My husband is 6’6 and this is our 4th Tahoe over the last 12 years. We love the upgrades. We only have 2 kids so we never use the 3rd row. We love the trunk space and leg room for tall hubby. Its not for everyone but it works so well for us. ♥️
Recently got my wife a new 21 Tahoe Premier very well optioned with all the safety features, panoramic sunroof, heads up display, quad leather heated/cooled seats, lots of leather or leather like and wood in the interior, v8 2-wheel drive with running boards and factory chrome 22” wheels, $72k, beautiful SUV rides great and plenty of power. She had a 17 Durango R/T which was nice too
So I currently drive a 2021 Tahoe and LOVE IT. I have a full sun roof along with power folding seats in the second AND third rows. I have 4 small children. 2 rear facing, 2 forward facing. I have the rear facing twins side by side in the second row which leaves not only an available seat but allows easy access to the third row to get in and out the 2 kids in the back. I also always have my evenflo pivot double stroller which fits in the trunk. Overall I have no complaints and all the “plastic” doesn’t bother me a bit. I test drove a transverse first and although the trunk space was nice there was not even room to get all the car seats and kids in comfortably
I recently got a used 2021 LT Texas edition Tahoe. So many safety features, panoramic sunroof, bucket seats, it also has buttons in the back to lower down the third row seats. You don’t have to do it manually. Drives smooth and high. My kids are 6 & 10 and they have more than enough room. I don’t have to worry about the stroller room 😜 I love it and I’m obsessed with my Tahoe! ❤
“Here’s some AMSR for you!” 😂 I agree 100% with you. These companies have the nerve to charge that much money for some plastic on wheels. Keep it up! Love your videos.
For an SUV that is $71,000, I would have to agree that General Motors should have used soft touch materials on the dashboard and door panels. Second the gauges/speedometer should have been digital or updated to something different. Third the middle seats in the second and third row should havd had head restraints, so she made a good point on that. Fourth the seats could be more comfortable. Finally, one thing that General Motors should have done in their SUVS was put a grab handle on the drivers side pillar. Reason being is because if a shorter person was to drive this vehicle, they would need assistance getting in and out.
I have this car in black after totaling my nightfall wolf grey telluride and I will say I’m happy I have it it’s great I love it and the space it’s much nicer than the telluride
Just to let you the Z71 is the off road package. If your looking for more of “family” Tahoe need to check out the LT trim level or spring for the premiere level. Also Chevy has made sunroofs an option on most levels. Most people say they want it and then never use it
Just picked up a yukon at4 fully loaded for the wife yesterday. Traded in her vw atlas which wasn't a good fit for our family. We like how aggressive the at4 package give it and how big the overall vehicle is! She a big beast!
@@rickyhsu572 liked body on frame vehicle since I drive a truck. We just found issues with the vw. Suddenly stopping when driving, 2nd row chair flying forward with child seat, infotainment buggy as hell, digital spedo buggy not showing nav and the list goes on lol
@@enthalpyyan nope not in Canada. I got preferred pricing which was a discount of around 6k. In the states it's called something else. When you work for a company that's under the GMC loyalty you get a discount. If in Canada they tried to sell over msrp I wouldn't buy from them anyways.
Used to be my favorite “truck”. Way overpriced now and the materials aren’t up to par. No doubt it will sell though. People enjoy the space and the domineering look of it.
I agree. I had two Suburbans in the past but I’m just so disappointed in this gen compared to the Expedition so I’m just going to get that Wagoneer or the 2022 Expedition since basically everything you need is standard
I think you should try the Tahoe Premier, same price point but more of the mom stuff you’d be wanting instead of an off road package. I tried both and love my Premier. Most of your complaints are solved with that one!
Your videos are just the best for moms and families! My hubby is 6’4” (no seats go back far enough for his super long legs to be comfortable except in his huge truck) I’m 5’7” and we have a toddler and another baby on the way. The struggle is REAL to find a vehicle that fits my husband and two car seats behind us! I was considering a Tahoe but not after watching your video. Way too much plastic for the price! Jeep grand Cherokee seems the best for the buck without having to spend $90k for nice interior and a big trunk but I wish the second row was like 5” further back 😢
Thanks for making this video! My wife and I are looking to buy a SUV, and we are that tall couple. We loved how you were so detailed and picky about certain stuff, heck, you and my wife are kind of similar so it was great having you explain and showed us the pros and cons about the vehicle. Still, we might just purchase a Tahoe sooner than expected. We agree, Chevrolet can do better in upgrading their interior, and that’s why I wouldn’t pay $70k for it, with $50k is fine by us.
