The first time he sang this was unrecorded. He sang this to his sweetheart June Juanico in Miami 1956 1 afternoon backstage with Elvis playing the piano to her. He knew it was her favorite love song and it was a memory June will never forget. Since then, with every new Elvis album, she would scan the tracks for this song. She finally heard him sing this on the radio on August 16, 1977 and it broke her
When I read this I cried so hard. I wish he had recorded it for her sooner. It would have been absolutely amazing! He sounds great always however, in his prime I am sure it would have been special. Their reunion and love confession. I believe they always loved each other, it never went away. ❤❤
@@nenabunena Same! When she said they spoke and he asked if there was anything he could do for her. When she said she kissed him on the mouth. One word and they would have picked up like she never let go. Deep down she had to have known that she was the one.
This has me here in tears. There will never be another like him, ever! This song proved he was like no other and that no other could touch him. I miss him, I love him and I always will. ❤️❤️
This is the first time I've ever seen this video ...and he sang the song differently, here. The best looking man I've ever seen ..and I've seen some gorgeous men.
Susan Thur I’m sorry you’re mistaken. The video is in his home but the song was first sung in South Dakota , 6 weeks before he died. They recorded 2 versions.
@@jadedangel8609 burra, o que ela está querendo dizer é! Que Elvis horas antes de morrer cantou no piano essa canção e "Blue eyes crying in The rain" em sua casa, deu pra entender ou quer que desenhe??
@@jadedangel8609 She meant it was one of the very last songs he sang the morning before he died. He sang it in the building where he played racquet ball early that morning. He was playing the piano, also. His cousin "Billy" heard him sing it.
You know what’s weird, is there’s 2 videos of that performance on RUclips. On the one version drums and backing vocals kick in when the song speeds up. They must have been dubbed in after the fact because they weren’t playing live
My favorite, and I think the best, recording of this song, was on the flip-side of a single that was released just after Elvis' death I think it was. The A side was probably, "America The Beautiful", going by my memory. That's the only place I've ever heard that superb version, on the B side of a single. It seems to be nowhere to be found, after that.
I still have mine from 77 so I'm familiar with it. It was My Way with America on the flip side. The cover photos were from inside gatefold of Elvis in Concert. He was in the 74 American Eagle jumpsuit. Very cool for a kid going into the 4th grade.
Thank you. I'll go to research something and get busy but I love Elvis and wish he would have been able to do more solo piano/guitar stuff but I love the things he did do far to much to complain.
Elvis was always a great singer but his voice was at his best in the early sixties I would have loved to hear him sing Unchained Melody when his voice was in better shape more flexible with the higher notes in the early 60s he was in better shape than also
Elvis Presley is alive yes and faked his death im a very true believer in that im sorry nonbelievers it's my own personal private opinion and belief don't attack me with negative names a
Look up pastor Bob joyce alot people thinking he was once elvis same scars same broken finger I'm a massive elvis fan and also a tribute act and some things didn't add up wen he died so it could be possible for him to have gone into witness protection to protect his family and if you all care to listen to pastor Bob you might start thinking the same and also precillia said in an interview as elvis said the other day then tried yo change the subject just little things .

Gives me chills when he sings this song. He is without an equal.

This is the FANTASTIC ELVIS PRESLEY , What else can i say?????
This is the first time I've ever seen this video ...and he sang the song differently, here. The best looking man I've ever seen ..and I've seen some gorgeous men.
The amazing thing is that Elvis Presley might've been the greatest opera singer ever, had he chosen that route. He mastered music.
I could imagine him doing a duet with Pavarotti. If only he'd stayed healthy.
Elvis was extraordinary. Only one in history.
I think this was actually the third time he performed it live. If I'm correct, the first time was two nights earlier in Wichita.
This view funny Elvis trying on a giant tie he's so gorgeous. Beautiful version of this song. Elvis Presley sings w so much Emotional feelings.
Elvis sang this for the ages the greatest vocalist and vocal performance ever.....
Beautiful voice beautiful man
From 2:27-2:34.... just out of this world. What a performance. He really never ceases to amaze me.

The man. The voice.❤❤❤👍👍
Essa versão é do show de 29/12/1976
One of his last songs he did sing, in his home, the day before his death. The other song was Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain.

if you look up unchained Melody in his last concert it's the best
No, he totally blew the ending on that rendition - though it's overdubbed with a better ending, on a popular video.

He didn't sing it at his last performance. the one your thinking of is his last tour. He did sing it in Cincinnati his second to last performance.
Magnificent!
one gift of god for peoples////
I loved his voice more when he got older. In the 70 s.
RIP to Elvis great man
Beautiful only the way he could sing it
Awesome!!!
Just not used to seeing 70's Elvis in the short sleeve shirt.
2:28
That is one the best notes I’ve ever heard him sing. And I don’t say that lightly.
the older he got the stronger his voice got, go figure
From what I understand he didn't drink a lot, that effects the voice, and I don't think he smoked either.
Voice training?

I agree but he didn't have quite the maturity or depth of voice. That's one thing the 70's did bring us.
acho que há uma versão de 1972
great song, but odd footage to add to it
Where? date?
Birmingham Alabama December 1976
South Dakota 1977 6 weeks before he died. I learned this through the Graceland tour.
not the first time
Link to the first recording?
I don't think the big E ever did the last high notes. .just saying..
Strange clothes
I’m gonna guess Birmingham Alabama 1976.
