  • Was Paul a messenger sent from Christ or one of the false prophets Jesus warned against? In this video, I discuss some contradictions between the words of Jesus and the writings of Paul to see if they compliment or contradict one another.
Please keep in mind that all everything I say here is my subjective opinion, and is intended to deconstruct fundamentalist/evangelical/conservative Christian ideologies from an ex christian perspective

Every time that I have been in a deep discussion with a Christian, I noted that when they liked what God said, they quote him. When they do not like what God said, they quote Jesus. When they do not like what Jesus said, they quote Paul. When I point this out, the discussion is often over.

I tried to point out to a pastor how Paul was teaching opposite to Jesus and the response I got says it all…. This pastor didn’t address any of the points I made but got angry and said, quote, “How can you speak against him, he died for us”. I replied, “I’m speaking about Paul not Jesus”. He replied, “I know and you’re speaking against him”.
So that in itself says everything to me. Paul has taken the place of Jesus for this pastor and he’s not alone.
Please do more videos on Paul, the church needs to wake up. Thank you for your good works.

I have no problem with disregarding Paul and remaining a Christian. I basically consider Paul a false prophet that primes us to identify other false prophets and bad pastors. There are some heresies that not even Paul would support that many pastors or denominations do. A key example are those that deny the bodily resurrection.

1- Christ Physically Blinded Paul.. it wasn’t just a vision. Paul had physical Scales on his eyes blinding him.
2- Galatians 2:20 is talking about OUR SIN is completely forgiven through the crucitfition and only through JESUS did this happen… The Galatian Church had false teachers telling them Faith in Christ is not enough…
3- “Paul is teaching” “Paul is building Churches” .. Yes!
Mathew 23 8-10 he’s talking about the PHARISEES 😭 He’s telling them not to call the Jewish Leadership these names.
Jesus sent his Disciples City to City to teach and build his church.
4- Mathew 17:21-23 - Jesus is talking about Judgement day. When you stand infront of him and he will cast you away because Works WILL NOT ALONE get you into heaven.
5- ROMANS: 10:13 - Paul is saying you must believe in JESUS the Lord…
Yes you will be saved… But you can’t continue to love your sin or you will be cast into hell as you quoted in Mathew 17
You’re contradicting your own Theology without realizing it.
6- Romans 9 - Paul is taking about the Jews.. he is heartbroken they refuse to accept the messiah. He is saying “if yall keep messing around God he will let you live in your ways and his mercy will be gone”
This is throughout the entire Bible just like Jesus standing there with Abraham Genesis 19:24 .. Jesus called to the father in heaven to destroy the sinning city. Mercy was GONE
7- Mathew 5-7… Of course you’ll be shown mercy! Do you really think a ACTIVE SHOOTER killing people decides not to kill one person showing mercy then they are given Mercy by God? Cmon now
Everything she said is a Lie and made to confuse from what Paul and Jesus actually meant when they said it.

