430 dollars for it and on the paperwork it said that it was not required to obtain financing. Am I obligated for something that they put on the vehicle but wasn’t on the window sticker?

Trust me you can negotiate the Msrp of a Tahoe it’s a Chevy Tahoe you can get it down to 45k if you stay hard the more my dad just bought a suburban brand new 2019 got it down to 50k lol don’t be an idiot and negotiate when they say there is no discounts go walk away and leave there is always discounts especially if it’s Chevy 😂😂
wrong. No one is discounting these yet.
Null go to and dealer and negotiate if they don’t walk out lol 😂 don’t get brainwashed dawg
Miracle Man I co own and work for Chevy dealers. We are not discounting and all of the dealers around Metro Detroit, which is known as discount city, are not negotiating. The demand is so high they’re selling at sticker off the truck. If you can’t afford it, wait a few years and buy one then.
Null bro great for you here in Nj different story Tahoe’s are not popular here to much maybe by Detroit because it’s the south dawg but here they are bro if a dealer says no discounts then I’m out dawg I’m not a idiot 😂😂 it’s a Chevy after all 😂😂 www.hawthornechevrolet.com/? no one is discounting huh well I’m seeing different around my area 😂😂😂
This makes sense when Dave says, take that car payment and put it into your 401k, ira, index funds.
20 years ago those suv would of been 500 a month.
Every 10 years, those vehicles just keep going up.
I rather buy boats, atv, sxs, jet ski toys and vacation trips.
Not worth buying these vehicles
What I do these days is rent. Spring, summer, winter trips. Just cheaper
My 03 Tahoe LT bought used w/9421 miles in Feb 04 fo $30k that has 130k miles looks real good to me after seeing these numbers.
I like that Z71 model behind you. Great color 👍
Very informative Chevy Dude. Thanks for sharing.
These Tahoe’s cost more than my house 🏡 casa! Cadillac Escalade 100k definitely!
These are the numbers that had me running away from new or used tahoes!
Great content 👍
You need to factor in full coverage insurance (financed requires max coverage), this adds $300-$400 per month to your payment
3-400 per Month in insurance? I don’t pay that on 6 cars.
I have a budget of $1100 for vehicles Wich is $450 for my 2019 Silverado and $610 for wife's new pathfinder. When I'm done with those I'll get a Z71 Tahoe for myself as a baby.
Chad’s be all, “Car dealers are always trying to rip you off!! They want $1000/month for a new Tahoe! My buddy got one for $625!”
Reality be like: “No dude, math ripped you off and your buddy is a unicorn.”
how 600
@@dell7054 Most likely their buddy works for the dealership, friend, or a family member. My coworker helped me buy my first new car and he also worked at a dealership part time. I paid out the door $16k instead of the MSRP $23k.
Gaming Hubby Who in the hell works at a dealership “part time” besides the kids who wash the cars? I’m pretty sure they don’t have the pull to get anyone a car half price. I’m either calling BS or it was used or a car they had for damn near a year.
I KH Nobody got it for $600. It was a joke. People act like math doesn’t apply to a car loan. They want a $600 payment on an $80,000 car which doesn’t work without a MASSIVE down payment.
@@chancock4222 Clearly my coworker works part time at the dealership as previously stated. Once more it was a new car. Seams like the facts are causing you to get upset.
Over 800$ for 5 to 6 years every month I can't imagine how miserable it is paying that for 7 years.
Very helpful thanks, im looking at a 2021 LT
Love learning, thanks!!I still wanna get a c8 from you!
Absolute Insanity with the price of new vehicles these days
Why do these things seem to cost more than a Silverado?
It is truck just in a SUV form. Yes it does not have a bed, just go buy a trailer
Pay cash and you don’t have a payment. Don’t buy what you can’t afford.
What do you recommend buying more new or used vehicle?
These cars are absolutely worth the money. Why? Because people keep buying them (financing them). Value is what someone is willing to pay.
That aside, Tahoes aren't the fastest depreciating vehicles out there, especially in this market.
