- A lot of you guys have been asking for the best spot or how to level up your XP and get crazy AP to master materia in final fantasy 7 remake. I'm happy to bring you a video on just how I got all my characters maxed out! This is a short one but its a guaranteed way to master those pesky blue and purple materia that we cannot live without! With this method you will master materia and hit max level in less than 1 hour! This is the fastest way to farm levels and master materia in final fantasy 7 remake

This is by far the best spot to farm AP. Pair that with 2 magic ups and magnify + fire, you can literally one shot everything and next thing you know all your materias are maxed out! Keep up the great content my dude! ;)

Difficulty does matter. Classic gives the best until you can farm hard mode. Crunch ya numbers....
My hardedge has 4 slots not 6 how did you get 6?
Shinra simulator 2 people vs flying enemies is the best. Use cloud as main and simply hold attack at the start then use triple slash. Then quit the 2nd battle and restart from beginning. 48 AP every time, you can get 96 AP per minute.
Yeah this method is godlike!
Chapter 17 - Hojos Lab - 3 Person Team vs. Team Ragbag - 144ap per minute
Depending on RNG you can get this done in less than 2 minutes.
I run the whole sim and it takes a little under 2 minutes for 188 AP on hard mode, not counting the AP Up bonus.
And if you have on first strike you can just go straight to triple slash right off the bat!

This method is absolutely ridiculous on hard mode. I expected hours but instead went from level 36 to 50 in about 35 minutes. Good stuff.

Fire + Magnify makes short work of the enemies in this area.
Burn baby burrrrn. That's the easy nukes build
Classic mode makes this run much faster.

You are correct and I'm an idiot who had MP absorb on the mind instead of Magnify like my notes say. They're both blue so I guess I'm materia racist 🤷🏾♂️

Awesome to hear man! There are plenty of ways to go about this but for me I enjoyed and used this method very often. Provided me with a lot of footage for many of my videos as well haha
Another (lazy) way to farm is to run the battle coliseum with a full party in classic mode (I can't remember what it's called now). Start the match and with high enough stats (I did tried this before level 30 and it worked fine) they will win the battle all by themselves. You can put the controller down for a couple minutes and go do something else while the game levels up for you! There is 1 enemy that is immune to physical attacks but is weak to fire, so Fire + Elemental on 1 character's weapon and it will die pretty quick. Also, you can equip accessories to be immune to the poison in the last round for added safety.

Collapsed expressway in Chapter 14 was my location. Enemies respawn everytime. Chocobo ride to go back to entrance.
That's an interest method. That music in that section is amazing but holy hell I hate that pathways level design lll

And if you want to go even faster, just equip Cloud with magnify--fire---mithrill sword and switch difficulty to easy ( no change in AP ratio). Those human enemies literally evaporate with fire magic
Burn them all(Mad king voice)
On top of that - add First Strike materia and equip Whistle Scarf accessory. Hotkey Firaga and/or Triple slash.

@@MrPeasant213i’m really late to replying to this lmao but yeah it does!! for me i loaded up chapter 17 because there’s a combat sim you can access there really quickly and grinded AP on the two person team vs high flyers battle and was getting around 400 AP per run, and if you have the right materia equipped you can easily complete a run in under a minute! it was super efficient for me
Hi Blitz, my method of AP farming was to do the Slum Outlaws challenge repeatedly in the Corneo Colloseum. You can only use 2 characters, but as all the enemies are weak to fire, you only need to equip fire+magnify (and maybe first strike). This means that you have all the other slots free to bung in the materia you want to level up. Granted the total AP per challenge is about half that of the Shinra garage, but the big saving here is time. My record is 10 seconds on the clock (though in reality it's more like 1min at maximum if you count the transition between each round + victory), but then just tap triangle to start it over again.
I think this could be a more efficient way than repeating the start of chapter 16 over and over, so would be interesting to hear your thoughts.
It definitely is faster and has its perks for sure! Both ways are overall great I just like that the garage allows you to have 3 characters with a whole list of extra materia to be leveled on top of that too. Ultimately its whichever way you want to do it because all these methods you guys have been listing in the comments are amazing =]
Depends on how many materias you want to up AP at the same time. This one is better if you need to up many materias like me. Then when the number is reduced, I will use yours. Man, even with this trick, the grind is real.
Ooo can’t wait to try this. Only need hardmode cleared and top secrets for that platinum.