What has always bothered me is that Jesus gave the keys to Peter - the Rock. And yet, we have very few of Peter's words in the modern Bible, but a ton of Paul's 'teachings' who didn't even know Jesus. Even if you could call the bible evidence, it’s poor. If the bible is egregiously faulty then the main character’s existence is likely fantasy. If the existence of Yahweh is a fiction then the god man Jesus cannot stand. Faith based on the contents of the bible is worthless for the following reasons…
There is real historical evidence of John the Baptist, but not of the greater Jesus. There is historical evidence of Apollonius of Tyana, who allegedly ascended to heaven, similar to Jesus, but there is no extra biblical evidence of Jesus during his lifetime. There is an historical record of Jesus Ben Pandera but, no Jesus the Galilean outside of the bible. Nothing. There’s Jesus ben Ananias, a rude peasant, who went around Jerusalem in 66CE prophesying its fall in 70CE; he’s recorded in documents outside the bible, but not the biblical Jesus. His alleged disciples never wrote anything they were uneducated peasants. Contemporaries never recorded his miracles nor his troublesome nature. The bible account says he was widely known and a divisive figure that the Romans never recorded. Neither did the Jews.
There were a number of people with the name Jesus, exhibiting Jesus behaviours, many have been recorded; but, not the Jesus of the bible. Was he a fiction? Indeed, you don’t require any actual person to have actually existed for a “reality” to grow from nothing. King Arthur and Robin Hood, along with William Tell, and others, come to mind. Was the biblical Jesus based on a composite of these other Jesus’s with reference to the Old Testament, plagiarised to elevate these people to one divine god.
There’s no evidence that all the first born were killed either in Egypt nor by Herod. I think the Egyptians would have recorded such a calamity and the calamities of the plagues, but nothing. Was it all made up?
The first line of the bible is clearly incorrect. The Earth was formed 9.8 billion years after the heavens. How did the creator get that wrong? And, the rest of the creation is wrong. It’s as if an ancient ignorant tribe wrote it all by themselves, no god to help.
There are no waters above the firmament, for a start. Heaven isn’t up there either, we’ve been there. The tribes of the Middle East wouldn’t have known oceans would be frozen but for the heat of the sun. Yet water filled the oceans and outer space, all with no sun. The light that made up the day was created before the sun. The ancients had no concept it was the sun that caused day and night. The moon isn’t a light. It’s fiction by an ignorant tribe with no access to a god creator.
Adam was made from dirt by magic and he, this god, forgot about Eve, an afterthought. so not an all knowing and wise god then?
Snakes and donkeys talk, nonsense fiction, right up there with Harry Potter, though JK Rowling was clearly a better writer with fewer continuity errors.
This god set up Eve by placing this magic apple within her reach. Then punished humanity thereafter. What a vicious god, if not a fictional one.
Nonsense fiction, by an ignorant ancient people writing about their mythology, their nation’s origins, steeped in the mists of the past, just the same as the Greek, Persian and Babylonian cultures write about their make believe gods who were equally fervently worshipped. Inanna, the dying and rising goddess was such an example. But many more dying and rising gods in the lexicon of ancient myths. Virgin births were pretty common too.
Adam and Eve’s children (as Eve was a clone of Adam) and grandchildren (as Cain, Able and Seth only had Eve to produce offspring or with their unknown sisters) could only have been produced by incest, then double incest, according to the biblical account. Clearly god didn’t know that the inbreeding of the biblical account would lead to genetic problems. None of it true, nothing a creator god would have penned. It was a fiction by a Jewish ancient people.
The Exodus apparently didn’t happen according to all evidence, acknowledged by the Jewish archaeologists who have tried to find it. The Egyptians never wrote of their army being swallowed by the sea. Mosses may never existed.
There is a massive amount of genocide in the bible by a god who failed to get the locals to behave. Genocide because the Israelites needed a land to make home. If a creator of the universe and humans could have just thought a new land, a new island, south of Cyprus, it would have appeared. Easy for a god, not so for an ancient tribe to pull off? Then, this god could have told these others how to behave and punished individuals, if that’s what was needed. But no, he went straight to mass murder. What?
And, the greatest god in the universe was defeated by iron chariots: Judges1:19. That is so ridiculous, such a puny god. Or, is it because the story was a creation of a tribe that had no concept of future technologies or tactics to defeat these new Iron Age chariots? I’m sure that a human Napoleon type tactician could have done better than the all wise, all powerful fictitious god of the universe.
Genesis 19 tells us of Lot being raped by this daughters. And yet this god is moral? He could have changed the course of their predicament, found him a younger wife or servant to sleep with, if a god. More incest.
The Jewish religion was at its heart, a blood sacrifice barbaric religion.
The books that were supposedly written by Mosses consist of a linguistic style that didn’t exist at the time of his “life”. It’s a fictitious narrative, written by the Jews to give their new nation an historical legitimacy, and unify them, in the midst of other powerful cultures in the Middle East. Didn’t help much though, they were constantly being invaded and subjugated by more powerful “gods” of other warring nations.
Even Yahweh acknowledged there were other gods. Remember the Ten Commandments tablets that were conveniently broken and then without fuss, lost. An all powerful creator of the universe who missed the opportunity to create the tablets out of an advanced technology, such as, I don’t know, Titanium? Is that because the Jews didn’t know about such a thing and so had no understanding of the future? The forging of such a technology would have cemented the truth of their god. Broken disappeared stone tablets: clearly, no god involved. Convenient.
Noah and his flood occurred when the Egyptians where going about their cultural and religious practices that continued afterwards; and, their religion was not replaced by the flood family’s immediate ancestors, fanning out from the ark. The Pharaohs and their gods continued unabated. No Yahweh? More incest?
The Chinese culture and writing developed along a continuum and they too were never taken the religion of Yahweh from the Middle East, by Noah’s relatives.
And, the ancient Britons and Australians failed to notice they were meant to be dead.
The New Testament, if it is read, critically, is inconsistent and evolves over time.
Indeed, the gospels were not written for decades after the death of this Jesus, whose birth and death are still questionable and no date can be asserted with clarity.
There was no census when Herod was alive, that story was made up after the event to allow the Nazarene to be born in the town of David. Nazareth was not a town in the first century and was only “discovered“ when Constantine’s mother, Helena, went looking for it. The gospel writers mistook the word Nazarene for a town. And there are many problems with the census and the way it is told. Because it was written as fact over one hundred years after the supposed birth of this Jesus. More fiction?
And, boulders weren’t placed in front of tombs until about 50 years after his death, was he a fiction based on one of many rabbis around at the time?
And, the crucified were left to rot on the cross/pole on which they were hung as a warning to insurrectionists? No empty tomb, it’s a fiction to turn a myth into a “fact”. To turn a dead man or a fictional man into god.
Pilate was, in real history, recorded history, a truly nasty contemptuous man, he would never have allowed the process of crucifixion as a warning to have been undermined. And, the alleged trial is a tale of the blood cult of scapegoating. Even Barabbus was a literary device representing scapegoating, suggesting it never occurred. Barabbus means, son of the teacher, or son of the father. The gospel writers where representing the two characters as essentially the same, one became the goat sacrifice. And, the twist was that the Jews shouted to let the murderer go, allowing the blame for Jesus’s death to be placed on the Jews and not the imperial Romans. It was very much a political narrative because the Jews and Romans where essentially at war, the destruction of the Temple in 70AD/CE, and this new sect/cult needed to distinguish themselves from the Jewish troublemakers, and the ongoing violence of the time.
Paul never knew Jesus and only depicted him as a spiritual vision. He knew nothing of the man and nothing of his life or his teachings. More evidence that the Chrestos (anointed) was mythical?
The first time the gospels were mentioned was in 180AD/CE by Irenaeus. Indeed, a very prominent Christian, Theophilus, said that he came to believe in Jesus from reading the Jewish Scriptures or, Torah. No mention of the gospels, no quoting of anything Jesus allegedly said. Best date for the gospels is circa, 170-182AD/CE. The myth of the god man Jesus was created over many years. But, Mark was first written, not until at least 70AD/CE, say Christian scholars but, as above, likely much later.
No record of the star of Bethlehem, of the graves emptying, or the sky darkening. It’s fiction.
Theists may need to believe in this lie. Still, it’s a lie.
Theists have the bible read to them. Atheists read the bible themselves.

