Thank you SO MUCH for making this video!! My two cats have their appt to be neutered in about 2 weeks and I'm already A MESS 😢😭 I'm so beyond STRESSED out about having to drop them off and leave them 😢 I don't want them to be scared and alone with me. I don't want them feeling like I left them to be hurt or touched by strangers... Idk.. I'm just VERY STRESSED OUT about their feelings and their healing and this video was very comforting. Thank you 🥹 I'm gonna rewatch it when the appt gets a little closer to calm myself again. I LOVE my fur babies SO MUCH! I CANT WAIT until this is over and behind us 😟
How are they now?? My cats appointment is in 3 weeks and I’m stressing out too! I just bought her a cone (the flower puffy one) and a backpack carrier. I still gotta get her the toilet pad thing too. I hope your two cats are doing better thoo!
We bought our cone about a week ahead and started having our boy wear it progressively longer each day. The surgery is tomorrow, and he's already pretty comfortable with the cone. Hoping this helps!
lol my vet recommend i limit my cat activity for 2 weeks, within two hours getting home he rip his cone off and wanted to play. what a "WELP" moment lol
I kept it on for next 5-6 days, during that time I would take the cone off when it was time to eat or for couple mins let him stretch and groom himself excluding the surgical area the moment he tried to groom the area I would stop him and put the cone on for the rest of the day.
My cat is in heat for the first time today and seeing him suffering is broking my heart so i will take him to vet tmrw, i was so scared about the surgery and i don't want him to be in pain, this video helped me and calmed me down so thank u❤️
I'm getting my little buddy, Fuzz, neutered today and I didn't expect to be so nervous about it! Just wanted to thank you for this video. I feel a little bit more at ease about the post care. I can't wait until he's back to his normal crazy kitten self! :)
My cat had his surgery today. I am about to get him from hospital. I feel so guilty. I have been crying since l left him there. I hope he recovers fast.😢
@@korean__world yes he is good. He seems happy. I give his meds on time. Keep his collar on. It effected me more than him. Thank you for asking. I wish you and your pet friend the fast recovery .
I have been feeling so sad and stressed today because I left my cat at the vet this morning before work. He put up a great fight because he recognized the carrier and refused to go. SO I had to catch him and force him in the carrier which was super stressful for both of us. then just leaving him at the vet like that felt horrible. I feel like a terrible mother. I hope he's doing okay
I know EXACTLY how you feel. Almost like you betrayed your baby. BUT... We do these things because we LOVE our Kitties, and sometimes Love makes you do things you don't want to do. I'm sure your Kitty has only a faint memory of that day and still loves and cuddles and plays, just before. Have you noticed any major changes?