With all that, I still say buy used, but some people can't find what they want right now.
I don’t think I’m going to see my self in a new vehicle any time soon with those prices 😂😂 y’all can enjoy the +900 car payment 😂

Nice video bro!
I appreciate the knowledge!
If GM, Ford, Chrysler would offer a truck or SUV with manual door locks, crank windows, am/fm stereo, and an air conditioner....and nothing else....like in the old days.....id gladly pay $15,000-$$20,000 cash for a new truck.
bought a 2021 tahoe z71 in early 2022. paid $87k includes $10k market adjusted price. didn't have the 360 camera or power fold rear seats. dealership told me the 2022's won't be in until 2023. yeah, i got ripped off, LoLz.
This video speaks my mind every time I see these or a Nissan Armada I just want to ask these ppl what they do for a living lol
60k easy for an LT with leather and your not even out the door freeking crazy money even on a lease. The new Tahoe’s are SICK & I’m a ford fan
car companies are not careful there going to price most everyone out of the market.
For the $700 a month, You can buy a Nexus or Thor super C RV and get a 240 month loan and live in it.
for this money , so many better options than a tahoe
Great Vid, Mike. What is the highest monthly car payment you have seen?
Thanks great info
So now they come in diesel. I have had my diesel truck gel up while driving it. Not fun when you have three tired whiney kids and three tired cranky horses, and just trying to get home. Is there some way the Tahoe has to prevent the cold gel up?
Does GM have 0% financing for people who qualify
Omg that is expensive... the last model better looking.. the average joe can't afford this payment. Im better off buying house instead... thanks for the info thou.
Thank you!
The best bet would be buying one of these when it comes off a 3yr lease for around $40k
That 2021 Chevy Tahoe is Super Expensive
Will you tell us if we got a good deal on our payment?
New to the Channel! Appreciate all the insight and tips. I have a question regarding price reduction if your finance through the dealership. I’m in the process of buying 2 new Vehicles, but continue to get the price raised on me (around $2k-$4k higher) due to me wanting to finance through my credit union and not the dealers lender. Is there any way to fight this or is it just unavoidable? Hopefully you can lend some guidance!
I love that you support police and military!! Great video!
Thanks. My son is LEO and I am former firefighter. Family full of FF and Leo.
@@ChevyDude thank you! Do a review on the new 2021 pursuit tahoe, that would be amazing
Awesome video! I do f&i at a Honda store but I’m thinking of trading my Honda SUV for a Tahoe Z71. I wonder what’s the mark-up from invoice to MSRP?...
Nice brake down of the price
Who the F buy 80 thousands SUV ON monthly payment? Buy a House rent it or condo. Be smart.
How dose a lease work if you trade it in after 3 years do you keep paying the same amount or do you have to start over
Thankz lol💯
Wow, i was all in until i saw the monthly payments, too close to a mortgage for a vehicle that depreciates faster than you can say bankrupt.
My question is, how much down payment needed for a RST or LT captain chairs, leather, with large sunroof to be in the 700's? I know it's big down, but we would like to figure out what would be needed.
To get to $700 per month you would need to finance apx $38k with a 4% rate on 60 months. 44,742 on 72 months.
Does the passenger get lumbar adjustment on the LS?
The price of trucks has to comedown. This is $400 a month more than my house payment. Kia is building a truck. Watch out for that. $35k loaded for the half ton. I would look at it very closely compared to $78k.
If you have the money then by all means go for it. I can't understand how a lot of people can afford a payment that large though, $1200 is my mortgage payment lol
@Chevy Dude how do I buy a car directly from you? I don’t even want to deal with local dealers
Would love to have a Tahoe HC. Guess I better go to med school and become a doctor.
If you need 84 months to pay off a car. Sorry you can’t afford the car don’t buy it duh!!
What about 0% 72 months. I'm sure you'll be saving bout 100 to 150 a month on payments.
$927 a month Z71 63k with 6 % sales tax
Pay the TLC up front
Just saying
Not even GM employee/family discount?
That is a damn rolling mortgage. Not worth it
