Regarding Stone Ocean: It's not slander if it's true.
I mean you’re not wrong, the part was very flawed in the manga and it became more enjoyable and more easy to understand in the anime (although F to the Annasui Disney Rant, we missed what it was about to be peak fiction in animation form) but i can’t say that it is that bad then before, but I digress. Just watch out for the angry Stone Ocean Stans.
Pucci pretty much carried Part 6, tbh.

It really goes to show that the midway era storytelling while not perfect can lead to interesting speculation like this. Jarek lying about his absence is very in character considering how vain he is and its gives a bit of depth to a character who was written as a Kano clone.
He wasn't just "written off" as a Kano clone, he was also written IN as a Kano clone. He's a Kano clone and that's all he's ever been.

@@KombatGodhis ENTIRE Armageddon moveset is different to Kano's (and frankly much more fun.) On top of that, he always had unique designs and a more interesting story willing to help the heroes against a much greater threat. But suuuure he's jUsT a kAnO cLoNe

If this whole “Jarek” thing happened today in MK11 and he returned in MK12. Someone would ask John Vogel on Twitter and he’d say. “Jarek was dropped off a Cliff by Jax, but managed to save himself.”
Then the MK12 story mode would say he ran off like in the Sonya ending. And the intro dialogue would reveal that D’Vorah threw him off on the orders of Quan Chi.

No, you got it wrong - it was actually D'Vorah who threw Jarek off a cliff. And then he got saved by Kronika who instructed him to tell everyone that it was Jax so OIA would appear more cruel than Black Dragon which, as a result, caused all Black Dragons to side with forces of Darkness in Armageddon battle.

And Kronika was just a figurehead and the real Mastermind the entire time was none other than Quan Chi!

Jax’s MK4 ending shall forever be canon to me as how ridiculous it is, Jarek fell off a clip trying to catch Sonya, turns out he actually didn’t and grabs Sonya letting her fall to her death whilst her partner desperately tries to call her………suddenly Jax shows up out of nowhere and kills Jarek through a generic one liner!
You forgot the best part:
Jax, through the walkie-talkie: "Sonya! This is Jax! Are you there?"
Jarek smashes it and then Jax appears.
Jarek: "Jax? I thought you were [dead]!"

MK4 has some of the darkest tone and endings of any MK game and then you have this ending which is just hilariously bad.
My only guess is that Midway was running out of development time and needed to give these 3 characters each one an ending quick so they decided to just make one long ending and cut it into parts and called it a day even if it made no sense whatsoever.
I guess Jerek really had a "Falling out" with Sonya.

Fun and totally true fact: The Cliff stage was created by Jarek as a way for him to enact vengeance on Sonya and Jax, where it would cause them to fall off a cliff for a change. He was absent for Deadly Alliance and Deception as he was busy carving out the pit below the arena and sharpening stalagmites.
That actually gives Jarek some kind of agency, like being the Mortal Kombat equivalent of Jay from The Inbetweeners
The Sonya/Jax/Jaerk endings are some of the goofiest and funniest endings I've ever seen in the MK4 endings..
I'm a big fan of Scorpion's ending where Quan Chi is just standing behind him the whole time waiting to blow his own cover and immediately facing karma for it, partially because that buffoonery is canon.

MK4 is a horrific masterpeice pf a videogame and should be remembered fondly due to its funniness despite it being just a horrible game.
I think all Armageddon profiles are in first person so Jarek lying is possible and him being embarrassed at his funny defeat is plausible to make up.

Very interesting theory, although I doubt this makes him "Mortal Kombat's BIGGEST liar."
On a different note, it was always hard for me to pick a least favorite character in MK because I love them all; considering that the PS2 era characters are always unfairly hated, and certain characters are liked because of how "cool" their idea is in theory but the execution is actually meh, or how MK11 has the worst story ever but the best character design ever, etc... some time ago I decided to try and do a semi-objective ranking of all MK characters giving each one of them a vote from 1 to 5 on Concept, Design, Story, Gameplay, and Finishers, then averaging the total and using that order of importance for tie breakers.
Jarek came out last. (Concept: 1, Design: 2, Story: 2, Gameplay: 4, Finishers: 1)
So to me he's officially the worst MK character.

Snake, I have a video suggestion. The evolution of MK. Basically, in that video you can describe everything new that was introduced in every installment in the entire Mortal Kombat franchise, not just the games, but everything MK. You could even include inclusions of major members of the team behind MK and installments of the franchise where we saw for the last time specific elements of the franchise or members of the team.
Here are some suggested clarifications for the rules (obviously, you can make the rules however you wish, these are jyst recommendations):
-X-Rays, Fatal Blows, Krushing Blows, generally all kinds of similar unique gameplay mechanics count as special moves.
-Liu Kang's MK1 fatality counts as a heroic brutality.
-MK3 and MKX/11 Brutalities count equally as brutalities, which are considered seperate from heroic brutalities.
Allow me to give you an example.
MK1: Mortal Kombat, Outworld, Netherrealm, Kano, Liu Kang, Raiden, Johnny Cage, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Sonya, Goro, Shang Tsung, Reptile, Elder Gods, gods, spectres, special attacks, fatalities, stage fatalities, heroic brutalities, White Lotus, Shokans, Black Dragon, Special Forces, Shirai Ryu, Lin Quei, secret bosses, glitch rumors, Ed Boon, John Tobias, John Vogel, Dan Forden, prequel material, 2D gameplay, alternate ports, motion capture.
(If I made any kind of mistakes in here, feel free to correct them in the video or to inform me.)