im getting my cat neutered tomorrow and i’m so nervous, i’ll keep all your advices in mind so i don’t stress too much about it. hopefully it all goes well. thank you!
Same here, my male cat is going to be neuter tomorrow. I am extremely worried about my cat. Situation is very stressful for me. How was your experience of neutering your cat?
@@highfvck it went well. First Vet checked weight and temp of the cat. Then he gave Anstheisa to my cat. Surgery went for almost 25 to 30 mins. My cat got conscious in 8 hours. Make sure when you have to neuter your cat, do not give her food and water at least 6 hours before and even after the surgery. After that you can give your cat only creamy food that can easily be disgested by cat after its surgery. Creamy food should be given till 7 days, make sure your cat will drink water. After a week you can give your cat dry food as well. Keep your cat on warm place in whole process. Don't be stress out and worry about your cat. He will be fine, just be with him and take care of his food. That's it 🙂
@@bushrasadaf166 thank you so much I live I germany (for the last 7 years) that's why I probably won't understand 100% what will be said. I will go as you said 6 hours with no food before and after the surgery In hope he feels better and not wanting to go outside and f my hand xD
I just got my cat spayed/neutered yesterday and she’s doing good so far. My clinic didn’t give me a cone ( I did buy one though) , and I did not come prepared with a carrier ( the vet did lend me one temporarily). She is doing good so far and I’m monitoring her and she is still overcoming the effects from the anistatia from surgery , but over all is doing great. She was given staples ; rather than stitches , but I’m making sure my baby is comfortable at all times . Thank you for this video is does bring comfort to me and my girlfriend 😊.
Our operation day was the same for my kitten. However, she never had the "loopy stage" after the surgery, she was her normal wild self. My vet told me and my partner that my kitten needs to wear her cone for the full 14 days, because she, and I quote, "is crazy but smart, and she will try everything to lick it and take off the cone." Her sutures are almost closed, but she did pop the bottom stitch. Fortunately it was about a week after the surgery, and it scabbed over just fine with no issue.
Thank you for this video. I had my female cat spayed a year ago and it was so stressful. Now that I got a new male cat I plan on having him neutered too but I'm so afraid to repeat the same process again. This video helped me consider the neutering more since it does sound like it's less stressful than female spaying. My female cat recovery was almost 3 weeks and it was sooo stressful. Thanks again
I got my baby neutered today and this video is so helpful understand what to expect in coming days. Mine is same as yours full of energy and tried to remove the cone as soon as he came to his senses. He was also banging his collar on the wall to get it off and walking backwards. After he had his first proper post op meal, i have put him in the carrier otherwise he will keep jumping around. I hope he heals soon.
It's comforting knowing someone experience the same things you did. So. Thank you for sharing your experience especially about the cat wearing their cone. I was so worried. Thank you!
im so lucky my last 2 cats dont ever try to lick their incisions, if the cone doesnt work for you though you can try a donut, its less stressful and they can still see to the sides, plus they usually look really cute
This was so good. Straightforward to the point and some very helpful hints. I took my cat my first cat many years go over 18 years ago to a private vet they never gave Oreo a cone. Because it's been so long ago I don't remember nothing so this was very helpful I do remember he didn't have a cone
Just had to leave my kittens at the vet. And they did exactly what you said at the beginning. (Acting like it’s no big deal) my kittens were crying and i was almost too. I got almost no information and now I’m so anxious. But this video helps alot. Thank you♥️
Hey my cat really is bothering me to give her food but she can’t eat because she’s getting operated in the morning :( what should I do I really want her to eat
@@Johuraldn Hi! Give her lots of scratches and reassurance. Grooming with a brush also helps calm cats down. She’ll be whiney tonight but it’ll be over soon!
I have two kittens. I just found out one is a female and I thought she was a male after five months so I had to rename her from Ziggy to Mimi lol I named her after my grandmother who died when I was 19. Our vet said to not eat after 8 pm.
@@maddsbee4579 My cats name was Ziggy but when we took her to the vet we found out she was a female not a male lol and I changed her name completely to Mimi after my grandmother haha
That happened with my cat....lol.....we named her misty.....and later I discovered his sack and was like 🤨. And we named him Felix after the cartoon cat I used to watch as a kid.
My kitten was spayed yesterday but they kept her for the rest of the day and overnight for observation. Standard procedure I'm told. I bought a little shirt to put on her so she can't get to the incision site but when I told the lady at the vet hospital she said no don't put anything on her. I asked about her licking it and she said that's fine it doesn't matter if she does. I'm so confused. Everything I have seen online says not to allow the cat to lick the incision but the vet hospital is saying it doesn't matter if she does. She started licking it as soon as she got home. She actually doesn't seem to be in too much pain just quieter than normal and less active. She jumped on the bed with almost no problem then jumped from there to her bed which is a little higher. She's a little off balance but other than that doesn't seem too bothered by it all. She seemed more bothered by having to go to the vet and actually stay there for any length of time than by the actual operation lol.
2:05 this is correct, I did the same thing and he loves to go in it now, in fact, he even uses when, if he did a bad thing and I find out and I'm about to yell at him, he just sprints straight to it and jumps in thinking I can't get to him while he's inside, and well, it works, cuz after I see him do that, I just giggle and suddenly I'm not mad at him anymore
My 5 mo old male cat took his cone off within an hour of coming home. I put it back on 5 times, each time trying tighter collering. He houdinied out of it for the 5th time and I gave up. Yes he licked the area but not obsessively. Basically there was no controlling him and he healed fine.
Interesting! Just got our little buddy desexed and the vet told us he required no collar and could resume normal activity the next day. Apparently the incision is tiny and no risk of removing stitches. When we brought him home he seemed a little dazed (I’m guessing from the anaesthetic and pain relief medication) and licked the area a couple of times very briefly and that was it. Our little man was 9-10 months when we decided to give him the snip…perhaps that plays a role too??
@@ObliviousMarkk hi im assuming you did it already but if you didnt then YES its alright to do that :> my cat is 9 months (almost 10m) and we're getting him neutered tomorrow. he'll stop spraying when he gets the operation no matter his age
@@fegicatkins9602 Some vets wont spayed or neutered a cat until 6 months old (like my vet) the anesthesia is risky as it is, never alone doing on a kitten under 6 months plus everything is a bit bigger inside their body, most cats a nearly fully grown by 6 months. I adopted a kitten from the adoption group in the city at 4 months old and she was already spay my vet said b/c she was spayed so young she still hadnt lost her baby teeth when she was supposed lose them, desexing to young also effects their hormones b/c they are still developing under 6 months old.