I will be brutally honest $70,000 is way too expensive for a family vehicle we purchased brand new 2 miles a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta one child. We put car seat in large stroller. We did just fine . Family of 3. Gas now $4.29 $60 fill up . Growing up family of 5 my parents had 1995 Chevy Carprice Wagon V8. Brand new.
HEY CAR MOM, You asked what that little cubby storage compartment to the left of the nav screen is used for? Here's your answer. It's used to hold your sunglasses and thats why its also felt lined not hard plastic. If you look above your head where the most common place to store the your sunglasses between the reading /map overhead lights and sunroof controls, You'll notice that the sunglass holder is gone. Chevy repositioned the location of the sunglass holder.
No mention of the Diesel engine option?! I drive a 2021 RST duramax Tahoe and absolutely LOVE it…I get amazing gas mileage 28 around town and 32 on the highway. I have rear entertainment, bench seat, panoramic sunroof, 4wheel drive, tow package, and so much more it was less than the 71K price tag…used car prices are RIDICULOUS right now!!!
We just got the 21 suburban premier duramax and love the gas mileage on this thing. It was a lot but it came with every bell and whistle and the leather seats are butter soft! We have 2 kids and it works for us! The cubby thing you’re wondering about, I put my sunglasses in there.
I couldn’t agree with you more about the Tahoe. Test drove & was so disappointed. We got a Hyundai Palisade Caligraphy and it has so many more features for a lot less money. Also agree about the double spacing of the lettering on the back end of all the new vehicles. Wanted them to take it off my car but felt like a psycho 😬
We recently got a 2021 Z71 Suburban. Ours came with a panoramic sunroof and the rear entertainment system and we essentially paid what you said this is listed for. So I think you found an overpriced Tahoe haha. We LOVE our suburban - perfect size for a family of five with a big dog.
Same, picked up a 2021 Yukon XL brand new off the lot with sunroof and rear entertainment for $73K. The market is just backwards right now, not the fault of the Tahoe.
We got the 21 Suburban LT with LT sig package and included most of those items too for $60K. I think the Tahoe is actually going for more because people are scared of the SIZE of the Suburban (and XL Yukon)
You should tour a premier! Totally different interior including gauges The compartment beside the radio to the right is a sunglasses holder Mine has a sunroof all the way to the back seat it is huge (panoramic) All of my seats are electric
With 3rd row up, cargo is small for the size of the vehicle. Traverse has way more storage in the cargo area. It even has under storage while Tahoe doesn’t.
You are spot-on, thank you for being honest, Chevy needs to hear our complaints, Chevy stop being cheap, you make an awesome truck so stop being cheap about it, Great review.
The Z71 21 Tahoe market value isn’t worth $71k brand new especially with 20k miles on it. I have the LT with moonroof, HUD, captains chairs, power release chairs, leather, etc and paid way less than that. Just an FYI to those watching this and eyeroll’ing at this vehicle, the Z71 is also the off-road trim - they didn’t put anything into it because that trim level is less likely to be a family SUV. Just my two cents.
I have been wanting a tahoe for a long time but saw expedition (among other vehicle reviews you've done) and got an expedition 2 weeks ago. And watching this has made me even more happy and confident I made a good choice. Personally I don't like the new body style with the Tagoe.
Her Expedition video made me want one, too! We actually ordered a Tahoe, but cancelled it once we looked at an Expedition. We just got a build date and hope to take delivery by end of September!
Great Review not all good nor all bad really like your candor. You hit on so many key points most notably the astronomical pricing and what you get our don't for the money. I own a 2018 GMC and my interior is virtually the same. Way to go GM
I would love an older tahoe.... currently looking to decide if I should upgrade size from my 16 pilot about to have 4 kids but we also have a 2500 Dodge Ram
This is fantastic! I’m thinking about getting the Suburban, but needed to do some homework on the Tahoe to make sure I couldn’t get things done with a smaller vehicle. I thought your concerns about the cost and trim were valid, as well as the rear seat fiasco. I went through the web build before and was just as annoyed. Thanks for the honesty and liveliness! It was very refreshing.
