Assuming Shao Khan never took a tournament cycle off after beating Edenia (the first realm he merged), as it doesn't seem within his character to do so. For the 10,500 years Khan has been challenging other realms to Mortal Kombat he has (assuming he wins on the first attempt except for Earthrealm) merged 18 realms into Outworld including Edenia, Zaterra and Vaeternus.
This would mean Outworld is the 19th realm, Earth the 20th, Seido 21st, Chaosrealm 22nd and the Netherrealm is the 23rd realm of existence in the MK universe, not including non canon ones like the Dreamrealm (which I hope Khan hasn't conquered).
This could either mean the Elder Gods split the One-Being into 23 pieces or 6 realms and made the Kamidogu around that then made more realms for whatever reason.
I would like to believe that the One-Being was split into the 23 Realms and all 23 have a Kamidogu but since most of them are still merged with Outworld only 6 appear in Deception, although Vaeternus' should also appear making it 7.
Having to merge 23 realms to mark the return of the One-Being sounds like much more of a challenge that would take a LONG time rather than just 6 "Major Realms" and having a bunch of minor realms that's only point of existence is to delay Shao Khan.
I'm also going with the idea that, to explain why the Elder gods would curse Shang Tsung to rapid aging, he would represent Earthrealm in its first tournament against Outworld and win but be found out to have cheated and that tournament would be a no contest keeping it 0-0.
Khan would track down an elderly Shang and offer to teach him soul magic to get him on his side for the next tournament and the rest is history. So you could get rid of the extra 50 years from your working out if anyone tries this kinda thing.

That stage could be in Chaos Realm.
It's an Island stuck in between Earthrealm and Outworld and is constantly shifting between them, Earthrealm being the "happily vacation island" side, and Outworld being the "dark and scary island" side.
Although honestly the idea of it being in Chaosrealm would've been neat.

The Chaosrealm and Orderrealm should be explored more we know the stories of Earthrealm, Outworld, Edenia and the Netherrealm so much already.
we don’t know much of edenia though we know more of it than we do of chaos and orderrealm

@@Zaire_39 they’re probs to gonna ruin more characters from edenia with king jerrod,just like sindel, be retconned to oblivion next,make him some all powerful king of the dead that hates kitana and doesn’t care for his realm and just wants everything to be a complete wasteland with lots of power leaking from corpses which is where he gets his new powers from. He’s gonna make some convoluted backstory on how he could’ve kill Shao in the invasion of edenia but he wanted to get more power through the dead/spirit realm. His plan becomes successful thanks to banshee thot killing him through deception. And now he wants to see every realm dead as a corpse and a complete wasteland. He then has Shao Kahn as his personal dog and mileena as his best daughter in his ending while sindel is basically his meal for him to feast on. Kitana will officially have an evil mom and dad who are both fucked up in the head as each other. To top it off, he breaks the power scaling
If they can ruin Sindel, what is stopping them from doing it to jerrod if he does come into the games? It seems idiotic considering he’s a background character but given What NRS can do to butcher characters, it’s not that far fetched to think writers will probs ruin jerrod just for the sake of giving kitana an identity crisis. Not only that, off NRS do this, then kitana will officially have a mum and dad who both surpassed Shao and mileena ,in Terms of how evil can they be when it is not in their character at al.
We do know about Edenia history it was a beautiful and peaceful realm it was ruled by King Jerrod and Queen Sindel the realm got invaded by Shao Kahn he killed Jerrod and Sindel was force to marry him and she end up killing herself abandoning her daughter Princess Kitana who Shao Kahn raised as his own once Liu Kang defeated Shao Kahn in MK3 Edenia was freed and Sindel and Kitana ruled Edenia once again (ORIGINAL TIMELINE)
Argus along with his sons Rain, Taven and Daegon is the god of Edenia however Argus abandoned Edenia which why Edenia is always easily like the first realm invaded in a crisis cause there were no protectors as Taven and Daegon was in a eternal slumber and their mother Delia was killed we already know Edenia story and Edenians age slowly.

