"WOOOOOOAAAAAAHHHH, NELLY!!!!!!! Those BIG UGLIES on that line created a hole even I could run through! TOUCHDOWN ALABAMA! Derrick Lassic scores ANOTHER touchdown and the Crimson Tide are really sticking it to the Hurricanes from the University of Miami here tonight!"
Keith Jackson's wisdom and humility was one of the last surviving voices of the great generation of World War II that gave us so much. RIP and thanks for so many remarkable moments!
In 1980 or '81, Keith Jackson came to Fayetteville AR to call a Razorbacks game. My brother worked for Avis at the airport there. When Mr Jackson returned his car after the game, he reached in his pocket, and along with pulling out his car keys, he pulled out an ABC microphone flag, which he gave to my brother. Not being much of a sports fan, he passed it along to me. To this day, it's one of my real treasures, for it came from a great one.
I miss Keith Jackson more than any of those announcers of my life. Just to hear his voice at the beginning of a college football game - gave me chills - and brought a silly grin from ear to ear.
Legend. Iconic and synonymous with college football. Classic Sugar Bowl and Rose Bowl calls in late 70s and early 80s. Part of my childhood has died as well. RIP Mr. Jackson, Sir, and thank you.
no one will EVER be as good as Keith Jackson. Woah Nellie! Ive listened to him since 1991 but my grandfather was around for his WHOLE CAREER! 1929-2015 My Grandfather lived through a era in sports that will also be the greatest of all time. the announcers now do not know how to stop talking to let the event speak to the fans. Keith Jackson was the master at this
KEITH JACKSON, Dick Enberg, Jim McKay, Johnny Most, Vin Scully, and for my grandmother Chick Hearn were great, for you pups you didn't need a TV if you had a radio you were there, these people made that possible. I can still remember my grandmothers reluctance to television, she eventually relented but put it on mute so we could listen to the radio. These people could paint with their words all are missed
I think if I could meet any one athlete or sports personality in history, Keith Jackson would be my pick. There's some mysterious, intangible quality about him that I always loved.
The greatest college football announcer of all time. The greatest there ever will be.

Add Bill King from the S.F. Bay Area called games for the Warriors, A's and the Raiders. Excelled announcing all 3 teams.
Add Bob Cole
Thanks for the memories Keith!!! RIP
another absolute original
I hope I'm this sharp at 88. I know I'll still be able to get concrete style erections, but being this sharp mentally would be a blessing.
RIP Mr. Jackson
That was awesome!
