Hi sophie, quick question - when doing a framed panel do you find it easier to start in the middle and work your way out to the edges or to start at an edge or corner and work your way in? Many thanks, I've learned a lot from your channel!
Hi Sophie, enjoyed your video thank you. I'm hoping to have a go at creating at creating one or two geometric stained glass panels that were/are in doorways or above front doors. Would you recommend any particular stained glass software design/resizer package please?
Lead loses it's shine with age. It eventually gets so dull you have to work the joints (with wire wool) to get the solder to take. But if your lead is just a bit dull, I wouldn't worry about it as it doesn't really make a difference in the end.
Sophie, I have a pretty basic question for you since you do exterior windows, door sidelights, and leaded inserts in exterior doors. I feel like a real dummy for asking this, but with textured stained glass is the textured side normally facing outside, facing inside, or is it up to the client as to which way they prefer? I've never done any window work and don't have access to any leaded windows to check for myself. Thank you!
@6 mins you fell victim to the curse of reeded glass😂. I can testify it is awful to handle. Those tiny little almost invisible spikes have had me several times over the years. Deep flemish also does this.
Sophie, the little bits that cut on that clear glass, come off super easy with a grinder. I find the grinder to be extremely useful.❤
Good idea!
Another very valuable video by the best on RUclips.
Many thanks!
Fascinated by your talent. Awesome work😊😊😊

Thank you for this inspiring video!
Thank you!
Leaded panels are tricky but fun, thanks for the tips and please keep em coming!
Thank you!
Love your videos sophie!
Thanks Bruce!
Thank you so much love your videos.
Thanks - great to hear!
I am so appreciative of your videos. Always learning something!
Many thanks!
The good thing about lead is you dont have to grind before you fit it in the lead like you do with foiling 😊
Absolutely!
Nice work. Where did you get the
new came cutter ?
I get my tools from Reading Stained Glass.
Thanks for the detailed video. How did you cut the roundel down to size? I think you have shown that before, but I can't find it.
Actually nothing special - just scored and snapped. Don't think there is a video as it's not a particularly usual thing.
@@SophiesStainedGlass Thank you. I thought you had a roundel panel before and may have talked about it then.

I always start in the corner. With complex/curvy panels I take a moment to decide which corner will work best.

Rapid Resizer might be worth a try or Affinity Design. Good luck!
Thanks for video. Your lead is always shiny. The stuff I buy is dull and grey. Is there something I should be doing or is it a different make maybe.

Never apologise for asking a question - texture on the inside. :-)
@@SophiesStainedGlass Thank you so much for your kind reply.