I always thought the contrast and possible political conflict of Seido and the Chaos realm were wasted. All NRS cares about is Earthrealm, Netherrealm, and Outworld

Edenia has waterfalls that lead to nowhere, idyllic pastures, thick forests, jagged mountains, deep volcanic shrines, and impossibly high cliffs the settlements are built on. Based on what we see from deception and armageddon.
I for one would love a stage taking you to wherever it is those waterfalls lead to.

Honestly I played with the concept of the Chaos Realm and Order Realm in my head a few times. I think that both would open a large amount of portals for potential if they ever actually 'tried'.
The Chaos Realm has a bunch of residents that are generally atypical in both neurology and biology; that is to say, their morality and mindset of the world and elements can be so alien and crazy, that it can lead to a wide amount of character interactions and play throughout different settings where they can bring about 'chaos' due to a mis-understanding of others towards them, or due to how their 'morals' work totally different than other realms, such as introductions being that of just fighting. There is also the concept where the ability to be immune to any real damage, and their body being able to contort and move in irregular ways, as well as function, also opens a lot of options.
Not to mention the Order Realm already had elements played about for both the new and old timeline... old being that of order residents invading otherworld in order to try to change a chaotic setting into their own, as well as the non-canonical endings of MK9 bringing about the influence of the order realm just causing negative or positive changes towards the characters 'similar' to Chaos Realm. Not to mention that their insectoid-like samurai clothing and armour as well as their apparent 'magma magic??' could be used for a lot of combat potential...
But that would require netherrealms to be creative.
U could re make a deadly alliance plot, this time with havik and hotaru
1:12 I think the Outworld stages can be excused a little as Edenia, as the MK4 prequel comic by John Tobias goes with the idea that Edenia IS Outworld. (For Centuries, the realm of Edenia was shrouded in darkness, ruled by the vicious Emperor Shao Kahn. Under Kahn's Rule, Edenia became known as Outworld; right from the first page) Based on the fact this also stated in MK2, it seems this was Tobias's intention.
But this is a good video. Not only would I like to see those realms expanded, but it would be cool to see creative new ones as well. Hopefully, the second reboot will do that.
I think the idea is that using Outworld stages, but transformed back into a Edenian state would be great.

Edenia really got wasted as a realm, we could’ve see sindel, kitana and jerrod be a happy family and how Shao fucked them over one way or another, we can get to see how terrible rain’s childhood was like growing up and how Argus ain’t really the heavenly protector god or how tanya’s treacherous nature came to be and how she is so in love with it and so much more examples.
Orderealm and the chaosrealm isn’t explored a lot in the modern games. I hope they do in their next installment

If anything, this game set it up perfectly thanks to Shang’s endings. We could a similar da plotline with havik and hotaru and we can flesh out their characters on how both sides of the same coin can lead to ruinous effects which in reality makes havik and hotaru the vile villain in mk history

@@osirisjojo6876 I can see nitara come back in this maybe her realm is off radar and havik and hotaru try to get her help for the big face off and maybe have her help the duo as jerrod could be the key to get revenge on shao Kahn for conquering her realm.
They could try to bring back jerrod by rescuing ermac and by restoring him to his true self (get rid of his brainwashing that Shao put him on similarly to how sindel was brainwashed by Shao) and him being restored gives him his old powers which makes him the extreme powerhouse of the group . He’ll be in his mk2 Malibu comic costume or jerrod will be in ermac’s attire
Stryker and kabal could have some sort of war against hotaru as he is the vile order while these two are the opposite
Smoke could come back trying to restore his clan
Basically, what I can see going down shang vs havik, hotaru, jerrod/ermac, nitara, smoke/Tomas varbadas and Kurtis Stryker as the final war and havik and hotaru betray absolutely everyone