    Some important things to note:
I mistakenly attributed "faith without works is dead" to paul, but that was actually James! A kind follower in the comments pointed this out. So I wanted to correct that.
Also! many scholars believe 1&2 Timothy were not written by Paul, though *many* churches do believe Paul authored them. I side with the scholarly consensus that it was written by someone else- however many churches would agree that whoever wrote it was writing within the tradition of Paul's teachings. Either way, I'm attempting to work within the hypothetical notion that the gospels are accurate portrayals of the words of Jesus and that the letters attributed to Paul by the church were, in fact, written by Paul. I felt I made my approach clear in the beginning but perhaps I could have better clarified as many in the comments seem confused about my approach.
In my next video on Paul, I'll step outside of the hypothetical approach and examine him through a historical lens. And I'll be sure to better clarify when I'm approaching these topics within the hypothetical framework of church teachings.

Like, he was out persecuting Christians, and he found some that were enjoying financial and social benefits and decided he wanted a piece of the action, and he knew that an emotional conversion story would be compelling. It would explain why he seemed more interested in molding the church to the needs of patriarchy rather than the actual teachings of Jesus.

Thank you for sharing, let's clarify.....Several places in the Bible speak of being crucified with Christ or having died with Christ: for example, Colossians 2:20; 3:3; and 2 Timothy 2:11. An extended discussion on the subject is found in Romans 6:3-14. Since no believer was literally crucified with Christ, the phrase crucified with Christ is symbolic for a spiritual truth. When you reject the Holy Spirit it's hard for you to understand what God is trying to reveal to you when you're reading scripture. With one exception, these so-called "contradictions" and also the accusations against Paul could be easily refuted by any 1st year seminary student using basic bible references.

1st, Paul's testimony about his encounter with Christ on the road to Damascus had eyewitnesses which remained available to corroborate the story ie, those who accompanied him on the road and also Ananias who Christ sent to heal his blindness and give him further instructions. I'll also point out that when Ananias expressed reservations about going to Paul, Christ used the Greek word "ekloge" about Paul's selection, which means "divinely chosen" - and it's the only time the word appears in the New Testament. Paul's ministry and writings indeed have all the earmarks of God's hand - they're so comprehensive that nothing but his epistles are needed to know and understand everything else within the bible. Even the gospels merely testify about the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Christ but Paul answers the 'so what' question, instructs believers about every aspect of living the Christian life, and he was also used as the fulcrum to make the transition away from the old covenant's symbolic rituals to the new testament covenant of grace and faith in Christ alone. Further, Peter also bears witness to Paul's authenticity by equating his writings with the rest of the bible in 2Pet3:16 - "There are some things in Paul's epistles that are difficult to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist and misconstrue to their own utter destruction, just as they do with the rest of the Scriptures."
2nd, the claim that "Jesus never prophesied there would be a Paul or someone like him come on the scene." is also untrue. Actually, He did in Mt23:34 - "... take notice: I am sending you prophets and wise men, some of them you will kill, even crucify, and some you will flog in your synagogues and pursue and persecute from town to town..." - which is exactly how they treated Paul.
3rd, Christ was using hyperbole when He said following Him requires hating your own family - He was merely emphasizing that it requires a deep commitment. She'll probably also accuse Him in a later video of advocating self-mutilation for saying "If your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out..." These are shallow, baseless criticisms that barely merit a response.
4th, when Christ says not to refer to anyone as rabbi (teacher), He was simply addressing the undue status at the time which was placed on the designation thru the pride and arrogance of the Scribes and Pharisees. Jesus always emphasized servant leadership among His disciples as in Mt20:25 "... the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men hold them in subjection Not so shall it be among you; but whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant...," There's nothing wrong with being a teacher or referring to someone as a teacher (the office of Teacher is even listed in Eph4:11 as a Gift of the Spirit), the issue is having a biblical attitude towards teaching others as opposed to a wordly, Pharisaical view.
5th, Paul saying in Rom10:13 "Everyone who calls on the Name of the Lord will be saved" doesn't contradict what Christ says in Mt7:21-23 that "not everyone who says "Lord, Lord will enter the Kingdom of God" Christ is simply pointing out that not all professions of faith are genuine - which Paul agrees with in several places such as Gal2:4 "....because of false brethren who had been secretly smuggled in..." and 1Jn2:19 says "They went out from our number, but they did not belong to us..." and James2:20 that "faith without works is dead." Christ, Paul, James and John all emphasize that genuine professioms of faith will be accompanied by doing God's will, not merely a superficial confession. BTW, the "elect" isn't referring to the Jews, it's a term used about all those who have made a profession of faith in Christ (Jews or Gentiles) which has been tested and proven to be genuine (see 1Pet1:6-7 about faith tested by fire).
6th, in Gal2:20 Paul isn't "equating himself with Christ" by saying it's no longer he who lives but Christ lives in him. He's simply expressing his complete surrender to God and referencing the spiritual mystery he speaks of in Col1:25-27 - "I became a minister in accordance with the divine stewardship which was entrusted to me... The mystery of which was hidden for ages and generations but is now revealed to His holy people, to whom God was pleased to make known how great for the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ WITHIN and among you, the Hope of glory." Through their faith and surrender to Him, Christ actually dwells within all true believers.
Lastly, Paul actually had a very high regard for women and as I'll explain below, any misunderstanding about this fact is based on a glaring translation error. First, his high regard is expressed in Gal3:28 where he says "There is now neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is NOT MALE AND FEMALE FOR YOU ARE ALL ONE IN CHRIST Paul taught that Christ's sacrifice leveled the playing field across cultural, socio-economic, and gender distinctions. Further, in Rom16:1 Paul commends Phoebe, a deaconess, and exhorts the church in Rome to accept and support her ministry there. He also expresses a high regard in Rom16:7 for Junia, a female apostle who was thrown into prison along with him. Second, the two verses quoted from Paul to justify subjugating and silencing women in the church (1Tim2:11-15 and 1Cor14:33-35) both have flagrant translation errors involving the Greek word 'gune' (pronounced goo-nay) which can mean 1)a woman of any age, 2)a virgin, 3)a widow, 4)a married woman (a wife), or 5)a betrothed woman. The same Greek word is translated "woman" 129 times and "wife" 92 times in the bible and the context of the verse determines the meaning. The context of the 1Tim2 and 1Cor14 verses indicates that "wives" not "women" are being referred to. For instance, vs35 in 1Cor14 says "they should ask their own husbands at home.." and 1Tim1:13 says "For Adam was first formed, then Eve; and it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman (his wife) who was deceived and fell into transgression." The context is clearly speaking about marriage and wives are being referred to, not women in general - the biblical "head" of a wife is her husband but the Head of a single woman is Christ alone. Paul's exhortation simply warns that despite their liberty in Christ, wives should be careful not to take authority over their own husbands or speak out from under their authority in the church, NOT that no woman should ever be placed in authority or must remain silent and submissive to all other men in the church - that's a perverted rendering which contradicts Paul's other epistles and the rest of the bible as well. For instance, it's inconsistent with what Paul stated earlier in 1Cor, that women should pray or prophesy with a head covering (ch11 vs 5) which is inconsistent if he actually said in ch14 that they must always remain silent. In short, the only limitation Paul placed on women is regarding wives - that they not teach or take authority over their own husbands or speak out from under their authority in the church - they're otherwise free to engage in any leadership or ministry role that men can assume,
    -
Epilogue: No one should follow this woman to a 7-11 store, much less risk their eternal destiny on her claims about the bible - she's biased,, biblically illiterate, and willfully blind.