@@bnha Not always that only works if you neutered the cat before it gets in the habit of spraying, marking, after a cat has got into the habit of spraying and after they are desexed most of the time they go back to that habit of spraying marking their territory, plus its less common but girl cats can and do spray too, desexing a cat at 6 months old might stop the habit of spraying but there is no guarantees. My niece was telling me her kitten was spraying at 4 months old.
My kitten just got neutered last week and I stopped putting the collar on him on day 4 as his incision seems to be healing very well and no more swelling. As long as the kitten isn't licking excessively or nibble on the incision, it's okay to keep the collar off. My kitten only have the tendency to lick it after finishing his business in the litter box, and I've noticed since I took off the collar which allow him to groom himself whenever, he actually licking that area less. He also been climbing up and down the cat tree since day 3 like he never had the surgery LOL! I think for female kittens a recovery bodysuit may be less stressful for them to wear than a collar.
We took our Korat cat in to a family owned vet that use older methods in treating cats, especially. The cats get more stressed than dogs and they are much better at staying clean and less infection. So they said a collar is not needed and it helps keep their stress level down and keeps them calmer. So that is what we are doing.
interesting video. I was just watching a vet talk about neutering pros and cons. She didn't mention this stuff. I am collecting info for my website about cat's health and will add this info to it. Thanks
My kitten is very active so was hard with her, she kept jumping on the bed and floor, kept looking for food, and was aggressively trying to lick the cut area, we're new with having a pet so we're not really prepared, I don't know how to calm her down please somebody help, it's Saturday so vets don't work till Monday
I had my kitten aged 4 months, neutered last week. He came home and was himself, chasing his sister and playing and licking himself. I wish the vet had sent me home with a cone. I tried to limit his activity but he was back to normal within a day. I didn’t confine him as he was used to being with his sister and his mom. I felt another change would stress him out. I just avoided wand toys.
How is he now! I didn’t put a cone as my vet didn’t give me one and I didn’t know that I have to use one for him! Did you clean the incision! If yes how often? My cat hate me now and i barely can touch him poor baby
I had my cat spayed last week and it just went horribly wrong. She is an active one n just a day after her surgery, she went out of the house while i was looking away. My mistake no1 was not confining her. At nigh while sleeping i felt pitiful n put her cone away. That was mistake no2. In the morning she had ripped off her bandage n lick her incision clean.. but after all this her stitches were intact n look fine. But on the 3rd day her abdomen was swelling like crazy n pus started coming out n on the 4th day her stitches broke n pus was coming out like crazy. I took her back to the clinic to have a revision surgery. That was mistake no.3. The vet said they cleaned the pus n restitched the incision n told me her swelling was just a simple swelling of her mammary glands. But her condition seems to be getting worse with more swelling n more pus. On the 5th i took her for dressing n the vet asst did the dressing n tried to flush out pus which could still be remaining. She was barely able to clean anything properly bcs she was not good at it. She gave her an antibiotic shot on her hind limbs n then send us home. At home my cat was shivering and breathing rapidly n her hind limb where she was injected went limp. I was so scared that i took back to the clinic so she could atleast have a pain reliever shot. She was able to be a little normal after that. On night of the 6th day the vet came to give her an antibiotic shot but i showed him how much she was still swelling, some part becoming brownish black inside n sooo much pus coming out n he again put her under anesthesia to perform another cleaning of the pus n told me to take her to the vet hospital the next day...So the next day she had to went under anesthesia again so the vets could do the cleaning n make 2-3 stitches. They told me to come back everyday for the time being so that they can clean the pus and disinfect her wound n that they cannot close the incision for now bcs of the infection. So i had to go there everyday n restrain her down while they clean n disinfect her huge open wound. U can imagine how big the incision has become by now bcs of the 2-3 surgeries before. Its like her whole lower abdomen is just open vertically AND horizontally (bcs of the previous stitches breaking again n again n bcs of the infection which has spread further bcs it wasnt cleaned properly before). They said it look okay now n they will be able to close up the wound next week which am hoping is true cos i am soo mad at myself n at the vet who did the spaying for making the poor kitty go through all this pain. What could have been a simple surgical operation which would heal within a week went full on in the wrong direction for us. Honestly even tho she had lick her incision, i dont think its possible to go this wrong. The infection was just too bizzare like i have yet to see that much swelling and that huge amount of pus coming out from any other cats who also got an infection from licking their incision. I honestly believe that the vet who did the spaying may have not disinfect properly while closing up which hav let to this. Even if the infection was from her licking why the hell was the infection still spreading with pus coming out like crazy even just after a day after the second surgery? Conclusion is he didnt clean n disinfect it properly. Sorry for all the rambling but my gadd am soo mad!! I pray my poor baby finally recovers next week 😭🙏So anyway what i wanted to say is that i think theres alot to learn from my mistakes which i have mentioned above. The most important is choosing the vet carefully n if it went off the rails like mine did, do not just put it in the hand of the vet to do revision surgery immediately , think carefully n talk to other vets for a second opinion n if need be, change vets. Also do not waste so much time like i did. On the 2nd day my cat was swelling n started having some fever but i brush it off thinking it was something normal that happens after the surgery. Its bcs he kept telling me that the swelling was normal, despite me giving her anti inflammatory meds everyday, the swelling didnt subside, rather it was more like the infection was getting worse with pus forming n finally breaking open on the 4th day. Anyway that is all i have to say for now. Pls be careful everyone. Do pray for the recovery of my poor baby😿🙏
i am about to take my 2 year old female cat to get fix .. i wanted her to have at least one litter of kittens. she had two . I got a Cat onesie hoping it will help keep her from licking the cut
Thank you so much. Many good tips. We won’t have to move his food, water, litter since it is located in an office where he spends the night. Really appreciate your sharing. 😸😸🐈🐈
If you have a fussy cat with a cone ...try using a knee high sock cut holes for the head and arms ....or a newborn baby outfit just cut an opening for the tail and butt so they can use the bathroom
Feral cat: spay or neuter release the next morning. They will run and jump around some where with no supervision. Domestic cats: Have the cone on for 2 weeks limit activities. No jumping! Me: what about the Feral cats? Aren’t you worried they will have infection or re-open there wounds? They are cones free they are doing just fine Haha 🤷♂️.
@ I had a couple feral/domestic cats spayed. The worst anxiety ever haha. She went on the roof, climbing the highest tree and this lasted 2 weeks hahaha. I was like what is you on? Haha. This was without a cone haha.

