  • Cat is then placed under general anesthesia. The hair on his scrotum is either clipped or plucked, and the skin is scrubbed for sterile surgery. Make small incisions on cat’s scrotum, and the testicles are exteriorized through these incisions. After the testicular attachments are clamped and tied off to prevent bleeding, then each testicle is removed with a scalpel blade. After making sure there is no bleeding, replaces the attachments back inside your cat’s scrotum. Applied local antibiotics.

    My cat was neutered and he was never the same. I will never have another cat spayed or neutered. He went from a loving and affectionate cat to a cat that never wants anything to do with us anymore. He spends all his time hiding now. Taken him to the vet and they said he is fine, that he is just "adjusting". It's been almost a year now. He wants absolutely nothing to do with the family anymore.

      I am very curious about this because I am about to have my 5 month old kitten neutered next month and his brother can not be because of a heart murmur. Would it be better to keep them both intact? I am afraid their interaction will change or the one that is not neutered will become more aggressive as he gets older. The vet says to do it but I am wondering what your thoughts are? I am so sorry about your cat😢

      @@anjilanglois818 He also fights with our female cat (spayed before we got her) constantly now. It's the saddest thing. I regret neutering him every single day. I miss my old cat so much. Worst decision I ever made.

      Don't let one cat ruin ur whole cat experience. All cats react differently to neutering spaying. Its helping the greater good of less fights/ unwanted kittens roaming the streets. Please don't have this mindset. I don't think its the neutering thats causing this. Perhaps the vet trauma. How old was the cat? I took both my cats 8 months old to get neutered and they're still the same old self. Nothing changed mine became more affectionate towards us. Its probably something u did

      Both of mine were neutered when they were small, its been 3 yrs and they are still very loving. I think it's just a the cat that reacted to it based on his personality, some cats just react differently to things, dont think it has anything to do with it being neutered

      Interesting, our cat was super friendly when he was little we got him neutered, can’t remember how old, now he’s a bit of an asshole. You got me wondering if it’s because of the neutering, wonder if it would help to wait till the cat is over 12 months old

    my 7 month year old is having this done this coming Friday and I was wondering is it common for the procedure to sometimes not work? my first cat Spooky in 2004 had this done but he still continued to spray all his life thank God.. he only did it in the basement of our house so it didn’t reek of cat pee just the basement did. was it possible his surgery went wrong and we weren’t told?? i moved to an apartment and if my new kitten Frankie starts to spray I’ll be really unhappy since I have a sensitive smell and apartments are obviously smaller than a house with a basement (there’s nothing grosser than going to someone’s home that smells like a pet store.) my surgeon told me to drop him off at 9am and pick him up at 4pm. why would it take all day if it seems to be a ten minute procedure?? thx

      It's every surgeons protocol mam.

    • @spiritlesswolf2029
      @spiritlesswolf2029 2 года назад +3

      The reason it takes all day is because they wait for the anaesthetic to work and then they do the procedure, and then they wait for it to wear off and for them to be awake enough to take home.

      They usually don’t spray if neutered before they are old enough to start spraying. Once the start spraying, even neutered, theyll keep at it

    • @chefazvv
      @chefazvv 2 года назад +14

      That's the only way you ensure they remain safe, remain healthy and live long. Or they'll end up getting into terrible fights over females and those can greviously injure or even kill them. Also you would not want to add more litters in the days ahead. Non neutered cats live no more than 3 years. Mine are already ten.

      You are not a pet parent ! Cats who don't get neutered run away from House and most of the time they don't come back ! They are extremely aggressive and have bad temper ! This is the only way to keep them safe so they will live with us for more than 10 years non neutered cats die before 1year

      Would you rather have kittens be killed by the hundreds in shelters, or cat pee smell in your house because of spraying, it’s NOT evil, far from it
