Lovely little tune that. Maybe not up there enough to be number seven on any specific album playlist, but melodic and artistically creative all the same. Not having seen him live since the 90s, has this Jem been a consistent part of his live repertoire since the Ultra Zone/Live in an Ultra World days, or is it rolled out every now and then? Either way, a welcome upload indeed.
@@rub800 Ok, 'Gem' is usually used to describe something valuable or desirable whereas 'Jem' is the name of Steve Vai's Ibanez guitars. My confusion was based on the use of English language and Ibanez properties.
I know it's not his most complex or complicated song but it will always be my favorite. Thanks for a new upload of it!

Seems that this song hasn't been played since the Live at Astoria era (2003), more has been brought back for this tour
@@rub800 No that JEM is a new addition to this tours live rig. It's his latest PIA range and there's 4 of them. White, Black,Pink and Green.

Donati played this way better. This was just a jam such session. Still a fun song but missed the main themes.