You are forgetting that a man of God, Ananias, was visited by the Lord and instructed to go to Paul and restore his sight for he would become a vessel of the Lord. (Acts 9) There were witnesses on the road with Paul, skeptics, that reported seeing the light that blinded Paul. You stated if it were possible the very elect would be deceived, meaning not possible and all the disciples accepted Paul and his and their teachings match . I am almost 70 years old and have worn out many Bibles, not in church, just me, my Bible and the Holy Spirit to guide. I have read the earliest translations, including the Geneva and Gutenberg and have researched the authenticity of his writings. The truth doesn't changed based on our ability to stomach it. Believe it all or none of it. Revelation 22:18For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. Beware lest you yourself are judged a false teacher.

It doesn’t matter how old you are, nor how many bibles you have worn out. It seems like you might be the one who cannot stomach the truth, since there are clearly identified conflicts between Jesus and Paul - hate to break it to you. Revelation was likely written by John the Elder, whom no one should take seriously.

The Bible is true after all and unfortunately, you’re gonna go to hell for not being a true seeker! “We all can’t be wrong “ Yes, according to the Prophetic timeline, you’re all wrong.!!!
You cannot out psychologize the Bible for God not to throw you into hell for all eternity. In other words, you cannot come up with a good enough excuse here and now, so you will not be able to on judgment day. If you say you did not want to be born, God is going to say you should’ve been born again, that means become a Christian so that’s not gonna work. And there are no other excuses try to think of one. So now you know for the first time in your life, that the Bible is smarter than you and it is a steel trap, smarter than all of mankind, What should you do then? So at least investigate and look to see that these things are true, because right now you just learned the Bible is smarter than you, and you will be accountable for your life on judgment day before God!
Prophecy, the Bible is 27% prophecy, that’s future history written in advance. God‘s really sticking his neck out to get it cut off if he’s wrong, but he hasn’t been wrong about the thousands of prophecies that were fulfilled, so he’ll be right about the end of the world prophecies as well and you’ll have no excuse on judgment day for not looking for truth!
Caveat: you cannot look for God in times of chaos says Isaiah 45:19, so you better do it now. In other words,You’ll be too worried about your own survival when chaos hits, than your eternal destiny!
Statistic probability of 40 writers writing the Bible with zero margin of deviation, proves God wrote the Bible through the 40 writers!
      God authored the Bible!
DNA does not auto encrypt, the code writer is outside of the code of the 3300000,000,000 lines of computer code in the human genome of our DNA! So who wrote the code to such sophistication?
1,000,000 seconds is 12 days, 1,000,000,000 seconds is 32 years! That’s the difference between 1 million and 1 billion!
One person’s DNA could fill the Grand Canyon up to 50 times full of books. John 21:25 “I suppose everything Jesus did, the world wouldn’t have enough room for the books telling of it.“ this verse would be fulfilled!
Psalm 139:16 “in my members you have written many books“!

“Jesus vs Paul” by Robert Breaker. I challenge anyone who believes the lie that Paul was a “false apostle” to watch that video, study Dispensationalism, study and learn how the Bible is structured and you’ll find there are NO CONTRADICTIONS between Jesus & Paul when the whole of scripture is correctly interpreted and applied.
This deception has been around for 2,000 years and it comes from a lack of knowledge & understanding.
I was once very disturbed by what I thought were contradictions between Jesus & Paul, because if you just compare one verse with one verse, then yes it appears to contradict. Then I fasted and prayed for God to show me the truth and he lead me to a series of videos where I learned about Dispensationalism, and now that I understand dispensational theology, it all makes sense. It really opens up the whole Bible and makes things so simple and beautiful. It brings peace.
Study the book of Acts, study dispensationalism, study church history, study these things and ask the Heavenly Father to show you the truth, humble yourself, ask Him to forgive all of your sin, and ask Him to show you the truth of this matter, and He will, because He loves you.