Havik and Hotaru needs to return honestly. They are perfect as Rivals, Chaos Vs Order.
The order realm absolutely enchanted me when I was younger. I remember exploring every single building and corner of the map I could get into. All of the guards looked super cool and I wish I could see that badass armor in the newer graphics one day.
If I had the chance to write a MK story, I would’ve used all the realms given and just add either new kharacters, or bring back forgotten kharacters and just repackage them into the story. Like Zebron and Zaggot being from Chaosrealm, or Abacus and Aynos being from Seido(Zaggot, Abacus, and Aynos are all from the Malibu Comic series)
Zebron being from the chaosrealm would be perfect. We also need Moloch, Drahmin, and Belokk for more netherrealm characters.
Zebron is a joke character of a concept, so I'd say it's best to leave it as it is.
So far, MK12 seems to be set in both Earthrealm and Outworld. Again.
Vaeternus isn't featured in Deception because it doesn't have a Kamidogu. The One Being was split into SIX fragments thus creating the Kamidogu. Vaeternus, Zaterra, etc. are MINOR realms. And yes, Jade's Desert (aka THE Desert) is an Edenian desert.
Isn't there a side-quest in Deception where a caped woman asks you to retrieve an orb to restore her realm? Nitara's ending also has her retirieve an orb. I'd say that minor realms still have artifacts that represent them, they're just not as important or powerful as the Kamidogu.
there are kingdoms in MK and without kamidogu and there are thousands of such realms, if anything
Osk-Tekk realm was also briefly shown in the comic as well
We can only hope that those Realm returns someday. Shang Tsung's MK Aftermath story ending hinted at it, so who knows
I think a good idea for the orderrealm is to make hotaru the MK’s version of hitler since he is about order and havik (wasted plotential for him too) basically the twisted freedom fighter (he sees chaos as freedom)
Imagine hotaru being so hellbent on willing to establish order through the realms that he’s willing to put a truce with havik temporarily, at least to take down supertitan Shang tsung. Both heroes and villains know that this is bad as they’re r the only armies not conquered amd their beliefs can lead to all the realms being worse off if one of the two succeed and u can even implement the kamidogu dagger plot line similar to mkx only with the fact hotaru knows where some kamidogu daggers are and havik, exactly the same. U can even have Stryker get some character development with him calling out hotaru with strict and violent as after all he is a policeman. Havik and hotaru become elder gods of blood and together they destroy soul Titan Shang Tsung and then they betray each other due to their extremist beliefs about what they think and the player can decide who becomes the victor: havik or hotaru with either endings being as fucked up as each other
Havik’s ending will have every realm in flames with him being the Titan of chaos, with his minions such as shinnok, cetrion, raiden, fujin, Kotal, Shao and geras to help havik with the realms going into anarchy.
Hotaru’s ending will be with all the realms looking very futuristic and dystopian with it looking peaceful at first. But then, u look at heroes (e.g. Sindel, Johnny cage, Jax Briggs) who’s suffering and crying bcoz they have to witness their children suffer eternal torment and they face death as their final punishment with the children of the heroes(e.g. kitana, Cassie, jacqui) not wanting to go so soon as they want to spend more time with theor loved ones but hotaru’s men kills them off anyway with no emotion. U can even have him kill children for little to no reason to establish the fact that hotaru is just as fucked in the head as havik despite both of them being complete opposites. It then ends with hotaru being showcased as the Titan of order.

The sin of the 3D era is that they introduced way too many concepts and never got to truly explore any of them. While all those concepts have the potential to lead to some intresting storylines, they never got explored in depth, so they ended up just as that, ideas that never got truly realized.
i think that just makes nrs look worse, they have so many amazing ideas from the 3d era that never got realized and would make the world of mortal kombat so much better, but they just re use the same stories from the trilogy era

I've always felt the same about the realms. Only the main 3 get to be important and the other realms are always just mentioned.
We really need more variety from the realms than just the standard Earthrealm, Outworld and Neatherrealm we get from the NRS era!
They even basically retcon Edenia being freed since it only happens in Kitana's presumably noncanonical tower ending and now she's busying herself as Khanum of Outworld even though she was always portrayed up until then as being Edenian and that by every use of logic should be Mileena's destiny.