Collapsed expressway
1st run u'll be fighting some trypopolis to free 1 of the 3 missing chocobos
But, after dats done, the whole area is just filled with easy monsters
u just need to focus on cloud
equip him first strike, elemental + lightning, luck up, supernatural wristguard, triple slash short cut
cloud will cut down everything with triple slash once or twice, but u cn switch quickly to barret for overcharge to top things off, and first strike + maximum fury if those smoggers are a lil stronger than usual,
Or equip cloud with whistlewind scarf + first strike so he'll hv 2 atb bars and cn pull off triple slash twice quickly
u cn repeat this section quickly by using chocobo fast travel
The other materia slots can just be filled up with whatever materia u need leveling up, you don't have to think about it since its fairly low risk enemies
Less than 3 minutes or so, u cn get up to 500+ AP ( AP materia + triple post game )
since the game is free this month and i already beat it i really needed this. really needed this for the last chadly quest i need to do
The fastest is doing the shinra mission with 2 people where you fight a wave of buggaboo's
kill them with a triple slash from Cloud, once next match starts, you can kill the 2 ez enemies, then quit and reload. costs 400 gil, and you'll get around 50 AP within 30s
I do both but I get bored with that method often haha

I like going into chapter 17 battle simulator and doing the two man team vs high flyers challenge, but only do the first round and then quit and rechallenge it. You get 48 ap every time and you can do it about 5 times in two minutes if you use first strike material and triple strike. Takes way less loading time and no real risk of dying, you will bet about 240 ap every two minutes or so.
yep this is the fastest method
Colleseum with 3 party members on easy mode is way faster. It takes a total of 40 seconds on average for all fights together and you just select rechallenge at the end ...
Funny enough, I never seen this guide before and even I figure out the best place to farm ap on materia, it's even faster if you already have the accessory from the top secret challenge, which was a big help speeding through it.

Haha yeah the grind is seperate from the difficulty which was surprising. Because you can do easy etc too. But I always just kept it normal to keep the enemies feeling stronger

I know this is old but like in FF7. Try to duplicate type in sockets.
So lets say you link Blue Link-Fire, THEN take another FIRE and link it to a diffrent blue say magnify and what will match will match up with the single cast.
A blue highlight means it's working on link.
I knew in the older version, we could link blue to yellow material (Command) I'm unsure if there is much interaction in this case.

3:07 this also gets you 10k plus in Gil (with the Gil Materia equipped) and can if you open crates get you an eather, Molotov cocktail and a mega potion, now while you can’t use items in battle in hard mode you will be chugging mp pots like no tomorrow out of combat (unless you want to do the brake box reload thing till you die of boredom)
I timed this for another tip video and even if you get unlucky with mob spawns and they spread out it takes only 4 minutes from start to start (that’s with skipping Cut scenes plus load time on a PS4 pro) it’s 29 bad guys split into 3 encounters, each of the 3 is 2 packs that pull together (sorry for the terms I’m an MMO players so my mind thinks in them terms) this is all on easy mode as there is no reason to grind this on a harder mode sadly, it would be nice if normal or hard gave you an extra ap boost but it doesn’t so just run it on easy and get it done fast, so people say that the two man team vs shinra is better but I disagree as yes it’s faster but this opinion you have 10 extra Materia slots on your third person that can also be leveling up plus you earn money and items this way while the combat sim cost you money (money you will need on hard mode for your Eather potion habit) so I think this way is better but do whatever is most fun to you after all gaming is about having fun something a lot of people forget about.
you can’t use items at all in hard. In or out of battle.
Actually, you can't use items outside o combat either. Literally, the only uses for money in hard mode are purchasing extra materia, and the arenas. Plus, the 2 vs high flyers in the combat simulators actually nets you gil if you finish it. You either get a cash prize of 2000 gil, or an allotment of consumables that can be sold for well more than the 400 gil entrance fee. Plus, 0 cutscenes to skip, and only 2 minutes to complete an entire cycle of combats. And no running around. But as you said, do whatever you eel is most fun to you.
Why use normal difficulty if exp is also increased in easy mode?