I am an agnostic. Christianity, to me, is surprisingly consistent and intelectual, though. It's not like hinduism or tribal cults. Especially the Thomism.
You underestimate the symbolic language. What you are telling about Paul's own words about "Christ in him" is just literallistic way of thinking. Which is wrong since he was a Jew and Judaism loves symbols and philosophy. Christians understand him pretty well, actually. Jesus' words about hating one's family are what is called overstatement. You really should read about Jewish culture.
Jesus told his disciples, that the word will spread "both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth". It was clear, that all human beings, no matter which religion they believe, are subjects to preaching.
Jesus told Simon Peter: “Feed my lambs”. He established him as a teacher, an authority. This does not contradict being humble.
"Everyone who calls..." - come on. If someone's heart is not pure, then it's hard to expect God to help such a person. Pure logic. No theology involved. There is no contradiction at all! I guess, we all should create long lectures every time we speak or write, to be fully understood 🤣
"I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me trustworthy, appointing me to his service. Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief" 1 Timothy 1:12-13. Paul does not contradict Jesus or himself on that topic. It's a matter of emphasis. It's simple and it's plain.
My comment might be much longer, but I'll leave it here. The rest of the video also lacks strong arguments. The objections are pretty much same as above.
Apparently we all contradict ourselves, if we stick to this type of thinking. I could take words of any person out of context and the consequences would be very similar.
Sorry for my English. It sure isn't the best, because it's not my first language 😉

With due respect, I honestly think Paul explained Jesus' mission more than anyone did in the Bible, It surely took inspiration from God for Paul to understand and explain abstract concepts like Salvation by faith - something he himself did not previously believe in. Through his writings, we can easily link the new and old testament and better make sense and meaning out of why God did what he did in the old testament and why Jesus did whatever he did in the new testament.
Jesus arguably spent most of His time on earth teaching and ministering to those in need, ultimately died for our sins at the climax of His mission ... But He didn't take so much trouble to explain His mission in-depth, after all, they wouldn't understand it. In contexts like Matthew 19:27-29, Matthew 20:20-24, it appears to me like even the disciples never understood Jesus' mission while he was still with them, they had a different kingdom in mind ! - History has it that even after His death, they thought he was coming "very" soon to defeat the Romans (who had colonized Judea at the time) and establish His kingdom right in that area & make Israel strong again as it was in the days of king david.
Just as God works - by making us coworkers with Him in mission, basing on the talents He has given us, Paul - a well educated man was chosen by God for his gift of intellectualism, to be the one to decipher and explain some of these concepts to the rest, and even then He didn't solely rely on his knowledge, He was taught by God in the days after his "road to Damascus experience"

In Acts 1,after Jesus had ressurected, he commanded the apostles to go into ALL the world and preach the gospel. So Jesus was saying to apostles that his truth was for everyone. Peter and John and Andrew were already preaching to the unsaved Gentiles. In acts, it says that Phillip witnessed to an Ethiopian. So if Paul was wrong, you have to find another reason.