Actually I adopted my cat one week ago and today i neutered him.. he is doing great he vomited a bit.. still under anesthesia..my vet told me to give him chicken soup and no cone for us
We just got our cat fixed earlier today, and we’re pretty in the dark about this since this is our first cat. We put the cone on him and he absolutely freaked out, so we took it off and put him in a baby onesie. He hasn’t tried to lick since we put it on, but we’re worried that he might wriggle out of it. This has been helpful but we’re still trying to look for tips, especially with getting him to go to the bathroom. He’s a stray and is just barely getting used to a litter box. If you have any general tips, they would be much appreciated!
My kitten got fixed today and since hes been home hes knocked over his water dish three or four times and refuses to settle down, he's kicked off his cone once, and i took it off of him once but he immidiately started licking his arm where they put the IV in, they told us to keep the cone on for 2 weeks but idk how its gonna go
Thanks for the tips! My first cat I got neutered actually infected his incision with the cone on cus it was too small…. So I’m a little scared to my other cat neutered now but I’m sure he will be ok.
my cat was just neutered today and he keeps on flinching when we touch him and he also keeps on trying to walk i don't know what to do now but the vet said i should let him in cage for now but I'm still worried beacuse he's being aggressive inside the cage
My parents got our cat here neutered today. His name is Coco. Tabby looking cat. The other two, which are black cats, female and male will be spayed and neutered later. There still young. Coco is a bit older. 😵💫😐