Now that I think about it, even Outworld and Netherrealm are under-explored. I mean, Outworld seems to just be "not-Earth" type of world that feels kinda small while Netherrealm is just generic hell.
So, what if, every Outworld stage in the games represented one of the conquered realms? Like Colliseum and other more "civilized" parts are Edenia, deserts are realm of Tarkatans, badlands with ruins are remains of Zaterra, some "spooky" and dark places are Vampire realm (I'm not even gonna try to spell it's name) etc? Wouldn't that make Outworld feel much bigger and more vast? BTW, I always wondered why do Outworlders call their realm Outworld, because that name only works from Earthrealm's perspective.
As for Netherrealm, does anyone remember it's depiction in Mythologies: Sub Zero, that depicted it as somewhat industrialized dystopian world with factories in the background and robots roaming around? Even regular stage enemies looked like humans rather than like typical demons. It's kind of amusing that company which literally has Netherrealm in it's name presents said realm as generic and boring shithole where there is nothing even remotely interesting to see.
Honestly, NRS needs to hire some actually creative people to design their world, because world they presented to us in last three games is kinda boring.
Recently bought Deception Unchained again for the vita. I appreciate the effort they put in with all the different game modes. Chess, puzzle, endurance, and a lengthy free roaming mode i spent many hours on. Quite the difference from playing "offline" on mk11 where the fights are just getting mad at cheap towers shooting rockets at you every fight.
The days of unique and interesting sub games and extras is pretty much dead, sad to say. Not just for MK either, just as a whole.
I really think Orderealm is very underrated. After so many games focusing only in the war between Earthrealm and outworld (or Netherealm), it would be interesting to see a plot taking place in Orderealm, exploring the concept of the civil war between a totalitarian regime and an insurgency and touching in themes such as freedom vs opression and abuse of power.

I know I noted this in another of your videos but I find it funny how Nether Realm Studios almost primarily focus on the Nether Realm in their games. Outworld was the focus of MK9 but the Nether Realm was manipulating both parties, it had a bigger focus on MKX with Shinnok being the villain and in MK11 its where the main villain is and is still pretty much the primary threat. At least in the older games it was more varied, you had Outworld threats, Nether Realm threats, Edenian threats. Now its just Nether Realm all the time after Shao-Kahn has been dethroned.

Fights against Shaolin monks got the shaolin temple
Fights against hellspawn got the Netherrealm
Fights against Edenian royalty got Edenia's throne room
Fights against Reptile got the remains of Zaterra
Even if stages all arround the world (or multiverse in that case) don't make much sense for the tournament setting... Come on now, MK has moved past all games being set a tournament on it's second game already.

I remember no lifing Mk Deception when I got. I got it MANY years after it came out but I still had a lot of fun with the gameplay and konquest mode. As much I would like havok, nitara, etc to be dlc. I'd much rather have mk12 just give us them day 1 and the story talk about and explore those realms and characters.

Someone else in the comments mentioned that Zebron, a joke character that exists in a simple piece of sketch art in Deadly Alliance, would actually be fitting for a Chaosrealmer and I gotta agree. Havok is meant to be only moderately chaotic since as the cleric and also the representative of Chaosrealm, he needs to be able to express SOME control when interacting with other realms and bringing others to the cause of chaos. Zebron is a literal zebra in a tuxedo and the only known info is a footnote mentioning that he's allegedly a prince fighting to free his race. Free them from what? What race? Where is he from? If we throw the dice about him being, say, the Prince of Chaosrealm and we pull a Bizarro where Chaosrealm is literally too safe and predictable, I could see him going to fight to make it so the realm is in a more precarious position.
NRS only think three realms exist in Mortal Kombat and it’s infuriating. Earth realm, Outworld and the Netherrealm are not the entire universe you clowns.
They know other Realms exist, they just choose not to do anything with them for some reason
This really makes me think back to my time playing through Deception as a kid. I remembered how cool I thought it was to explore places like Chaos Realm and Edenia (FINALLY), and I was so disappointed with pretty much everything around/after it in that regard :(
I know we talk a lot about MK lore and world-building here, which I love, but this just so easily fits into an argument of surface-level aesthetics too. I'm fuckin sick of looking at Outworld and Earthrealm and the Netherrealm, please for the love of the Elder Gods work on the visual design in these games of something other than the gore
In MK9 after Shao Kahn was defeated Edenia was suppose to been freed cause that's one of the 6 main realms so that was a Plot Hole but there be no rulers as Kitana and Sindel was killed well Rain was in the shadows but he's evil so.

I like MKX the most in the new trilogy, but I'll never get over how bizzarely they portrayed Outworld with that whole "don't believe everything you read on the Internet, the sky isn't purple here!". okay, champ, but what about the previous game then? huh? yeah, not so smart, are you, Kung.
anyway, I actually played Deception for the first time last year. it was so amazing to explore all those realms. unparalleled atmosphere, even most of the boring new characters have *something* interesting about them, though often underdeveloped. I get why they went with the "everyone's here" thing in Armageddon, but it'd be so much better to see the relationships between all these realms (and characters from those realms) develop.

