I didn't understand that, either. They were headed in a certain direction and he continued to head in that direction in the animation. Also, the friend got back to civilization weeks before he did, so obviously he headed back. Weird. [ETA: This isn't the first time The Infographics Show has said something contradictory to what the animation showed or that made no sense. This is the first vid I've watched in probably 2 years because of it. It's annoying. They need to get the facts straight & quit saying confusing & contradictory things!]

Thank you so much for uploading this. I have 2 weeks of horror waiting for me, starting tomorrow. In the last few months, every single day, I spent mostly in fear of what is coming for me. And there is this 20-something college-kid surviving THIS for 1.5 months only by strength of mind and 2 chocolate-bars? WHAT? I'm more than twice this guy's age and I can learn so much from him! I will meditate on what he went through every possible moment my mere two weeks of torture will let me.

I am from Pokhara, Nepal. During the winter season It's so cold up in the Himalayas, even the locals migrate down here. If someone gets lost in the mountains during winter, there is very little chance of survival. It was a miracle James survived.
