So at 21:45, this happened because you already had capped speed. If RNG rolls in such a way that you wouldn't get any stat ups, the game usually checks up to another 3 times. This doesn't happen if one of your stats is already maxed, and wyvern lord's speed cap in FE6 is 23.
Lapis SWEEP! I also made her a wyvern rider in my run of engage but I built her to use the tomahawk instead of a lance. The funny part is I gave her the Roy ring and now here she is in FE6.

I wanna be honest and say that Engage Lapis gets both too much hate and love. She is not a top tier but you don't need to suffer in order to make her effective, just go Wyvern and Canto since she can do it before chapter 18
I wanna be even more honest and say that while the twist was really cool, putting TS music is even cooler, the ost of that game is beautiful
Wyvern isn’t really enough to fix her strength on its own. She’s gonna want an offensive skill if not two ( she can make 1 work if it’s specifically reprisal but that requires the second slot to be used on hold out anyway so no room for canter either way) just better off making her a hero with dual assist+ if you wanna use her much lower investment to make her quite useful. She’s notably one of the lowest investment units to get into chain attack bot build so that’s quite handy. You can also actually fit canter on her this way or other skills if desired since you only need 1 skill to give her a meaningful combat role this way.

Bruh as a lv10/1 wyvern she has the second highest str out of the unpromoted units, beaten only by Amber and a trained Loius/Etie on average/fixed
Dual assist sucks ass if you know how to actually build combat units
@@maverick5169 dual assist + builds are far from garbage especially when considering that it actually has some level of flexibility since you don’t have to use both skill slots to increase a unit’s damage like say for example mage knights which need both speed taker and sword power max typically for example. What’s more having that level of chip from just a few heros eases the burden of combat needed for all your other builds. With a few heros those mage knights can consider things like canter hold out + ect ect. A build that needs both skills to be combat skills to meet needed thresholds isn’t exactly great. Just a few can ease the burdens of stats needed which allows you to consider flexibity with one of your skill slots or perhaps bulk rather then needing both skills for offense. Especially in lineups with halberdiers which can be a solid option for high strength low speed units to still double and thus improve their combat but since the vast majority of engage’s cast has noodle arms normally you just can’t afford not to double up on combat skills and meat maddening benchmarks. Hold out can be great because a guarantee to survive one hit means you don’t necessarily need to kill every enemy before they get a chance to attack your frailer units. A few heros lower those damage benchmarks to a more reasonable level to consider just 1 combat skill which lets you actually consider the defensive and utility skills. Might not necessarily be the best possible build for the best units but chain attack bot hero is actually good even on a unit with bad stats. It’s value Is relatively consistent so even garbage units get a decent amount of contribution if they do 0x2 when in combat. A chain attack bot hero is effectively trading a unit slot for a skill slot on everyone as its contribution to combat when triggered is roughly on the level of the value you’d get from adding another combat skill to a unit. There’s a lot of flexibility to be gained on your other units from this. Yes having a full squad of units with good combat is typically better but especially on high deploy limit maps it’s not bad to have especially with how they don’t need training so it also allows your other characters more levels.

@@maverick5169 basically a smal portion of your lineup being one or maybe two chain hero means the other units can have canter or hold out or perhaps other skills from dlc emblems like quick riposte where as otherwise most units when built for combat need both their skill slots to be combat skills ( barring cases like Lyn on a magic damage build covering up the need for speed taker so you can just have sword power or a Physical unit having erika so they don’t need lunar bracer). The contribution of chain attack bots is allowing the other units to be better both more flexible since the thresholds needed for stats is lowered with a backup attack’s consistent percentage of enemy damage and also bulkier when considering that a chain attack bot doesn’t need stats to do their job so the other members can get the kills the unit in that slot would normally take up. When you have only 2 skill slots opening up another one for all your combat units can be massive especially so on high deployment maps.

Lapis is pretty much a hard carry in engage. Y'all just using her wrong.
She always seems to fall off due to bad strength growth. She's just not competitive with the Panette's and Kagetsu's and so on. She usually still makes the cut into my deploy team but she's usually on Byleth to Godess Dance and support with damage.
@@eustacemcgoodboy9702panette and kagetsu are on completely different levels. Most units need either speed or power fixing, Kagetsu needs neither and Panette needs small speed fixing. Lapis needs power fixing which is a much easier thing than speed, multiple emblems give strength, reforging, skills and reclassing can all fix this. Yeah she isn't top tier but she isn't all that bad either
@@cryguy0000 She's my favorite female character. My waifu. I give her my pact ring and she grows and cooks potatoes for me the rest of my life. But she's just mid tier as far as units go. Next play thru I am going all in on her, giving her almost all my stat boosts and feeding her. I wonder what class? Probably Wyvern Knight but she'd make a respectable Great Knight.