So my cats like to wrestle and we have to get both of my kittens spayed and neutered I don't know if we should get them fixed at the same time or not because what I feel like what will happen if we get them fixed at the same time is we only have one crate and with having to try to put a litter box in there it ain't going to be good like it's going to be too small probably for both of them and I don't want anything to happen with the sutures if they start wrestling so please tell me anything that I might should do and they are outside cats

My female took off her internal stictch and opened her incision because they never gave me a cone! It was not big and it was secondary but it took 2 weeks to close up with Cat Penecilin it was the most stressful experience on Christmas eve. I ran to the ER but they wouldnt see her. I texted the clinic got a response couple days later since it was the holiday to prepare for a prescription. A cat rescuer dropped off antibiotics from her Vet friend to start because it got infected. Lucky I had bought a 50 inch play pen that zips on top and on 2 side doors for my extremely active female fast growing kitten who jumping on high place even the curtain valance top all the time and used it for late at night sleepy time which she adjusted and took to it quickly too she had her own Tablet to watch her favorite RUclips chanel fo cats. Anyway please make sure you ASK the hospital or clinic for a cone! Hi! how is your cat doing now? Got my cat neutered today and your video really comforted me. Googling didn't really help haha! Just wondering if neutering my cat was a good decision. :(
Hi! Sorry for the late response. I hope your cat is doing well! Spike is doing great now-- He is a bit calmer because of the lowered testosterone, but overall, he's been healthy, happy, and still as spunky as he was as a kitten :)
Hello, new cat owner here…just got my baby neutered yesterday . I share my apartment with my sister & her 3 month kitten. I was advised to leave him alone for 5 days…would it be okay if i let him out before the 5 days?
My male cat is going in on the 23rd of June to be Neutered. I cant see him dealing with the cone well. I tried to put a collar on his and he went berserk. I mean Ape Sh@@. This causes a lot of concern for me. Wish there was something else that could do!
The shelter I adopted my cat from, didn’t even mention anything about e-collar. She got spayed in the shelter (without having to put the collar). A simple band-aid was weirdly enough for them As a first time pet owner, I had no idea the shelter personnel made a mistake. I took her to the vet because I noticed she wasn’t eating enough, And it turns out she had a severe infection due to her licking the operated area. Now my cat is on antibiotics, with her collar on…
@@katandcatschannel everything went, he is recovering its been 3 days and he seems absolutely fine. Tomorrow I just need to take a photo of the area and send it to my vets, thank you for asking 🙂
I remove both my kittens cones so that they can clean themselves and I put it back on if they try to lick the wound. I remove it twice a day and it’s easy for me to put it on them
My 6month old cat was neutered today, he returned home extremely jumpy and active (ofc trying his best to remove the cone) I'm extremely worried because he shouldnt be jumping, but he is jumping everywhere like normal. Should I put him in the bathroom where his litterbox is to limit the space he has to jump around? He's running up and down the stairs. And he's eating with a good appetite.
My female just got spayed and this is day two she’s taken the cone off three times but I’m consistent with putting it on and she’s restricted to one room for the three day period cause my male cat likes to play rough 😂. Also use pellets for litter it is better for the time frame so there is no dust getting into the stitches.
were follow-up visits to the vet difficult for Spike? having gone there for spading was he afraid when he was brought there again that a similar experience was going to happen?
Hi! We actually did a virtual follow-up by sending our vet a picture of his suture area. He hasn't been to the vet since the neuter but he's due for his check up at the end of the year- Will keep you posted! In general though because of his personality he has been pretty fearless at the vet... I'd also be curious to see if this changed since the neuter.
i just neutered my cat and got home, our vet didn't give us a cone and i didn't ask why he didn't but im quite worried now. what should i do? my cat isn't fully awaken at the moment, just lying on his carriage box
My cat had some surgery and you can literally see inside her belly, like a dark belly button. She ain't bleeding or anything, but it's quite disturbing to see. Is that normal? The vets said that it will seal up, but god damn, that hole is like 1/8 of an inch wide. They stitched the hole up, allegedly, but I don't see no stitches anywhere. Did I get scammed and will end up with a dead cat? I'm genuinely curious because the vets said it's normal, plus, the cat is acting like normal three days after. She constantly tries licking the belly hole, but we put a cone of shame around her head to stop her from doing that.
This sounds weird but on the 6th day after the procedure is it supposed to look like bruised kind of colored around that areA for a male cat? No pus or discharge i just dont know what's the normal color its supposed to be if tht makes sense.
😢😢😢 I just had my 4 month old kitten neutered yesterday and when i brought him home he took off his cone, jumped on the sofa and had sooo much energy, he seemed very anxious too, this is day 2 for me and I have him in his cage bc he has soo much energy, thank you so much for this video