Corneo Coliseum in chapter 14 is my go to Materia level spot . Just pick the 3 on 3 challenge .then have cloud equip with Fire Materia bonded with Magnify Materia since most of the enemies are weak to fire , and then add ice Materia to both Tifa and Barret for the ones weak to ice . This can be done in 2 minutes the most

Not long! Depends on the materia of course. Blue materia was a bit longer due to the higher AP Gap. But yellow and green are usually quicker. Purple from HP Ups and magic ups take a bit of time rightfully so. Just focus on having as many as you need leveled up in your slots and go to town with Barret tifa and cloud
Blitz, best way for materia AP farming is thru Corneos Collesium (chapter 14) , just select 3 party at easy mode and you can get 165 AP every 16second playtime. faster too if you eqiup cloud with fire + magnify with first strike, 2 magic plus and atb stagger. Downside its very boring to do but it is the quickest way. Although i was able to grind while watching netflix because its just a repetitive process

I level up most of the materia but not all of them and I already started hardmode is it possible I can go back and level up some more materia and then come back to my save file on hard mode and have the Materia I just level up on there will it be carried over from there.
Yes and no. So you can switch to a chapter and keep your XP. But you have to restart the chapter and select the last one you left off on. If you reload from that save file you will reload with all of what you had when you saved. So play your chapter, save. Then reload to a new chapter and you'll keep your stuff. But you cannot reload the previous save. You have to chapter select back to that chapter..but you will have to start that entire chapter all over again.

A project that would take some time, but would be well worth it. Save before taking anything from the Airbuster, there's not a video out there showing what taking the different stuff away from it does.
Fire and multiply makes it short work. Here's the main setup, first strike, fire + multiple, stagger, 2 MP, 2 magic up. If you have it, 2 luck up. This help me make short work of that chapter. Under 2 min.
Another great spot is the Corneo Colisseum. Fight the 2-person fight with the thugs. With a basic materia (Elemental + Fire on weapons + First Strike) setup, you can do all 5 waves in about 30-45 seconds, and earn 130AP. Its tedious but you don't have to skip cut scenes and run around the first part of the stage, so the AP/Hour is a bit higher.
Yup the two person fights are definitely good too but I like the 3 person options for more materia being level at once
Better place for AP
Two-person team vs. high fliers simulator battle, do the first 3 fights and then quit, rinse repeat.
First 3 battles post game nets more than 100 AP every 15 seconds or so (battle time)
Go in with cloud and Barrett, I give them both first strike, cloud with a triple slash kills the first wave (16 bugs), second wave cloud triple strike and Barrett overcharge, then maximum fury to finish off, third wave same as second wave
First wave 48, second wave 36, third wave 54, total of 138 in about 10 seconds (lowest I've gotten is 8 seconds, 12 on the high end)

Revival materia torture.
I used the SBS match that make you use two party members with all those drone robots as the first match. Just moved faster for me. I did this one too but just when I had to run through the chapter again (I kept forgetting Tifas purple pain like a dummy)
Yup both methods are really good to use. I personally get bored when using the chapter 17 2 player vs high flyers mission haha so I usually end up running through the garage practicing combos

Slightly random but...you know what blew my mind? I just beat and completed all side quests and super bosses of final fantasy 7 in a little less than 80 hours and got to northern crater in 45 hours. I beat the remake in 50 hours and put a total of 100 hours after beating hard mode and farming. I can't believe I put more time into the Remake than the full game.