When Paul was stopped while on his way to persecute the people of the way in Damascus he became a member of the way after that you were talking so fast that you missed out completely that a great friendship got started between Jesus and the apostle Paul there was no room for this unfortunate situation your trying to bring in. From when Paul started to learn about the Way, he had to learn about this New way that Jesus WAS a part of and Jesus will not allow this New friendship to go the way you're trying to make it look Jesus and Paul saw a beautiful friendship started in any case a good cooperation was needed for Paul to be an apostle to the nation
Also at Matt 23:9-10 Jesus a perfect righteous man is setting up principles that this early Christian congregation needs was warning these new or inexperienced disciples about things they should avoid like people referring to them as father because one father is in the heavens already God Jehovah neither be called leader because I Jesus am your leader only one leader is needed also the greatest among you must be your minister. Minister IN THIS sense means one taking the lead in helping other not Lording IT over others. I'm using the New World Translation of the Holy SCRIPTURE it explains words so that you get the true meaning of what God intended for us to read especially ther at Matt 23. Jesus WAS helping them to separate themselves from the PEOPLE OUTSIDE THE WAY who want to be called rabbi and leaders and father. You will not be like them. This is New, remember Paul will be eating meat that God have cleanse. ACTS 10:13-- Paul will be an apostle to the nation that's why he was stopped while on his way to persecute those of the way in Damascus, he became a member of the way and a very supportive disciples throughout his career as a apostle to the nation. Peter also performed miracles. Was he also a false prophet? No. Probably because he was part of the 12 apostles.
Why do you think Paul was a false prophet? Possibly because he wasn’t part of the 12.
Did Jesus appear to other people after his death? Answer is yes.
      [ John 20:19, 20:26-31, Matt 28:9-10, 28:16-20, Luke 24:13-32, 24:36-43, Acts 1:3-8, Luke 22:44-49 ]
Is it possible he appeared to Paul. Answer is yes [ Acts 9 esp v5, Gal 1:11-17* ]
About the deception Jesus said Many will come in my name claiming "I am the Messiah”
Did Paul claim he is the messiah? No. The DECEPTION was in people CLAIMING they are the “Messiah”.
Do not add any sentiments to this.
If Jesus will watch a LIAR/IMPOSTER write more books and teach Jesus to many than any of the 12, it is up to Him.
JESUS NEVER SAID PEOPLE WILL CLAIM TO SPEAK FOR ME min 3.00. If Jesus doesn’t want people to talk on HIS BEHALF, he shouldn’t have sent the disciples into all nations(Matt 28:18-20). He should do that HIMSELF. By that logic, dont teach anyone about Christ.
He said people will claim I AM THE MESSIAH. Paul never claimed that. He always made sure to exalt the Christ.
If Paul cast out demons and performed miracles, didn’t Jesus give believers that power. If means Jesus must be the Master Deceiver. Paul’s mission was not about casting out devils, or making miracles, His mission was to preach Christ to the Gentiles even though he did those things Jesus told the disciples to do such as healing the sick and performing miracles.
According to your knowledge about the elect being only Jews. The Church is a called out group, also meaning elect. Jesus after his resurrection told them to teach all nations(Matt 28:18-20). What you are saying is so wrong.
The tangent you are leaning on is so slippery. It also gives credence to the fact that the new testament (apart from the life and deeds of Jesus in the 4 gospels) should be discredited.
You read Matthew 23:8-10 without context. Read from 1-10 and come again.
Jesus was against the Pharisees doing things to be seen of men and their love for Greetings in the streets as Teachers.
      In the book of 1Timothy, (read from chapter 2 v 1 - 6)
Paul writes a letter to Timothy, telling him of God’s purpose for his(Paul’s) ministry.
*** Do you see a man who is calling himself the “Messiah" or one who is acknowledging the Father and His Son from v1 - 6???
If Jesus didn’t want people to teach others after his resurrection, he wouldn’t have ordered them to make disciples of all Nations.(Matt 28:18-20)
RUclips is easy to start, teaching truth is not, it requires revelation from God. The bible is an easy book to read. It is not plain to understand, especially the things about the Kingdom. It requires the Grace of God to understand. Many times after Jesus’ teaching, the disciples came to ask of the meaning of what he taught(Luke 8 esp 9-11, Mark 4 esp v10, Matt 13:3-12). Even Peter acknowledged that what Paul taught was hard to understand. 2 Peter 3:15-16.
Did the early Church deem Paul as a false teacher/prophet? No. If he was a false prophet then even those who followed Jesus have been deceived because they believed his experience, revelation and writings about the Christ. Gal1:18-24
When Paul talked of dying to himself, it didn’t mean he was no longer called Paul or he was no longer a human. He meant his will has been superimposed by the Lord’s will for him. He therefore had no desire to follow through on his will because the will of God became paramount to him. He was one who counted all things as dung for the excellency of the knowledge of God.
I could not even get past minute 8.35 of your video
May God help us to understand Him more each day.

If you read Chapter 21 of the Book of Acts, James confronts Paul about the deviant message he has been preaching while out in the field, and orders Paul to do a one week purification ritual to prove his loyalty to the Jewish teachings of Jesus and to the Law. Here’s a comprehensive list of commonly discussed perceived contradictions between Paul’s teachings and those of Jesus, along with explanations addressing these issues:
    1. **Justification by Faith vs. Works**:
    - **Jesus**: Emphasized the importance of following commandments and doing good works (Matthew 19:17, Matthew 25:31-46).
    - **Paul**: Emphasized justification by faith apart from works of the Law (Romans 3:28, Galatians 2:16). **Response**: Paul does not dismiss the importance of good works but argues that they are a result of faith and not the means of justification (Ephesians 2:10). Both Jesus and Paul agree that genuine faith will produce good works.
    2. **Role of the Law**:
    - **Jesus**: Affirmed the ongoing relevance of the Law and its fulfillment (Matthew 5:17-18).
    - **Paul**: Argued that Christians are not under the Law but under grace (Romans 6:14, Galatians 3:24-25). **Response**: Paul’s teaching suggests that while the Law’s ceremonial aspects are fulfilled in Christ, the moral principles of the Law are upheld by living in the Spirit (Romans 13:10).
    3. **Eschatology (End Times)**:
    - **Jesus**: Predicted events and signs of the end times, expecting the Kingdom to come within the generation of His listeners (Matthew 24:34).
    - **Paul**: Expected Christ’s return soon but acknowledged it could be delayed (1 Thessalonians 4:15). **Response**: Jesus’ predictions were often interpreted in both immediate and future terms, and Paul’s expectations were part of the early Church’s hope for Christ’s imminent return.
    4. **Divorce**:
    - **Jesus**: Permitted divorce only in cases of marital unfaithfulness (Matthew 19:9).
    - **Paul**: Allowed for separation in certain cases, particularly for believers married to non-believers (1 Corinthians 7:15). **Response**: Paul’s guidance can be seen as addressing specific issues within the Corinthian church, with the broader principle of maintaining marriage and reconciliation where possible.
    5. **Paul’s Apostolic Authority**:
    - **Jesus**: Appointed the twelve apostles personally (Luke 6:13).
    - **Paul**: Claimed apostolic authority through a direct revelation from Jesus (Galatians 1:1). **Response**: The early Church accepted Paul’s authority, seeing his apostleship as divinely appointed and validated by his ministry (Galatians 2:7-9).
    6. **Teachings on Women**:
    - **Jesus**: Treated women with respect and included them in His ministry (Luke 8:1-3, John 4:7-30).
    - **Paul**: Wrote instructions on women’s roles in the church, which some interpret as restrictive (1 Corinthians 14:34-35, 1 Timothy 2:12). **Response**: Paul also acknowledged women leaders in the early church (Romans 16:1, Acts 18:26), suggesting his instructions were context-specific rather than absolute restrictions.
    7. **Salvation and Transformation**:
    - **Jesus**: Taught the need for repentance and transformation (John 3:3, Luke 24:47).
    - **Paul**: Emphasized faith in Jesus for salvation (Romans 3:28, Ephesians 2:8-9). **Response**: Paul’s teachings on faith are complementary to Jesus’ teachings on repentance. Faith in Christ leads to repentance and transformation, aligning with Jesus’ message.
    8. **Jesus’ Teaching on Riches**:
    - **Jesus**: Warned about the dangers of wealth and its potential to hinder spiritual growth (Matthew 19:24).
    - **Paul**: Taught that the love of money is the root of all evil (1 Timothy 6:10). **Response**: Both teachings caution against the love of money and emphasize the importance of using wealth responsibly, aligning with broader biblical principles.
These explanations aim to show that, despite differences in emphasis or application, the teachings of Paul and Jesus can be seen as complementary parts of a unified Christian message.