What we needed was a game focused solely on the conflict between Chaosrealm and Orderrealm. Maybe something like "Their war has reached to such a degree that it's bleed into other realms, along with the blood of their fallen warriors," and make it a moral dilemma about the security and totalitarianism of order and the anarchy and freedom of chaos. There; one game concept in less than a minute.
This concept needs to be there for Aftermath part 2 otherwise, it’ll be another wasted potential like sub said

Knowing Netherealm, they would screw up Edenia if they tried to focus on it. It would be like when Bioware hyped up the Asari homeworld of Thessia, only to finally go there in Mass Effect 3 and discover it's another bland brown and grey environment.

I made a headcanon directed to lesser realms (like Zaterra, Vaiternus, etc) implying that they are parts of Outworld separated by dimensional rifts. This is based in some speculations like: it has never been clear if Shao Kahn conquered these realms through Mortal Kombat or each of them have a kamidogu like the six main realms. Outworld is very confuse. We also have the void and the heavens, which in one of them the Elder Gods reside.
I think the reason that MK4's stages feature so many familiar Outworld locations and not any original Edenia stages is because the idea of Edenia being a realm that was merged into Outworld and set free later didn't come about until Deadly Alliance, or at least it always seemed that way to me. When I originally played MK4 and read its coming back in 1997, it seemed to suggest that Edenia WAS Outworld, renamed by Kahn when he conquered it and then changed back to Edenia once Sindel and Kitana took over (and it also seemed implicit that Shao Kahn was meant to have been killed at the end of MK3, something else that Deadly Alliance retconned). That is why we see so many Outworld stages in MK4, because the writers figured what was Outworld is now Edenia. Deadly Alliance would retcon it so that Edenia was merely a realm that was absorbed into an already existing Outworld and later set free, and Shao Kahn was still alive and ruling Outworld.
Chaosrealm and orderrealm are interesting and unique realms.

Using for example the MCU for a sec, look at everything they have used, Earth and other planets, Asgard even Titan
If you think about it, there's a metric ton of material that can be mined from each realm, even Earth.
Edenia- From the name and backstory you'd expect a paradise of nature and for the warriors to be skilled in sorcery and in fighting in older styles to compliment Earth's technology. This place is effectively the High Elf area from literally any western RPG.
Earth- Raiden has a temple between dimensions...so does Fujin too? How about the other elemental gods? What of the Furies mentioned in MK1 and MK2 that were said to maintain our dimensional walls? Surely they had to reside somewhere. Also the Zaterrans originated from Earth millennia ago, is there any traces of their civilization left?
Seido- They also appear to use technology, though mixed with magical/spiritual forces. What does that look like? Also for those that fight against the government, they must have an area that they use to plan and meet. Or perhaps they left the cities and now reside somewhere else?
Chaosrealm- Literally NOTHING ever stays the same or makes sense. One day it could rain bacon or the sun could radiate cold. You could make up anything you want and just go "Oh it's just Tuesday, this kinda thing often happens on Tuesdays." This is the easiest realm to use!
Outworld- So with the advent of the Osh-Tekk and Kytinn, show us the parts of their realms that got merged. Or Ferra/Tor's realm. Show us the Kollector's home. Where does Bo Rai Cho live and train?
Netherrealm- How many layers does it have, and what is each like? What of the "civilization" there, is it made up of reformed demons, or lost souls that have to repel the Oni daily? Where was Shinnok sealed until he met Quan Chi?
And then you have all these side areas, like the Nexus, the hall of the Elder Gods (I dunno if it was ever given a proper name, but the place where Raiden always meets them.), and so on. Like...seriously how no one at NRS can utilize such wide untapped potential is honestly impressive in how astonishing it is.
I think the reason why MK4 didn't have any Edenian stages was because at the time the story wasn't "Edenia was a realm that was merged into Outworld", but "Outworld was what Edenia became when Shao Kahn took it over". At least the MK4 comic and Kitana's MK2 ending give me that impression. That makes all Outworld stages at the time Edenian. The later games (Deadly Alliance implicitly, Deception explicitly) established that Edenia was merged into Outworld, but it seems like this plot point simply didn't exist before Deadly Alliance.
Man I'm so pissed off that Edenia didn't get as much representation as it deserves! It's based off of the garden of Eden after all and it was corrupted by Shao Kahn into Outworld!! Aside from the so-called finale in Defenders of the Realm and a little bit in Annihilation, we hardly ever see Edenia!!
With this video in mind I'll make sure that I represent nearly all realms and leave out the insignificant once if I should continue my MK fics.