So glad I ended up ordering the Expedition. Was waiting for the Tahoe but couldn’t order what I wanted. Got more features for the same price going Expedition
Bought GMC Yukon SLT last week, 70k, no mark up, the car came with rear entertainment, pano sunroof, very happy with my purchase. The dealership wanted to sell me Denali and I was like no, why would I pay 20k over for a stupid grill, 22 inch harsh ride tire and a start stop system which will kill the Engine’s life, head up display is nice tho
Thanks for pointing out the middle seat lack of headrests! My parents are big GM owners, so I’ll remember this next time we load up into one of their cars!
Love your videos! Just wanted to share a point maybe, that if there is a middle seat head restraint, you wouldn’t be able to see out of your rear view mirror.
I noticed a couple of deletions from overhead console. Even though I am not a parent the “nanny cam”. The flip down mirror that can monitor the rear seats…..I used it on a couple of rentals as my puppy’s (“Scout Cam”)
I just bought a 2021 Z71 Suburban with sunroof, rear entertainment and a few other gadgets this Tahoe doesnt have, sticker price $68,525. I asked my salesman why the Tahoe's are priced higher, he admitted, it's a status thing, and GM knows it. So go buy a Suburban and you'll get a ton more room and more options for less $.
This was on my very short list of cars I was considering and I'm SO GLAD I didn't go for this. I'm in a 2021 Subaru Ascent Touring and I LOVE MY MOM CAR!
This video, and your Chrysler Pacifica video helped me to choose the Chrysler to rent for a road trip overall. Which one would you say was better for a road trip as far as being comfortable goes?
Hey I am just saying from my experience my grandmother bought a 2021 tahoe primeir and it had a very nice interior I think it is just the trim level that you got
Can you do the Chevy Suburban? At first I was so set on the Hyundai Palisade, but my husband is thinking we should get a full size suv for the bigger trunk space. So I feel like I'm down to either the Yukon or suburban.
You should do a tour of the 2021 Yukon AT4. That’s what I drive & I LOVE IT! It’s more “luxurious” than the Z71 Tahoe (HUD, automatic running boards, panoramic sunroof, sliding center console, rear TVs, buttons in “trunk” to fold seats) SUPER NICE!!
Truth be told GM won't get away from plastics. The focus is technology and that's what people pay for. Also you're beautiful and knowledgeable Kelly thank you
Full-sized SUV’s have been priced out of the target group that wants them. Now, they’re luxury-level vehicles according to price. In 2008, a person could get a really nice Tahoe for $45k-$50k brand new. Now those same vehicles are $30,000 more. The inflation just seems a little ridiculous.
I own this year model and trim of this SUV and I don’t know where your getting your price. I bought mine for less brand new and got a fully digital dash and a sun roof alone with way more features than yours. And I use that weird little cubby for my sunglasses. Works perfectly.
So I have the 2021 z71 Tahoe and I have a full sunroof. My second row is completely different although because mine has the entertainment package so there are TVs on the backs of the front seats and captain chairs for the second row. As for the very weird cubby upfront, I found it’s the perfect size to hold a pair of sunglasses lol other than that I have no clue why it’s there 😂 But I will say that I am absolutely in love with the car!
I bought this same exact vehicle new for my wife. Color and all. We have a 6 year-old daughter, and I feel like maybe you are overlooking one benefit. This SUV, if involved in a collision, would annihilate whatever it encounters. I believe that has value when choosing a family vehicle.
Yes, including the passengers of the other car, any pedestrians or small children playing nearby that you can’t see because the vehicle is so freaking huge.
@@yerbamate86 I would advise people to buy a suitable car with crash survivability. And also to supervise their children that you believe would somehow escape the view of the 360° camera system on the car. Settle down, Karen.
Kelly can you please do a review on the 2022 Tahoe High Country fully equipped. My wife and I are considering a purchase and would like to hear your thoughts on this model vs some of the other brands your reviewed. Thank you
You would have to see if you can get the buttons to control the seats on this model or get a base Premier with rwd not awd for 65 to 66k with diesel engine.
