Thanks for watching, Dale
The only review I've seen of this specific build of the Inspiron. Good job
Such a great job! This video solved all my doubts before I get to buy this model. Keep it up!
amazing...didnt even know my laptop has space for a 2nd SSD, ....
Sweet. Just bought one with the i71165G7. Was looking for a RAM replacement guide. Thank you!
In fact, this laptop can use pice4.0 SSD
For example, WD sn850 and samsung 980 PRO are both very good choices
, And the memory can also be installed up to 64gb (32gb x 2)
Wireless network card can use intel AX210
So it's perfect
p.s. sn850 is suitable for use on desktop computers
samsung 980 pro is suitable for use on laptops
Whether it's temperature or random access capabilities, I don't know why. When 980pro is used on a notebook computer, the operating experience is better.
This laptop can also be upgraded with a larger battery (53w)
But the speaker module must be replaced~
At the same time, after this upgrade, the second internal m.2 system can be used.
When the new battery module is upgraded, the use time of this laptop can be increased by about 20~23%, but the overall weight will increase by 62g
If there is a second SSD installed, I highly recommend upgrading the battery module...After all, the original 40W battery is really small
Great job Dale !
Thanks Ted!
Great video Dale! It showed me how I can install the second SSD on Dell 5402 to extend its storage capacity! Thanks!
impressive little machine on the inside, just ordered one.
Bro.. is fingerprint included or not??
@@kinthalisantosh8724 yes on power button
Is ur order delivered??
@@kinthalisantosh8724 yes I got it last week. Returned it though. Nice machine I just didn’t really need it.
@@RoastBeefSandwich r u indian or foreigner?? Because fingerprint not launched in India
Thanks for the guide! Appreciate it so much!
There was one thing you didn't make as clear as you could have, but I was able to figure it out on my own somehow. If you put in two sticks of RAM, they do NOT go in exactly the same. One must have the label up and one must have the label down. Other than that, I give you 5 stars.
Thank you so much Uncle Dale. It was very informative.
You make it look so easy!
Why didn’t you leave the 265GB with the OS Original drive there and just add the 500 GB on the other side by the ram?
i was thinking this the whole time.
bcoz that 256GB is slow as fk reading/writing speed and samsung EVO is beast and fast when u have to copy data on it or read from it.
Great video. We have the i5 version that I bought for my wife but she now has no use for it. My old i7 Optiplex won't take Win 11 and with the dual drive capability this laptop will do just fine. Many thanks for answering absolutely every question that I had.
Thank you so much for a fantastically clear video. I was able to upgrade the first time without a hitch. Those vids by 10-year-old kids and foreigners who don't speak clear English have been driving me nuts. My goodness, they should be banned.
most upgradable laptop. 2 slots ssd, 2 slot sodim. SSD NVME support GEN 4 which is up to 6300/2700 R/W
what a professional man!
I love my 5402. I upgraded the ram to 16gb. I don’t need to upgrade the hard drive yet, but one day, yes.
You can have hdd and ssd in 5402?
@@rajkishoreprasad7553 only ssd m.2
Great video, thank you for making it simple..
When i searching for some laying around in my house, i just found some snacks etc. But this man got some nvme 😅
Thankyou anyway for this video 👍
Great info thank you! I've got 2 HP laptops I need to upgrade and at least put ssd drives in, they might be old enough that they may not have an NVMe drive option. We'll see!
They probably can use ssd regular to make them faster.
@@everardoarredondo557 I believe you're correct Everardo! You'd know more than I about them I'm sure. I've only opened 1 of my laptops awhile back when I decided I'd rather pay $89 for a replacement screen for its monitor and take a chance doing it myself rather than pay 3 to $500 for a shop to do it after shopping around. That turned out fine. It's an older i7 Intel model cpu. SSD would be a huge improvement over what it has now! Thank you for your input!!!
I’m glad I can help out good luck buddy. Just believe in your self Can upgrade your laptop to a ssd make your laptop faster.
Great video. I wish mine had opened that easily. Only one of the back screws on mine popped up the cover. Another one came right out witout popping up the cover and the third one just spun in place. I eventually manage to get it open though. Unfortunately, I did break a couple tabs off even though I was really careful. I now have 1tb and one 500gb drive. I was orginally going to use the drive that came with the laptop, but it is too short and there is no way to mount it. Anyway, everything is working okay so far.
great work 👍
Good video, it really helped me ! thanks
Very good job! You really inspire me to do the same! Tks!
