There was Keith Jackson ...and then everybody else. He was that good. Remember crisp, sunny autumn days in Michigan listening to his broadcasts in the 80s as a kid: the smell of my grandpas cigar, my grandmother cooking a roast , and keth jackson in the big house...LEGEND
Keith Jackson always took the high road, never cashed in on controversy, never uttered a bad word about players, coaches or Fans. He loved his job, he loved sports, he loved people and he earned the adulation and RESPECT we bestow upon him. He was the "John Madden" of College Football when Madden was still trying to beat the Steelers.
I remember Jackson's final broadcast during my Freshman year of college. The 2006 Rose Bowl was one of the most amazing games I've ever seen, even if, as a Trojan, the outcome was terrible. I remember how Jackson spoke about how he save up allowance money to purchase a radio during the Depression years If there's a dream left in this country, he embodied it. Miss you, bro.
For 3 hours every Saturday in the fall, the sounds of college football and Keith Jackson were the reasons why I looked forward to Saturdays. Mr. Jackson was always my favorite announcer growing up, gonna miss that voice. Also Keith, your darn right. You will be missed
Nobody has ever called sport like Keith Jackson. Definitely the GOAT in Sports Broadcasting and a class act to boot. RIP Keith, thanks for so many wonderful memories. You are most certainly missed.
We’ve had so many icons and it’s such a shame that it seems like there’s never gonna be anyone to be like they we’re. Bunch of generic stiffs now. Surely you could tell Keith was an all time broadcaster the second you heard him
I miss his voice. Up there with Dave Niehaus. Washington State incubated the best voice in baseball and football I guess because it was so remote they had to make their calls back better? Maybe we need more Alaskan and Hawaiian announcers.
We miss him. College Football does go on and it's still great. He wasn't bigger than the game itself. But he made watching the game better -- a whole lot better. He understood his role to enhance the viewing experience and NO ONE ever did it better.
From his first beginnings, out to undiscovered ends, nothings worth the winning, save laughter and the love of friends….may the good Lord welcome you into His heavenly home, as you have given to us your irreplaceable golden voice every Saturday….
G.O.A.T. I AM THE BIGGEST MICHIGAN WOLVERINE FAN EVER I REMEMBER ALL THE GAMES THAT KEITH JACKSON CALLED ESPECIALLY THE ONE WHEN DESMOND HOWARD RAN IT BACK ON THE OHIO STATE BUCKEYES AND BECAME THE HEISMAN TROPHY WINNER WE WILL ALWAYS MISS THE GREAT VOICE OF KEITH JACKSON WOAH NELLY KEITH JACKSON WAS THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME THAT'S WHY THEY ALWAYS CALLED HIM THE GOAT AS A LIKE I SAID THE MEMBER OF THE MICHIGAN WOLVERINE FAN WE WILL ALWAYS MISS HIS VOICE WE STILL THINK ABOUT YOU TILL THIS DAY KEITH