I just went to chapter 1 and started a fresh run on hard. I didn't know people were leveling and maxing materia. Probably would've made it easier. Oh well thanks for the videos.
No problem! If you want, soon as you get to a chapter beginning save the game. Chapter select to 16 and level up whatever you need. You can always return back to that chapter and it won't hurt your progress

Never thought using Revival Materia would take some long to level up
Slightly confused, or maybe i overlooked, but are you supposed to clear the level to gain and keep the AP, or do you get to a certain point during the level then quit and restart?
Is it better to do this on hard mode or is it the same ap earned also are the characters not being controlled getting the same amount of ap as the controlled character or do u need to switch to them during battle
Hey BltzZ, how's it hanging brudda? This is such an informative video especially for guys/players who'd want to start Hard mode. I am just happy with you uploading videos every other day. Just keep up the great work!! Also, what I did was max out all HP Up and MP Up Materias here. What you can do is switch out all materias that have 0 or some AP, equip the AP materia and link it with the one you want to level up. Rinse and repeat this till you maximize all your materias esp the important ones. Your thoughts? Cheers!!!

I level up materia in Corneo's Colosseum - Three-Person Team vs. Shinra Warriors.
Costs 300gil a pop. I prefer this method 'cause its much faster for me (is it?) plus I hate walking down those pesky stairs in Chapter 16.
Magnify > firaga will be your bread ang butter here, and you'll breeze your way through rounds 1-4. 5th and final round, you'll face a couple of Venomantis and a queen Grashtrike, Blizzaga them to death. I average 1minute more or less per run here @ 400-500ish AP per run. (with AP up 'quipped).
Dont forget to equip the Gil materia to compensate for your "entrance fee".

ATB assist to my knowledge there is one 1. ATB stagger you should buy from chadleys store. Happy to hear that bro I'm excited to keep bringing you guys videos!
BltzZ it seems Chadley is the guy to go to for the ATB related materia... thank god there no gils issue on hard mode.
No problem! Hit up the vending machines to buy 4 of each materia possible so you can have a build for everyone and not have to switch constantly
I disagree that the Shinra Simulator 2 people vs. Flying enemies is the fastest way because you're only using two people. IMO the best way is Three-Person Team vs. Mayor is Best because you get more slots to level up and even though you only get 30 AP per run it only takes around 8-12 seconds on average to clear it. Not to mention you can restart immediately, no waiting for give up option. And the best part is its free, some people dont have enough gil to keep restarting. Here's what I run on it:
Cloud: lightning&Magnify, Magic up, Magic up, First Strike.
Aerith: lightning&Elemental, First Strike.
Berret: lightning&Elemental.
As soon as it starts I quick spell thundaga with Cloud on left enemy then I use thundaga on right enemy with Aerith. I switch to Berret and if that doesn't finish them off I use his overcharge to finish them.
Hard mode guide for bahamut would be awesome as it is the only summon I lack but I'm curious if your secret weapons guide would be ample

Yeah go for it cuz stagger bahamut isn't worth it. It only lasts about 3 seconds. Pressured bahamut stays grounded for about 10 or 15 seconds

Alternative method, which i also did is chapter 17 shinra combat similator;
Select flying trype mission
Repeat it over and over
That one's great for bypassing wanting to walk the beginning of chapter 16 over and over again. But you miss the epic delivery of Barret screaming "I'm a ticking time bomb sooner or later imma have to blow up!" Lol

I timed it and I think the combat simulator is like 30%-40% more effective for farming AP (AP/MIN) even after you calculate the fact that the simulator can only level 20 materia at a time but the chapter 16 can level 29.