I got my male cat neutered today. It went well but after 2 hours his breathing doesn't seem normak. As he's breathing through mouth and very rapidly. What should i do pls somebody reply.
Hey! Im so glad i came across this video as im about to get my cat Chucky neutered next month. I have another question and it would be a great relief if you could answer it. A couple of articles said to cover up shelves and furniture and high places where the cat likes to hang out. Most of my apartment is filled with such cupboards and he spends a lot of time there. How do i even cover up all of this? It seems nearly impossible and im super stressed so as to not cause any harm to him post surgery. Sadly my vet doesnt seem to care much about it either. She's just telling me to handle it somehow. How am i to do that exactly? Please help!
I believe the concern is the cat popping stitches out from jumping. In which case, I would recommend building small stairs or ramps, so the kitty can get up to his favorite spots. In my case, I'm planning to build stairs out of boxes and pillows (things I can find around the house). It may not be possible for every piece of furniture, but at least having a few options will hopefully be appreciated. Mine goes in tomorrow.
My cats name is ALSO Spike and he’s also a (we believe) a Russian blue. He just got neutered today and he wasn’t given back to us with a cone. Should I be worried? He’s been licking the area and I’m wondering if I should go out and buy a cone.
Hi,I have to comment about the cone issue,I had 4 male kittens and 2 female kittens years ago and we got so attached that we found it hard to adopt them out.so we had ty o have them all spayed and neutered.what I want to say is the vet never even mentioned this cone and all my cat's did perfectly fine.isnt that odd?today my cat is right now being neutered and I was asked if I want to get a cone.i was really confused, but just decided that what if he needed it because my little man is a different cat ,meaning he is fresh lol I have to pick him up around 2 pm today,I just hope he is ok.thanks

I hope he's doing okay
Was he okay afterwards? My kitten is due for his castration in 2 weeks

I'm sure your Kitty has only a faint memory of that day and still loves and cuddles and plays, just before.
Have you noticed any major changes?

