@@Blackone417 Flame mace is alright but it does drop from any other flamemade wielding monks. This monk further on is the only one in the game that drops this certain Monk's Flamesword tho! Same drop rate as the mace at 4%
If you want watchdog greatsword a little easier go to mountaintop of the giants catacombs and travel down the elevator twice. There are two watch dogs. Use lions great bow with Radans arrows and farm the second dog. Still takes a bit but way easier.
This is not easier....you have no area to shoot without pursuit
@@mecagoenbb it’s actually a thousand times easier I guarantee you 😅 if you’re familiar with that site of grace then go down the elevator like he said, ignore the first watch dog then for the second one you can bait him using the ice cold pillar traps that do a fat chunk; almost no effort for this strategy with the hardest part being running through past the first watchdog.
The frost pillars do a considerable amount of damage for being that easy. For sure way easier than dealing with a flame monk and two little dudes with the rule of also having to cleanse them 😂
@@ThroatGoatLorax i got it on the consecrated one by fighting the one that is alone. I just tried this and maybe I wasnt doing it right but the lottle ones and the first one kept following me unrelenting. I learned about the crystal darts which ig I had used maybe it wouldve been different.
in the hero tomb you can run past the first monk and then run to the end of of the hall trhough where the illusion wall was and drop out the window without having to fight that first monk.
then you have to fight the 2 imps, but the first imp can be killed pretty quickly when he gets stunned by the light. the second imp likely also got stunned by the light while you were dealing with the first one and he recovered and you have to fight him normally, but the waatchdog stays unaware so it's safe to fight them.
then just go down the steps and run in front of the watchdog and then run hack up the steps and wait for it to get stunned by the light and you can get 2 big hits in before it recovers.
you then have ti fight it nirmally, but you can actually sneak in a hit each time as it flies up and then dodge roll out ofmthe way as it comes down.
it does do massive damage if it hits, so. . yeah. . don't get hit.
the other one in themither tomb takes way longer and you have to pass by more enemies to get to him and then it takes time tomlead him to that dart trap and often isn't enough to kill's him before he can close the distance to you. .
i just farmed him in the heroes one, took about 10 kills. which according to the wiki says 8% and i had 200 discovery which should boost itmtom16%, so it seems about right. .quicker than i expected. i thought it would takem16-20 kills

Took me about 6 hours of nonstop killing those damn things before it finally dropped jus now from the solo watchdog closest to grace.
Theres an illusory wall if you go to the right of the flame monk so you can skip his aggro
I got it from the first attempt with 78 arc and silver scarab.
You can use the Twiggy Cracked Tear on physick flask to not use runes, without doing the boss first, after the cat/dog mini boss, just die to nearby flames/monk/downstairs imps
Also you can kill the first monk, drop down the right window and kill the two imps, then use buffs, spells, azur to quickly kill the dog then reset

I tested this sword with the standard Greatsword you get from the hearse in Caelid and found that despite the S heavy scaling on watchdog the A heavy scaling on Greatsword is doing more damage at 24+ (341+453) with 54 strength (80 strength when 2H). I looks to me the Greatsword might be a better choice than Watchdog's (294+487) at 24+? Did not test both a 25+ though.

Guts greatsword have more damage than the watchdog greatsword at +25, but only a little bit.

Its the looks (fashion) for me. Greatsword is more Band of the Hawks Guts cosplay WHEREAS Watchdogs Greatsword is more Dragonslayer Guts cosplay
R2 heavy attack is also different (downward slam VS sweeping attack)
The range AND +/-10 AR difference at Heavy +25 (with 80 STR) are negligible to be honest

the diference of the greatsword and this its only one, greatsword have more base damage without scaling, watchdog greatsword have more scaling, shows more of your stats, its good at high stats (55 - 60 strengh)
Choose at your preference of course, both are 👌
Greatsword is stronger until you get to 80 str
You can make almost everything in this game work. You can make so many "s" teir weapon/ash combos. You can accidentally stumble on multiple "cheese" combinations that put you on easy mode. But whats important for alot of players is how fast or early you can make it happen. This game is easy mode from minute 1.

I went to the dungeon with a random furled finger, we killed two of these things and one dropped, no item equipped just my massive luck for games and nothing else.

@@CloudPlays By that argument, every Ash of War is absolutely amazing, you just have to use it correctly.
Its extremely slow bro, that's why it sucks. The amount of times you can effectively use it is objectively less than most other Ashes of war. The DPS is therefor lower at higher risk to yourself. This means it is worse than many other options. Its a poor recommendation.
Used this ash of war in my NG+ playthrough and i did not come across any problems of the ash of war being "extremely slow"😂 used it on main bosses too, maybe you just suck?
@@nocky1429 Let's not go there mate. I am a souls veteran and have no issues beating any boss in the game. I am just stating that is slower than most other Ashes of War and for a new player it **will** be difficult to use it. I'm not speaking for myself, I am just pointing out the Ash of War is not S-tier because it is too slow.
Even if you don't take skill into the equation, it has less DPS because it comes out slower than alternatives. Skill is completely irrelevant, and adding that as a factor just makes it even worse.

This weapon is average af lol, its range is ridiculously short and it's out classed by multiple other weapons.
Problem is it only scales with strength

they have nerfed it :(( it scales C in strength now
you would have to change it to “heavy” when upgrading ash of war etc. then it becomes S tier strength scaling.

Sometimes we get lucky drops! Like the greatbow from the giant archers. Supposedly that has a super low chance to drop, but it dropped for me twice on the one in Altus Plateu guarding the giant lift. I had read people's comments saying they killed all those guys in the game and never even found one, or farmed for hours and never had it drop. Sad thing is, I'm not running a strength build so I can''t even use it.
Serious...first try in my first run. Its underwhelming tho.
