You'd be surprised, I had a colleague visit from the US recently who thought Waitrose is a bargain / cheap food shop, like Lidl or Aldi. Apparently food prices in LA are much higher
Heh yes. If every house in the UK had a pistol in it for self defence overnight, there'd probably be far more accidents than intended shootings with people imitating every movie they've seen etc.
$84 a week would be more than enough for Jez, he never pays any bills because Mark pays them all, Mark pays for the groceries, the heating, the water, the electricity. Jez would only need to buy his weed and maybe any extra alcohol after finishing Marks supply.
Getting caught with that gun in the UK would land you a 3 to 5 year stretch inside, unless you were VERY good at explaining yourself and had no record or perceivable intent. Most people in the UK have never held a gun, many have never seen one.
Not a gun story but I used to have a key chain with a replica of a rifle bullet (7.62 mm FMJ as well) Totally forgot it was still attached until I put my stuff down at security, and the minute I passed through the detectors I knew my stuff would be pulled aside. Told the guy I knew exactly what it was for and was apologising n tbf he took it pretty well and laughed about it. Said the key chain was actually quite cool but sadly, yet understandably, still had to be taken away 😢
@@lordsummerisle87 Well, if you see a cop as just another adult person like yourself, with the same insecurities, flaws and biases, to know that a largely arbitrary process of career choice and legislation puts that person in control over instant life or death is a little concerning... combined with the utter rarity of gun incidents in the UK making even the mere existence of a gun, with the possibility of crossfire or worse, something we tend to reject. The idea of living our lives in constant awareness of danger from firearms seems like insanity to us, we don't pay taxes to live in a warzone.
My goodness this awkwardness is on a different level my memory of when you met peoples parents at university was fascinating they were part of the whole experience this is so well done I keep eye rolling thanks guys❤
In 2008 one pound was worth on average US$1.85 with a high closing price of $2.03. Then consider inflation/cost of living and whatever other payments he may be receiving. Not too bad considering the pound is currently at $1.27.
dont forget jeremy would also be getting unemployment benefit..prob about £80-£100 a week with his rent and household bills paid.. he could also of probably got his share of rent paid as well in that era
I don't mix any other booze with wine because it gives me the worst hangover but I have Irished up loads of pints in my time. Once I Irished up a vodka and orange because I thought I'd been given an orange juice, it tasted fucking horrible.
Hi there Spencer hope you are enjoying your time in the uk im sure the people on patrion are enjoying hearing about it and seeing your vlogs are u going to be putting any of that stuff on youtube so those of us supporters who are for whatever reason unable to be patrion members can see what u got upto also
This is one of the episodes where you feel realy bad for Mark. Justice for Mark!
"The cost of living might be a little lower over there"... in LONDON?! 😂

We really know nothing about gun safety and I’m happy about that 👍🏻🇬🇧
I know enough to not point one at anyone. Floor seems a good choice of places to point.

Not bad

Everyone and their mums is packing round these parts.
Probably also worth knowing that around that time the £ was about double on the $ so it it would be closer to $150 than $80
I want to go back then

I've only ever seen guns on armed police and I find even that scary
@@cpnlsn88 What's scary about that?
@@lordsummerisle87 It's a weapon of lethality

I've been wondering if it's Super hands or Super Hanz all this time 🤪

Better learn those gun laws quick Spencer the Kid.
Your second Ammendment is an amazing and scary thing. I wish we had that
They have 5 times more murders per capita than us... which proves that more guns does the exact opposite of making people safer.
In the minority there, mate.
It would be nice if we had a written constitution.
I think it's important that they have the second Amendment. If USA falls to a tyrannical government, we're next.
Yeah... But just pea shooters like back in the 80's