Hey thanks. Dale
Great video. thanks a lot
Great video. I have a question though. If the laptop has another NVMe M.2 slot then you could have let the existing SSD stay at its place and just added the new one in the second slot. That way the old SSD would also get utilized, give additional storage and there wouldnt be the need to clone it either. Correct ?
Yes you can do that just you need a mounting bracket for 2nd slot. Look for KYMC9 mounting bracket
WOW! This have a 4th gen pcie slot.
really nice job....I appriciate your work...
Really very detailed video. Thanks
Thanks for this video, I appreciate it
Thanks for checking me out. Dale
At least three videos from your channel have "Saftey Tip From Dale" (in this video at position 10:18); it should of course be spelled "Safety" :)
You can make a video about another partition in the final of the m2 sata replacement ?
Another amazing video :)
Thanks much. Dale
Excellent video, very useful
Hi Dale I have just bought the i5 version of this and this really helps when I need to upgrade the SSD, Can I ask what would happen if you installed a second SSD into the second slot and simply coppied all of the windows data onto both drives, I assume it would get confused and the BIOS would go for the original drive, unless you changed the boot drive, or would it be better to ensure you had a good copy of the original drive and then delete it? Also Could you use a second drive with say Linux as a seperate entity (like a split personality computer!) and use a boot controller, to select which OS to run?
Thanks in advance
I have exactly the same laptop, however, the space for the second NMVE drive is somehow at the same place as the speaker,.... so it is difficult to install it properly
I am using this laptop
which screw driver is used to open bottom base[ has 7 tiny screws] in dell vostro 5402 laptop ..please let me know
thanks for this video
Thanks for watching. Dale
I really like your work bench, do you have drawings for it, I would like to build that in my garage.
Note that the second m.2 slot supports nvme, sata and Intel optane.
Ótimo vídeo! Excelente!!! 🤙
Buying this i5👍
Do you recommend this laptop ?(build quality /battery life) - i look on the vostro 5402 ... thanks
Thanks for the video. I've never done this myself, but I'll try to make this happen.
What size screw is that at the end that is used for the second SSD?
Also wondering if you need an actual bracket or if the screw is enough. The Dell website shows this actual bracket that seems to cover it but I'm not sure if that's necessary.
Hi CCC, just a question, what type of nvme m2 did you use? Im still confuse between 2230 or 2280 compatibility with my inspiron 14, hoping to hear from you.
Hi , what do I do if that plastic hole for the second ssd is not threaded 17:05
Does the laptop support dual operating system..
Because I do coding for my engineering so for that I need to install Linux also apart from the windows 10
So will it support it??
great video, would you recommend disconnecting the battery just to add ram in an empty slot?
Thanks. If you are VERY CAREFUL, you should be fine. Dont drop or touch anything when doing it.
@@CadillacComputerCenter thank you!
TOP! Is there more space for a second SSD?
Hello Friend!
I have a Dell Inspiron 15 7000, where it has a ssd m.s 128GB windows 10 home system, plus a mechanical HD of 1TB. I want to install 01 ssd m.2 of 480GB. Do you have any videos in that direction?
Can i have hdd and m2 both in thus model?
What if i already have partition on old drive... Do i need to delete partitions first or no need
When you clone. No need to delete partitions.
Hi there i just bought one of these with 8gb and I was wondering what ram I can buy that will work with the.
Do we have to clone it with the adaptor to add a new ssd to the laptop ?
I have a question when changing the Ssd did you clone the operating system to the new ssd?
Hi. Yes, I did a complete clone.
Hi there,
If I were to install a secondary drive, would I need to clone the original SSD or could I just plug in a secondary 250GB or 500GB NVME M.2 into the second slot? I use this laptop for my college work and I'm running out of space lol.
I had the same question when he said that there is another SSD slot
Hello, can i ask what type of Ram should i buy?
Do you know if it supports 4.0 PCIe SSD?
Brasil
You can add SDD and RAM but you can't upgrade the processor 🤣
Sir how many slots for the SSD in this laptop
thank you sir i got it
2 m.2 slots. Thx
Any idea why it says 8 slots?
Hi..yeh, I've seen this before. Windows will mis report that slot info . Usually once you get all the updates and chipset drivers updated, this will fix it. Dale