Drove a 2023 from Florida to Texas and it was an absolute rattle trap. Felt extremely cheap compared to the Armada we rented and our new 23 4Runner. It drove well, but not going to pay $1400 a month for a plastic box.
Build a new 22 z71 on Chevy site. With the off road pkg. comes with power 2nd and 3rd row seats , surround camera and driver alert pkg. plus digital dash. Pretty much checks alm the complaint boxes. $68500 msrp. The 71k used model price is due to no inventory on new models.
I have a 2021 premier, you should have checked a better trim out. The Z71 isn't even comparable. Everything you complained about, my car has and it's the same year as this!
You're right. I've always loved the looks of the Tahoe but I'm definitely not paying $70k+ for it, ever! It's really not that much more space than my 2014 Pilot.
Could you do a video of the dodge Durango next? I have been watching your videos to shop for a new car and they have been helping me take away the vehicles that are just not what I am looking for.

Girl! I love you! Your so funny! Tell it like it is! Yeah the price on those new ones is outrageous. Good video
Tahoe, Yukon, suburban, or the yukon xl are awesome family haulers. The best. Period
This was on my very short list of cars I was considering and I'm SO GLAD I didn't go for this. I'm in a 2021 Subaru Ascent Touring and I LOVE MY MOM CAR!
Wow that doesn't even seem like it would be the same class as a Tahoe
@@pvnurse06 totally not 😏
Thank you for the honesty. A fan from the being, and love the growth in videos.
My right seat passenger rear door rattles at every bump and 3rd row has a ringing bell sound inside panel
This video, and your Chrysler Pacifica video helped me to choose the Chrysler to rent for a road trip overall. Which one would you say was better for a road trip as far as being comfortable goes?
I found my answer, love your channel!
i love your review because you actually behave like most of us do in real life
You don’t understand the packages. The signature includes all of the Luxury package amenities plus the items listed
Hey I am just saying from my experience my grandmother bought a 2021 tahoe primeir and it had a very nice interior I think it is just the trim level that you got
Definitely, the trim level, the LT is a good value
I just got a Tahoe LS 2021 a week ago and I love it, and my kids are very hapoy. I think it is for 🕶👓😎🌞
Can you do the Chevy Suburban? At first I was so set on the Hyundai Palisade, but my husband is thinking we should get a full size suv for the bigger trunk space. So I feel like I'm down to either the Yukon or suburban.
Would love to see you review a 2021 Suburban!!!
It’s the exact same only longer in the back
You should do a tour of the 2021 Yukon AT4.
That void hole might be a cigarette ash tray
The panoramic sunroof is optional on the Z71 my girlfriends has it and the kids love it
Wow this mom is amazing. Thanks for your opinion and review. Jajajajajaja. I. Having so much fun.
I like 2022 Honda insight. It will be next family car.
This is one of the best videos yet! Totally agree with everything you mentioned!
The Best review ever ! ihave so much laugh . Thx you ! 🤣😂🤣
"That's a whopping heap of nothing." LOL!
It’s ‘outdated’ because it’s the Z71. It’s meant to be more rugged and more 4x4 focused.
Kelly can you please do a review on the 2022 Tahoe High Country fully equipped. My wife and I are considering a purchase and would like to hear your thoughts on this model vs some of the other brands your reviewed. Thank you
I agree about the front end looking unbalanced. Something is off, but I can’t put my finger on it.
You would have to see if you can get the buttons to control the seats on this model or get a base Premier with rwd not awd for 65 to 66k with diesel engine.
This was freaking great and realistic Af. Lol. Loved ittttt
I was surprised to see a car this expensive be so disappointing. The second row seemed to be the best part of the car. That bench seat was a dream.
Can you put a rear facing seat in the third row?
Could you do a video of the dodge Durango next? I have been watching your videos to shop for a new car and they have been helping me take away the vehicles that are just not what I am looking for.
Love your videos. They have been super insightful! Any chance you could do a Toyota Sequoia???? :D
I DONT care about the sun roof! It’s a safer vehicle without it! I am digging that white mini skirt
$71,000 too expensive.
I’m a suburban guy, but I still love the Tahoe, good for groups of 7
WHAT IS THE GIANT COMPARTMENT FOR ON THE FRONT DASH?! My friend just got a suburban and it has the same thing, this mystery is driving me batty!
