- Reflashed my 06 TSX ECU. Here are my tests and thoughts about the tune.
The removal process may vary for the 07-08 models. In the 07-08, the key and immobilizer don't need to be sent to Hondata.
This tune was purchased from Hondata's licensed dealer, Evasive Motorsports.
Thank You, for the support!
Hi, thinking of doing this ecu reflash for my RSX S. Is this Smog Legal for California?
Oh man you guys so deserve it!
Hondata is the shit… had S300 on my ITR with fully built motor, made 213whp all motor (Bseries)
You can tune almost any platform with it, it’s basically like having a ‘stand alone’ but for half the price, I wouldn’t tune any Honda without it… true story
@@777trinity4 nothing is legal in California 💀
Little by little. You will want more power, and I know how capable these TSX's are. I'm revving up to 9k (built head)
Wow, thats alot! Your not wrong about that
What did you do for your head
@@chico_k24t20 Super tech dual valve springs.
Stock cams? 50 degree? Im building my tsx head and looking for direction
@@chico_k24t20 I had stage 4 Brian crower cams. Stock 25 VTC. Best to stick to the stock cams if you are not bumping up compression. You can still hit 8400 rpms with stock cams
Thanks man!! Really appreciate it.
Just reflashed my ecu after almost 2 years of having my TSX and it just threw my first check engine code ive ever had and now my car is having misfire issues 😞
Thats odd...I never got a check engine light or misfire from mine. Who did your reflash?
@@NateAsaurus i sent mine to hondata through Heeltoe. my cylinder 3 is misfiring and my car is in limp mode. Apparently my coil pack wire harness went out, im thinking maybe my ecu isnt giving proper signal to my coil packs but im honestly clueless
@@gabe9464 That sucks dude. I had mine done through evasive motorsports but that wouldn't make any difference cause their just the seller. The Tsx ECU was recalled due to corrosion issues. Maybe that has something to do with it.
Nothing to do with the tune, coils go bad
Random question. If I get the reflash on a stock tsx then later down the road get headers I take exhaust etc, do I use to flash pro to tune it for those mods?
Yea the flashpros would work well for retuning your car each time you add a mod
And how does the process work ? You buy the hondata and do you ship before you get it or how does it work ?, would you say it’s worth it ? Because I got an 04 Tsx Automatic tho
First buy from a Hondata dealer (I chose Evasive Motorsports). Then ship them the parts needed & filled out paper forms. They do the rest and then ship it back. I was happy with it! Probably still worth it even with the auto, but up to you.
@@NateAsaurus so another question my bad for bothering lol, so when you buy it do you wait till they ship you the ecu or do you ship them the ecu and mobilizer the same day you buy the hondata
@@NateAsaurus and let’s say if I wanted to retune the hondata reflash are you able to do that ?
@@krilliom1289 No, you don't have to wait..you could ship same day as when you bought it.
@@krilliom1289 I know Hondata can reset it to factory settings if you ship your stuff out again if thats what you mean. If your looking to use something like K-Pro tuning farther down the road it should work. Could always call them up just to double check
Can I get another ecu from pick and pull so I can at least drive my car while my factory ecu is being tuned ?
If its not tied into your immobilizer like the 04-06 models it might work. But I dont wanna tell you wrong
Be careful tho...some of these ECUs were recalled due to corrosion/rust issues in colder States
How long did I take when you shipped out your ecu to get it back from hondata ?
5:41..Tuesday to Monday. About 6 full days from NY to CA and back to NY
@@NateAsaurus you think it would be faster for me since I’m in Cali? More specifically around L.A
@@krilliom1289 Yea probably. I think they do 1 day shipping back. So if you did it to them going out it would go quicker too. I know its hard to not have a ride for however long its sent out for
@@NateAsaurus yea haha that’s the one thing I’m just like fuck lol cause of work so I don’t know long I’ll be without my ride
@@krilliom1289 the hondata building is in Torrance and I’m in Long Beach. Would probably be only 3 days max lol
Are you planning on installing the flashpro down the road
Nah, not that I wouldn't want it but its just not worth it for me
I have an 07 automatic and I’m not as handy as you. Can you suggest how I could do the same? Would a mechanic know what to do? I’m in MN.
If you have the right mechanic probably will have to be a tuning mechanic but they can tune it. I also live in MN have a 04 tsx but no clue on where a good place to bring it is
Evasive motor sports sells the reflash you fill out the form of what tsx you have auto or manual transmission
I would love to do this a and full bolt ons. Maybe someday when I pay off my student loans lol 😂
Haha, I feel ya
I have an 06. I thought that you had to have a 07-08 ecu to do the reflash? Do I not have to buy another ECU?