Not entirely relevant, but as Ed Boon confirmed that Mars is in Earthrealm, could we have a Martian fighter in at least one game, with stupid 50s sci-fi weapons made murderous, like a tripod and some heat ray cannon thing?
If mars is in earthrealm, earthrealm is a big solar system or another dimension, which in total, there are 5/6 dimensions in mk.

As a fan who has played every MK game on release, my main gripe with the franchise now is how they sideline all the amazing places and characters set up in the 3D era.
The smartest thing they can do is redo the timeline (as it's suggested in MK aftermath), and this time, make Chaos Realm a threat that gets every realm involved. We all know Havik is a massive threat. Be cool if he was used to get Shao Kahn to fight with Earthrealm or something.
I think u can make hotaru another massive threat as well since he is so focused on order as well and according to aftermath, his realm is the one of the two realms that has not been conquered yet.
U can also show how both hotaru and havik are both fucked up in the head due to their beliefs although different, they are so extreme to the point that other villains and heroes have to put a stop to their madness.
Basically have aftermath be An all out villian brawl with Shang, havik and hotaru

NRS can and should def revisit this. MK Deception was my favorite simply for its inclusion of new realms.

I feel sad that probably netherrealm studios dont want to explore those worlds, and kinda make sense to their own lore.

We really should have had a Edenia stage in the MK games very miss oppurtunity.
To be honest I'd also like to see more varied locations in say Earthrealm y'know what's sopposed to be OUR earth just within the context of the MK universe and metaphysics. Like how does the lore of say the Zaterans (Reptile's race) fit into the timeline of Earthrealm since we know they originated from there with the realm of Zatera being their adopted home after being forced to flee from Earth during the great war between gods? (Shinnok's rebellion) I can only imagine a stage set in an archeological site where some of Earth's archeologists have uncovered evidence of a SUPER old civilization that at first they think is some previously unknown human civilization that had alot of strange figures carved on stone walls, many with lizard heads, perhaps some long forgotten gods and mythology. And even then I find the potential plot lines set in MK's earth very interesting, like how has Raiden kept himself and his Wushi order from the prying eyes and hands of the say China's CCP government? (if it exists in the MK universe)
How can Raiden say he is the guardian of Earth and claims to care for its inhabitants greatly yet systemic warfare and civil strife ravages many of the nations on earth, after all why would soldiers like Sonya Blade or Jax Briggs need to exist if everything was so peaceful? I think exploring Raiden's dilemma regarding all the war between Earth's countries would've been neat to see, having to witness one horrible, bloody conflict after the next over thousands of years, how has he not been driven mad by such? Why don't the Lin Kuie or Shiri riyu (Scorpion's clan) NOT use y'know fucking GUNS to do their assassination missions or mercenary contracts? (other than dumb rule of cool..) How powerful is Kano's Black Dragon gang in terms of their criminal empire within earth, do they compete with the likes of say the Mexican cartels for a slice of the illegal drug trade? How come we never got a proper French Kombatant huh!? (I'm half serious about this)
This seems to be part of a bigger problem, in both the Midway and NRS era they add parts to the lore of the series but barely do anything fun with it, it's like they just use their most obscure lore to give backstorues to characters, yet we never get to see those things.
Also, a war between Chaos and Order realms which gets so out of hand that the elder gods decide the winning real will be decided in Mortal Kombat, that's such an easy plot!
Who else thinks the order realm is super interesting? I always wondered why everything was floating and if there is more things under the part we get to explore in deception.