@@douglascutler1037 You've probably never heard this explanation, but check this out, cuz it's weird and kinda fun.
We might not talk about the Midianites much, but we do talk about the flood a lot, were EVERYBODY was killed, and only 8 people survived, not because they were good or bad necessarily, but because they had fully human DNA. Ever heard of the Nephilim? you know, the offspring of the Fallen Angels having sex with women? The Bible says there were Giants before and after the flood. That's because these races of giants were having sex with women, corrupting the pure human DNA of Adam and Eve. So God sent the flood to save Humanity's DNA thru Noah's family.
But the Fallen Angels and Nephilim where only males, and needed normal human women to reproduce, and their offspring were only males too. So, if you are tracking and do a bit of history research about the origins of the Midianites, the land they occupied, the children's sacrifices they practiced and the gods they worshipped, they fit the description of a tribe controlled and ruled by Giants, and perfectly explains why God killed the little Nephilim children and every woman that was old enough to have had sex with the giants and could've been pregnant. Notice how little girls were not killed cuz they could not have been pregnant of more giants, and females could not be nephilim. So there, that's the logical explanation from the Bible you probably won't believe, but now you know a possible reason.
Funny how the government is now saying they have in their possession alien ships, that ufos are real, archeologist are finding incredible megalithic structures and pyramids all over the world, all civilizations have a flood history and artwork representing giants and demigods, skeletons of giants have been found everywhere, from the USA to China and Peru, but nah, it's all a conspiracy and the Bible just is a fairy tale....

Without a perfection of fact and morality the entire literal Bible concept tumbles down like a house of cards.

I like the one where he promotes celibacy because he even says, "This doesn't come from God or Christ, but I believe..." - admitting that he is in conflict with the Divine, but he's going to go ahead anyway.
There are so many times when the newly-formed churches write to Paul and ask questions where it seems like he's just puling stuff out of his... robes. He's clearly doing damage control and playing to the gallery, rather than having real answers. But the one that really tipped the balance for me was when he's describing the other Apostles, saying 'They are the best! There's no one better than them - but I am also no less than them'. That ego flex says it all - Paul is a fraud.
Bottom line: Paul was not the Messiah, Jesus was. Even if they had the best of intentions, Paul and anyone else are just writing op-ed pieces and fan-fic... :)

But my beloved I would recommend you to read the first four chapters of 1 Corinthians as in that letter Paul addresses the problem of being divided into factions by different disciples' teachings. The discrepancy between the accounts of Jesus in Paul's writings and the Gospel of Mark can be attributed to Mark drawing inspiration from Paul's teachings and then modifying the narrative to create a distinct story. This adaptation resulted in differences between the two accounts.
By replacing Paul and his companions with Jesus and the twelve apostles in Paul's writings, the story becomes consistent and logical. This swap highlights that Paul's life and teachings serve as the foundation for the New Testament narrative, which was later attributed to Jesus.
Consider the significance of Paul's epistles predating the gospels. This chronological fact invites us to ponder the possibility that Paul's writings influenced the later development of the New Testament narratives.

While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, saying, “What do you think about the Messiah?” Whose son is he? They said to him: “Son of David.” He said to them: “How then does David in the spirit call him Lord? Saying: The Lord said to my Lord: Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool. If David calls him Lord, how is he his son? But no one could answer him with a word. And from that day no one dared to ask him at all.” (Matthew 22:41-46) ..........

I would love to see a deep dive into Paul! After my first reread of the Bible after I started questioning my faith, I started to wonder if he was one of the first to co-opt the story of Jesus to make his own cult.
And Paul was the reason I stopped going to church. Maybe I just had the misfortune of going to too many Pauline churches, but when 2/3rds (or more, it definitely felt like more) of the preaching was on the words Paul over the teachings of Jesus, the more cult like and the less divinely inspired it felt.

If anything, Paul's ministry and teaching made things worse for Christians under the empire. Consider his repudiation of circumcision in Galatians. Had he supported the Judaizers or even remained neutral on circumcision, he would have given Christians a chance to associate more directly with Judaism and therefore receive some of the social and political protections afforded to Jewish believers. Instead, he drives a wedge between the gospel and the law, increasing political vulnerability and forcing the young church to accept a deeply multicultural form.