@@bushrasadaf166 how did it go
@@highfvck it went well.
Thanks for the tips! Also want to say you are such a likeable person.
Aw thank you!
Best info that I found on RUclips

Thank you for the great recommendation , I’m taking my new kitten for his operation in a few weeks. This was so helpful. Thank you so much.😉🌻
Is it okay to neuter a 10 month old cat or is it to late to stop him from spraying?
@@ObliviousMarkk hi im assuming you did it already but if you didnt then YES its alright to do that :> my cat is 9 months (almost 10m) and we're getting him neutered tomorrow. he'll stop spraying when he gets the operation no matter his age
I had 3 cats spayed and neutered at 6 months and they are okay. That was a year ago. Last Saturday I had a 4 month old neutered also.
Very helpful ! Thank you for sharing
So helpful and reassuring!
Bro the vet I work at doesn’t even put a cone on the cat because it’s such a quick procedure and the skin of the testicles just heals on it’s own

My little guy Kai (3 & 1/2 months) is getting fixed in the morning. Thanks for sharing. I’m a nervous wreck 🤦🏻♀️♥️
How did it go?
Aw man. Gotta wait at least 8 months! He isnt even grown yet 😢

I texted the clinic got a response couple days later since it was the holiday to prepare for a prescription. Did your kitten have Zorbium from the vet when neutered? If so, how was it helpful?
My male cat is going in on the 23rd of June to be Neutered. I cant see him dealing with the cone well. I tried to put a collar on his and he went berserk. I mean Ape Sh@@. This causes a lot of concern for me. Wish there was something else that could do!
My vet didn’t even recommend a cone. I had to ask about it after my cat started to lick the surgery site. 😩 It’s such a big help for recovery.
Glad you got it sorted out!
The shelter I adopted my cat from, didn’t even mention anything about e-collar. She got spayed in the shelter (without having to put the collar). A simple band-aid was weirdly enough for them
As a first time pet owner, I had no idea the shelter personnel made a mistake. I took her to the vet because I noticed she wasn’t eating enough,
And it turns out she had a severe infection due to her licking the operated area.
Now my cat is on antibiotics, with her collar on…

Ps some vets use glue to keep stitches in place looks like grey or blue.
were follow-up visits to the vet difficult for Spike? having gone there for spading was he afraid when he was brought there again that a similar experience was going to happen?

@@Ray.M.12345 he's in his perfect mood! i made a cone for him myself and put it on about 3 days then let him be. he healed quickly than i expected

Call your vet or bring him in
Sorry I saw this comment a little too late! I hope Spike (such a coincidence!) is doing well now
What did you end up doing?? I have an 8 month Russian Blue who got neutered today and refuses to let me cone him😭
@ We just watched him and everytime he tried licking the area we just said "No" very loudly
@@Dani-mm1jo Thank you, he's doing fine so far 😽
Do your cat become less aggressive after how soon did you see a change
Oof got 9 days till my baby gets his nuts cut off, hope these tips help!
Do I have to wash the wound with water and cloth ???
Typically you don’t have to unless your vet instructed you otherwise!
Ok thanks.... actually he is very uncomfortable since he is unable to lick it due to come.
Guys can anyone suggest what to do that stitch she is trying her best to remove even after multiple bandage like crisscross iykyk please
Hi, want to know how many days spike get cured from the wound.
Thank you for your video.
Hi,I have to comment about the cone issue,I had 4 male kittens and 2 female kittens years ago and we got so attached that we found it hard to adopt them out.so we had ty o have them all spayed and neutered.what I want to say is the vet never even mentioned this cone and all my cat's did perfectly fine.isnt that odd?today my cat is right now being neutered and I was asked if I want to get a cone.i was really confused, but just decided that what if he needed it because my little man is a different cat ,meaning he is fresh lol I have to pick him up around 2 pm today,I just hope he is ok.thanks
my cat takes off her cone. so we got her a recovery suit. so she took it off. we got her a donut cone. and she took it off 💀 i have no idea what to do
