And this year they even arranged harvesting of the rice with fans and at some point, my Twitter feed was full of hypmic girlies harvesting rice and taking pictures of their plushies in a rice field 😅

Really recommend driving along the UFO line if you can on a clear day, locades in the mountains south of Matsuyama and Niihama. It's a stunning drive across a ridge with views on both sides.

1st time seeing the scarecrow village was from Whavky Weekend
Even before I got to the end of the bridge and the ¥550 entrance fee at the shack at the end, I had to pay ¥400 to park. I think the giant parking lot (that was only for buses) was where I realized it was a tourist trap.
