Replacing the Xfinity Gateway Router Modem (How to instructions, Comcast)

In this video we explain in step-by-step instructions, how to replace your old Xfinity Gateway modem / router with the lates model. This also includes the necessary actions, which we need to perform in the Xfinity app, in order to activate the new gateway.
We received the new Xfinity gate by mail, and it comes with the power supply and a coax cable. In case we are replacing an older gateway, then we can simply reuse the exist coax cable and do not need the new one.
Make sure to install the Xfinity app on your phone (available for iPhone and Android), and log in with your personal account credentials.
The entire process takes about 20 minutes and it usually includes a firmware update of the new Gateway. The gateway performs this update automatically, without user interaction. We just have to wait for the process to complete. Make sure not to disconnect the gateway during this process.

Thanks for posting this video! I just received this new router/modem and tried installing it but was not getting a signal. Definitely need the new app, I was using the old one and it wasn't working. Your step by step tutorial was more helpful than anything Xfinity could do. One thing that I found odd was when I used the newly supplied coax cable, it wasn't working, so I went back to the old coax and that worked fine.

During the replacement, was there an option within the app to keep the existing WiFi settings (WiFi name and password) and put on new router? This way, I don’t have to reconnect all the devices to the new router.

No Video I have watched has said anything about when the installer put in my service my Mac mini suddenly had no networking options it's wifi only the installer left me with no passwords info setting info or documented info about how to get assistance.

Yes unless you have a television connected then you need a splitter to connect both devices

My problem is that when I connect a Bluetooth headphone and select the same headphone for both output and input voice, only the voice input works in the game, and the output doesn't. This means my laptop is unable to perform both tasks with the same headphone at the same time. (plz reply bro plz)