If jarek claims he survived by falling into a ravine at the bottom, then technically sonya could've survived that also, making that ending canon still. Maybe Jax found her later alive and that's why she's in mkda, while jarek ran away after the fall in the same ravine that saved him and sonya.

All the Armageddon profiles are written in first person, so this theory that Jarek made up a story of how he went off the cliff would make sense.
I have a suggestion, "What Mortal Kombat Arcade endings are canon?" Canon Ball. A continuation of the Resident Evil and Silent Hill "Which endings are canon?" Besides, Most if not all Netherrealm endings aren't canon so you won't have to talk much about those.

My rewrite of this scene (makes more sense IMO):
Sonya tricks jarek into falling and jarek pretends to fall but sticks on the mountain and starts climbing, sonya reports to jax that he stopped jarek and he is dead, jax is in a helicopter to pick up sonya and is relieved that sonya is alive, with the the com still on, sonya gets pulled off the cliff by jarek and falls, jarek taunts jax that sonya is dead and breaks the communication device, jax gets there before jarek escapes and does the iconic fatality.
I know that Hsu-Hoa is infamous towards the fan base for being ranked number 1 in being the supposedly worst character in this series and no offense and don't mean to come across like Im bashing Ed-Boon but he really could of simply have updated his gameplay and design it would not have been much effort instead of complaining about how he regrets making him and having the character cameo for this series exclusively for shallow meme of this character sucks . I feel like he at least as far as his story goes has achieved more things than some other characters especially compared to some NRS newcomers like Kollector and Ferra/Torr and I feel like a jerk for saying this but also Erron-Black because despite him being a popular character and I also like him. He however hasn't really done much for the story modes of X and 11/Aftermath beyond being a jobber and his shooting skills really don’t shine either with him constantly missing targets right in front of him and with him always getting bodied and eating dirt even getting axed by Mavado in the MK-X comics. Like Hsu-Hoa in his debut game at least was able to succeed in being a mole for the red-dragon which was recycled for Kano just switch the red with the black in the NRS entries and Hsu-Hoa even succeeded in blowing up parts of the special forces home base and destroyed there teleporter and in the comics he and his boys came close to wiping out Kenshi and his son after they killed his wife. So while yes he was killed by Jax in MK-DA and by Scorpion in the MK-X comics at least they were strong combatants and his head cameo for Erron in MK-11 is just shallow fan service for the haters so its probably not 100 percent canon. I mean Da-Vorah claims to have killed King-Jerrod who honestly believes that. Speaking of him why does MK-11 have 3 people being supposedly responsible for his death it's like some sort of dank meme scenario or the writers being too lazy to correct themselves like the series treats him in a similar way to Hsu-Hoa like good grief and he hasn't even been playable in the series yet. But to get back on point Hsu-Hoa still did more than characters such as Jerek Kobra Kira Ferra/Torr Kollector Erron-Black Darrious Dairou heck even Cetrion got her butt kicked by Jaqui-Briggs and even Kotal minus his comic portrayal was 90 percent a jobber like good grief thats pretty bad. So while the Mongolian dude is ranked higher in the Razzy awards than Jarek he has still has done more that he has with his only glory to fame being falling off a cliff and recycling Kano's gameplay by 90 percent and his story largely being also from him in MK-4. And also give the Red-Dragon leader Daegon some credit as well he was a more threatening antagonist for this series than how Kronika was handled despite Armageddon having far less dev time and budget than MK-11. I mean I know she has already got dunked on plenty by the fanbase already but it feels like the story writers didn't really care to put much effort into her portrayal especially in Aftermath where she pretty much recycled most of her scheme that failed her the first time despite her supposedly countless timelines and resets she has been through and she still got easily humiliated by the heroes & Shang-Tsung. And her constant boasting despite her screw ups paints her as a braggart and a tunnel visioned doofus.

For a moment, I thought this was going to discuss Jax's ending where Jarek tries to bullshit his way out of an execution, and look into Geneva Conventions or something. Which would actually be pretty funny to think about in the context of Mortal Kombat's lore.
Also, I'm sorry to hear that Stone Ocean fell off for you. Personally, I enjoyed it, but I respect your opinion. At least you have three parts left to await anime adaptations for!

In all honesty, as someone who read the manga before the Part 6 anime came out, I enjoyed it, but I'm aware that it's a divisive part. Lots of people like it, lots of people don't, and that's fine.
In my opinion, the anime adaptation was kinda _meh._ I loved parts of the anime, but there were a couple things that bogged it down for me, especially the overuse of 3D CGI. It was a bit jarring to see to be honest.