The newer 07-08 ECU is for the FlashPro option. But, the cheaper ECU Reflash (that you get by mailing your ECU in) works on the stock 06 ECU as seen here
How is fuel efficiency after the flash? Better or worse?
It seems about the same. Maybe 1-2 mpg less, but that could be me just on the gas more ever since i got it done
Did you use the stock 06 ecu? I always see people say I need an 07 even their websites mention it
Yea I used the stock 06 one. The ECU reflash I got from Hondata worked with it
@@NateAsaurus I have an 05 so would this mean I’d have to source and 06 or 07 ecu for the flash? Also should I do cams before the flash?
@@airh3d534 If you want just the Reflash your 05 ecu will work. According to Hondata's website you need a 07/08 Ecu for FlashPro. I would only do cams if you get the FlashPro and not the Reflash
I have an 06 Tsx could I do the reflash or flashpro if my car is stock ?
Yes, the reflash works on a stock car too. I dont know why you would bother with the flashpro unless you plan on modding in the future
@@NateAsaurus yeah I am eventually going to be putting a turbo in my car. So would you recommend doing the reflash rn and then doing flashpro once turbo is completed ?
@@eliasrodriguez8880 Yea I don't see anything wrong with that. That sounds like a cool project!
@@eliasrodriguez8880 Ive never worked with flashpro, but im pretty sure it can do everything reflash can and more. Maybe just use flashpro to save some money so your not buying stuff twice? just my 2 cents lol
Why do you take out the immobilizer
Some Honda's have this anti theft device but since it is tied in with the ECU it needs to be also sent in for the reflash to work
do you have any mods?
CAI/catback exhaust are the only bolt ons i have
can I do this to an automatic?
Yes!
Where did you get the carbon for the interior?
From amazon. Its a 12"x60" sheet i cut up
@@NateAsaurus I did the same thing makes the interior look much better
@@AKYLE315 thats awesome!
where did you get your headlights??
They are the stock headlights. I heated them open to remove the orange reflectors inside
@@NateAsaurusNo way they look sick! Was it hard to remove it ? I’m gonna try it out now
@@bla4833 Once you have the front bumper off then no, its not hard to do. I used a heatgun around the glued edge. Key is to be patient and evenly heat without it getting too hot
How do u send it too hondata
I put my ECU in a waterproof bag and also used packing peanuts in the box to protect it on its USPS travel
Can I reflash a bone stock TSX?
Yes you can and will still get power gains from it
Where did you buy the reflash?
Evasive Motorsports website
@@NateAsaurus can I do this to my Honda Element?
@@applepoop10 No but i think they have a K Tuner for the element
Something to think about
Anyone know where I can find a installation on the reflash by myself? Everyone send it to Hondata
What do you mean by yourself? If you want it done without sending it out to Hondata then you'd need something like FlashPro or KTuner
@@NateAsaurus I tried buying a brand new ones but they go directly to dealers that looks like a graveyard and no website to order and when you call they don’t answer the ones I have found online and local has been people that has wreck the flashpro to its extent
Can you do a catless tune with it?
Youd probably need flashpro for it. Just the Reflash wont help
@@NateAsaurus
🤔
Okay.
So who makes flashpro?
Hondata?
@@realtruth97Yes Hondata makes the Flashpro. Theres settings for dissabling 02 sensor if you go catless in there. Without using flashpro youd get a check engine light catless. I wouldn't reccomend going catless tho for other reasons but do what you like
@@NateAsaurus very true.
I think a high flow cat is the way to go
@@NateAsaurus what other reasons do you mean?
I noticed the car drove less smooth.
Like it lost the flow it had last time I went catless.
But maybe that was because I didn't do the flash too?
🤔
How much was the reflash if you don't mind me asking?
$295
Did you have to go through a dealer or straight through Hondata?
@@patrickkeen6215 as far as I know the dealers do it I can’t find a price from hondata
Can flashpro work on the CL7 Euro R? Or even tsx with cable throttle?
I read up on some forums. Looks like it's not compatible
I probably can help with the euro R. Where are you located in the world?
Kid keep this car in a garage they are going up in price bc the k24 they have and they are type r k24 dtune from the factory Honda dirty little secret and they are going to be classic cars soon
There's no k24 type R.
@@lindaover9764type s
@@lindaover9764 hes saying its pretty much like a type r engine the k24a2 is a hidden gem especially the 06-08 usdm engine but thats all to well known by alot of people now 🤷🏻♂️