What's up dude longtime no talk! The two person vs high flyers is fast as well in ch 17. But ultimately it's only 2 people gaining AP. So you are missing out on a 3rd character to level up 9-10 materias as well. This method can be super fast and done in 3 minutes with melee build Barret just mowing everyone down

Dang, i just discovered this channel.. do you got a guide for the 9 dresses/outfits available?
No I don't unfortunately but the easiest way is to do chapter 3 all side missions. Select tifas dress you want and you must COMPLETE the entire chapter. Then when chapter 4 starts, use chapter select to chapter 8. Now for aeriths best dress you need to do 6 or more quests. Aeriths 2nd dress you need to do 3 quests. Aeriths worst dress you have to do less than 3 dresses. Complete the chapter. Then chapter 9 for cloud you get the worst cloud dress by doing no or a small amount of quests. To get blue dress(my favorite) you need to do chocobo sam's sidequest. If you want the princess dress you need to do the madam M quests. Night have to Google how to trigger their quests specifically though

Maybe you can do one on how to use warding and materia and how to make it most effective against pain in the ass spell affects that gets thrown at you. Lol. Do you have to link warding with like time or bind? I'm trying to figure that out but its kinda difficult sometimes.
I have a stagger abuse build with time. Check out the stagger pressure video I have. And THE BEST use for warding is in my instant limit break build video :D check that one out as it will blow your mind

the vr room in shinra building is like 2-3x the ap/hr you get from this spot. Even the colosseum is more ap/hr then this.
Hey man quick question the material swap/ slot screen at 1:52 time stamp , how do you make it so that you can see/ switch/swap every single character at once in your party at once like that? I CANNOT figure it out. Thanks dude!

You are correct and I'm an idiot who had MP absorb on the mind instead of Magnify like my notes say lmao. They're both blue so I guess I'm materia racist 🤷🏾♂️

Sorry for the dumb question: But you can just go back to Chapters and play them with your current set of characters? And then keep the exp and use it in your live current chapter? This is news to me!
It's actually a good question! But You are limited to the characters that are only playable for that chapter. The levels will stay as long as you save right before chapter swapping

There's 2. You get the second from completing all side quests in Ch.14 from the Angel of the Slums I believe.
Just spent a few hours here and the spot works great. Feels good to have all my Materia at max!
Yup! I had to come back to make sure I have 3 total revives maxed as well as the other HP absorb for tifas deadly dodge :)
ugh I am not looking forward to grinding out the revival’s.

So after you finish lvling up what materia as well quantities do you recommend maxing before attempting any chapter on hard mode. Especially since you have more manuscripts to unlock.
Revivalx3 Chakrax3 Prayerx2 Healingx3 Steadfast Blockx2 Parryx3 Magnifyx1 Elementalx2 HPAbsorbX2 these are just the many few that come to mind that really will help out a ton on hard mode. Go for Those and tackle the top secrets hard mode boss in VR chapter 17 so you can unlock the best accessory in the game Gotterrdammerrung

Do I have to finish the chapter to keep the maxxed materias? Do I save over the save file you get when you finish chapter 18? Idk how to keep the newly maxxed materias for when I do hard mode

Once you max a materia, it'll stay maxed. Even when you change chapters.

Always happy to give advice too because I know how it is when you start out. Download tube buddy extension for your browser and study popular videos tags for the same content you make. Look how they tag and title while using a longer description too. Also use lots of keywords in the video description that match tags and the title multiple times if possible. I also post to reddit but I make sure to get the OK from the moderators that my content is to benefit the community

Gotta know, what Materia do you have Tifa slotted with that give all those tracer effects on her movements!
Tbh it's mainly refocus materia! But you can have even more cool effects as well when you have unbridled strength to level 3 and use focused strike and cancel it with deadly dodge into a full attack! Tifa is just so awesome!

Is her build out( minus the Materia you’re leveling) the same as your advanced guide?
Yes! The only thing that is now different is I've added refocus and Gotterdammerung to Tifa! I am working on the full team build currently. Which will focus on the best possible materia setups and equipment on those characters to use as a group and how they work together in hard mode.

No it does not it can be on any character

After I beat the game I did not get double XP or triple ap. Am I doing something wrong? I unlocked chapter select but that's about it. Do I need to do Yuffie's story too?
Nah when you beat the game and afyer credits it tells u to make a save. Before u did you should of gotten a message about double xp and another about yuffie story
Appreciate the effort but there is a 3 person simulator fight that can be done for almost the same AP and completes in less than 1 minute 30 seconds.