What if we get to know much about the vampire realm known as Vaeternus where Nitara lives? How cool would it be if this realm has all sorts of vampires such as the Moroi, Strigoi, Nosferatu, Empusa, Edimmu and Nelapsi? It would be very cool! These vampires are the ones I would love to see in MK12! Nitara could be much like Carmilla from Castlevania: Lords of Shadow!
And even the 3 prominent realms that Netherrealm Studios focuses on, they’ve barely scratched the surface of those as well. Especially the Netherrrealm itself, ironically.

I don’t know why, but I was always under the impression that Edenia and Outworld were one and the same. That it was just renamed to outworld after Shao Khan took over.

anyone else subscribe to the theory that kronika and beings like her are not 'above' the one being, they're monstrous cosmic beings on a similar level to him? like the hulk but if his attempts to come back to life/ remake his body accidentally created a whole universe. kronika is someone trying to 'rewrite' his memories, torturing him in the process, elder gods are the one being's morals, and their deaths and rebirth are basically the one being's sense of morality(hence why they made the mk tournaments to keep the one being from being re-awoken unless absolutely necessarry) shao kahn, shinnok, and onaga are aspects of people torturing him trying to make him wake up or the onebeing's self trying to wake up with onaga being the rage from the constant dream, shao being the patient anger, and shinnok being the madness it feels being stuck in a perpetual state of unconciousness. kroni makes cetrion think she's her daughter because she wishes to control the one being and one being's morals surrounding life and death are being corrupted by this outside being.

Chaos, could be like vegas in blade runner 2049... maybe because the atmosphere, gravity is jacked due to constant issues.
Order, could look like Mega City, with massive buildings, but everything is built in perfect symmetric patterns.. and not plant life. because they have terraformed the atmosphere.
Edenia, could look like Avatar (plant life wise), but have a badass skyline with multiple moons, planets or suns... Hell maybe even the planet has a ring around it and you see that in the sky...
Vaeternus, hell i have no idea..

Would have been nice to have explored order and chaos if possible. Hell, it could have made for a great story too if you make it where Order and Chaos are at war and Earthrealm was stuck in the middle. Could make Order come off as bad guys and Chaos seemingly good guys (or both sides just attempting to murder each other and basically you have lawful evil vs Chaotic evil).
This could legit be the plot for Aftermath part 2
may they could make both sides a morally gray area, the order realm has good ideas but its still a totalitarianism realm and wishes to force its morals and government into every realm, and while the chaosrealm is fighting the order realm, they’re still only doing it for their benefit, and earthrealm gets in the middle of that battle.You could basically have a civil war plot for the next game

I was browsing the MK wiki and found some interesting but conflicting information. The page on the wastelands stage says that is the remnants of Edenia, but it is not listed with the other Edenian stages. I was hoping that you know of any lore that can clear this up for me
I remember reading somewhere that the Arnyek islands were from Edenia and one MKX intro with Kitana or Tanya vs D'vorah mentions that the edenians knew of the bug people but "didn't like each other" and just left them on their islands.

Personally I liked more when there wasn't finite amount of realms. Zaterra and Vaeternus being just some realms that Khan invaded and merged before Edenia (or after Edenia and before Earthrealm, it's the same to me). The idea of Khan wining mortal kombat ten times in other realms is great. Now I imagine Outworld's warriors vs a Legacy of Kaine kind of Vaeternus' warriors.

I'd love to see more of Chaosrealm in particular. You could expand on the idea with some real trippy Bosch/Esscher/Dali style imagery.
But wasn't Edinia fused with outworld in the new timelines. I don't think they could really explore edinia.

Yknow what I’ve started realising... what was Shao Kahns plan? Like, he wanted to merge all the realms into one realm right? He wanted to become like the one being right? I literally cannot remember him mentioning this motivation ever. Especially in the newer games. Jesus, he is generic.
i think there’s a line in mk deception where they say that the one being uses his will on people like shao and onaga, so maybe it could be that the one being somehow controls him? he never really gets a motivation and that kinda sucks
I believe he just enjoys conquering places and ruling everything. In his MK Armageddon ending he gains control of everything and goes insane from boredom so it may just be because he's just power hungry and the One Being uses that.
I also have a question about chaos and order realm that I wonder if Shao Kahn conquered realms how come we don’t know if he conquered order or chaosrealm realistically it shows NRS studios don’t care for the other realms.
