    One thing I have found us once you get organized it's important to STAY organized. Everything has its place and everything in it's place.

    Great tips. I like the drip pan idea under the plumbing. I use a lot of clear totes, but am considering the shelves to open up my front storage.

    Love the D rings. Going to do that. I use milk crates for storage in our front compartment.

      Yeah they definitely help out. We have a few milk crates as well in my front compartment, those things are great.

    Thank you for another great video Chris and great organization on your rig! I love the idea of using stackable bins too. I guess my version of the bins was that I took one of those custodial cart pocket organizers, cut off the velcro straps and screwed it to the back wall of our front compartment and put items such as disinfectant wipes, BoeShield, DeOxIt, trash bags, rags, Tuff Stuff Foam Cleaner and a few other items that are now quickly accessible. Below that in the well of the front compartment is my toolbox full of tools and another toolbox that has misc. parts, such as fuses, tapes, pex pipe connectors, extra sewer hose gaskets, hose clamps, a heat gun and some other extra's. Although we don't have a drop frame 5th wheel, I installed a MORryde sliding cargo tray a couple of years ago that can slide out from either side of the rig. I don't carry a weed-eater but I do have my Makita drill, impact driver, blower, fluorescent light bar, and 4 batteries on those slide-on tool and battery holders attached to the pass-through slide wall. Hanging from the floor joists above that, I have 3 sewer hose hangers that house the American flag, and flagpole, a slide-out measuring stick, a propane tree for the lanterns and a couple of extra sticks of pex pipe. It's fairly well organized but I am always looking for ways to make it better and easier to access our stuff. Thanks for bringing us great content and safe travels!

    Great tips. Wish my basement was as large and a single level like yours. We have the Reflection and I don't have the drop frame like on the Solitudes. We do care a bunch of crap we really don't need, but we've also found that some times we don't know what we need until we get there. LOL Keep up the good work Chris.

      Haha true true. As soon as you decide not to carry something you’ll need it. As full timers trying to decide what specific tools I need to have and what tools I don’t need because I can just Jerry rig something is hard. Do I need a power saw, nope suppose I’ll just cut by hand…do I need a mallet, nope I’ll just hammer it with this wrench hahaha

      @@WhyWait Yes sir, been relgiously watching and doing what I can to mine plus sending over lots of Alliance folks wanting to do the AC mod to ya. I'm semi debating on going to the training my brand offers and becoming a RV tech, sounds kinda fun plus I use to build houses/mobile homes so it isn't that far of a learning curve. Keep up the great videos man! Maybe one day we'll run into you, but we are pretty antisocial and just sit inside our rig hahaha

    Two questions: have you had any issues with the screws from the D rings going all the way through the wall of the pass through into the garage (front) space or vice versa? Also, is there any reason I shouldn’t drill through the aluminum bars on the ceiling of the pass through? Thanks!!

    • @WhyWait
      @WhyWait  Год назад +1

      Nope. That one wall is pretty thick, it’s sorta a firewall due to the possibility of having a generator in there. You will need self taping screws for the metal walls. Keep the screws short though. And no worries about drilling into the top aluminum bars either. See people do it a lot.

    • @robdriggers4911
      @robdriggers4911 Год назад

      @@WhyWait thanks so much! I bought the exact d ring set that you linked to this video. Is the length of those screws good so that it doesn’t go all the way through? We have the same model y’all have-just a 2020.

      2018 Grand Design Solitude 377MBS midbunk

  • @bigdaddy51200
    @bigdaddy51200 Год назад

    It's sad that Grand Design builds these solitudes with all the nice storage you really can't use because of weight issues with the standard 7K axels. I have around 1600 pounds of margin by sticker. These should come standard with 8K triple axels IMO.

    • @WhyWait
      @WhyWait  Год назад

      I agree. It’s crazy I look at some of these newer RVs with rear pass through storage massive basements and they have a cargo capacity of 2,000lbs with 2 7k axles. We are upgrading to 8k axels and new springs next month. Thanks for watching.