Most of the supposed contradictions in the Bible (between Jesus and Paul, Jesus and Jesus, Paul and Paul, the New Testament and the Old Testament, etc.) are easily resolved by reading the verses in context. The rest can be resolved by determining from the context and genre whether the language is literal or figurative. (People critical of the Bible tend to read it as overly-literal as possible and ignore figures of speech and poetic language.) One of my favorite apparent (in appearance only) contradictions is Proverbs 26:4-5: "Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you be like him yourself. Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes." Someone hunting for contradictions will say, "see, the author can't make up his mind and is contradicting himself!" The biblical authors weren't stupid - that much is obvious if you take the time to see the wisdom and discernment written there. Perhaps there are two seemingly opposing ideas that need to be held in tension to get to the core truth (a common technique used in Hebrew poetry). Maybe there is a deeper concept here, that it takes wisdom when dealing with some people, the street smarts of when to provide an answer to their mistaken ideas (if they are really interested in finding answers and resolution) and when answering them will just drive them deeper down the rabbit hole they've put themselves in and drag you in along with them. The key is determining if they are really looking for answers or if they are simply determined to prove themselves right and everyone else wrong.

Just a couple of observations from the point of view of a former Anglican priest and theologian. While I agree in general with your comments, some further biblical scholarship might help here. For example, most scholars don't think that Paul wrote the letters to Timothy, and the authorship of Ephesians is a bit doubtful. John's gospel was written long after Paul was dead, so you probably can't use that as an example of how Paul contradicts Jesus. There's probably not much in John's gospel that can actually be attributed to Jesus, although some would try to argue that there is, of course. When I was in theological college and afterwards, we would always refer to 'Pauline Christianity' as something distinct from what was in the synoptic gospels, because it was generally recognised that Paul's teaching was different.

According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders: DSM-IV, women are 200% more likely to experience conversion psychosis. Paul doesn’t really fit the bill. Furthermore, researchers have estimated the number of patients with ongoing symptoms of conversion disorder to be 2 to 5 individuals per every 100,000 patients per year. Given the rarity of the condition, we would need strong evidence to demonstrate that this is really the case.
The speculation of the epileptic seizure. The problem with this theory is that complex visual hallucinations related to epilepsy are incredibly rare in adults. Adults who are affected by these things typically experience them as children first. The age of onset for epilepsy is generally either in childhood or from the age 60 onwards. Paul would’ve been outside of these age ranges.
Furthermore, adults and children who hallucinate during seizures are in the minority. It’s critical to differentiate between things like blindness, flashing lights, and foggy vision from things like hallucinating a talking person. Some medical literature calls both of those things hallucinations, but clearly the latter is much less common than the former. In other words, we’re talking about a rare symptom of a rare disorder presenting at an anomalous age. In addition, the specificity of the apostle Paul’s vision doesn’t match typical hallucinations which tend to be far more random. In the case of Paul, he saw the despised Jesus, in glory, rebuking and commissioning him.
Also, Paul’s temporary blindness was also unlikely to be related to epilepsy. This is because ictal blindness is most often observed in children and is very rare in adults unless they have symptomatic epilepsy, where the cause is known. That is not accounted for in the biblical story, and it would not last for three days.
Moreover, severe bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, psychotic breaks, and so forth seem incompatible with a well-educated, intelligent person in a leadership position traveling throughout the Greco-Roman world, planting churches.

Those mentioned in the qur'an could just as easily have been referring to Paul when they pointed out, "you follow nought but madmen and liars".
I heard some doctor on a radio programme saying that they were pretty confident in being able to diagnose, if not exactly what happened to Saul/Paul, but a ballpark type of seizure.

Jesus was not saying that everyone should be married. Context. We have to consider other verses where Jesus encouraged celibacy..."some make themselves Eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven". Thats same thing that Paul was saying. Jesus and Paul expressed the value of celibacy...but they both promoted marriage for the masses.

Jesus didn't encourage celibacy. His comments about Eunuchs was in response to his disciples saying it was better not to marry after he talked to them about a spiritual view of divorce. He actually made the comment about Eunuchs to dissuade his disciples from considering not getting married.

When Jesus said "It is finished," that was the end, period. There was no more dialogue, no more words that needed to be said. Paul adds to the already completed Gospels. And, YES, the Gospels predate Paul because there is no way established churches were in place unless the Gospels existed as the root. The fact majority of Christian "scholars" claim Paul's works are older than the Gospels is disgusting and offensive. Paul was a false prophet and it is clear even to me, an agnostic, that that Christians are much more influenced by Paul than Jesus because of it.

But I thought the Roman Catholics based it on Peter ("Upon this rock [Cephas, or "Peter"] I will build my church). Thereby claiming Peter as the first Pope. I sat through a 7 night course on the New Testament back in the 1980s by Ray VanderLaan (who has traveled to The Holy Land) and did a ton of research. I seem to recall his opinion was it was NOT Peter Jesus was referring to. I wish I had kept all the documentation we were given at the course.

Some individuals state that the Apostle Paul’s teachings had no bases since Jesus didn’t teach what Paul spoke about in him. It was Paul who deified Jesus. Paul nullified the Law as circumcision and eating of uncleaned food. Paul started churches instead of synagogues. He was one who made a distinction between Jews and Gentiles.
As to the assertion that Jesus never claimed to be God, here is something for one to consider. Jesus declared that he is the Lord of the Sabbath. Since the Sabbath was established by God, no man can say that he is the Lord of the Sabbath. That would be consider blasphemy and yet Jesus made that assertion. If he was not God, he can’t say that he is the Lord of the Sabbath. Jesus appearance on earth was not to prove his deity but to redeem mankind. In his humility as man, one can see/perceive that he was more than a man. He states that whatever the Father is doing, he does exactly what the Father wants. What man can say that? He states that he has ascended and descended from heaven? What man can say that? Paul recognized that Jesus is God for Stephen testified that he saw Jesus at the right hand of God. The Apostle Paul can not deify anyone who is not already God. That would be heresy if Jesus was not God. I can go on but one if reads the Gospel, the Apostle Paul didn’t exceed the teachings of Jesus.
