    This has to be very difficult to cool during summer months. Where do the air conditioning equipment and duct work can be installed. I do hvac for a living that is why I ask, I don’t see any room in the design for it and installing mini splits would be expensive. They definitely make a great garage.

    • @Volundur9567
      @Volundur9567 Год назад +1

      Quonset huts can actually be very eco-friendly. The geometry and proper insulation can let it stay cooler in the Summer and warmer in the Winter. It comes down to materials used.

    • @Zelaznogsiul-63

      @@Volundur9567 thank you for the answer. Do you know how can it be insulated properly? I am curious it could be my next house when I retire if I can make it energy efficient.

    • @CleverModerns
      @CleverModerns  Год назад +1

      Plywood always makes a nice ceiling on the arch, you can drywall it but it’s more work, and some people like corrugated metal which works well and has an industrial vibe. There’s lots of options. Plywood by itself has many many different types.

      @@CleverModerns but would a ceiling joists needed to be added? Cosindering the hut in itself is structurally secure.

      This is how the client I originally developed this for wanted it. There is a huge closet upstairs next to the bath that you could easily take space from and have a bathtub if you wanted one.

    I like it, but I have a few issues about kitchens... A sink has got to be under a window. Nothing worse than standing over a hot sink with no cool breeze or view to look out over. Also, at some point they started putting dishwashers on the right side. If you're washing dishes, your hands are soapy. So every time you need to put a cleanish dish in the dishwasher you're dripping (soap or even water) into the dry clean dishwasher. Not that there even is a dishwasher in this... Just my two cents. I haven't seen all your plans, but if you could design a "cheapz" one for us that can't afford all the construction costs, labor, etc, that would be great. Thanks.

    • @ProspectiveBuyer-ji3qx
      @ProspectiveBuyer-ji3qx Год назад +1

      Seriously disagree, at least for those of us that are right handed. Rinse the dish and place directly into the dishwasher. If the dishwasher is on the left side of the sink, you still rinse with the item in your right hand but now you have to rotate around to get to the dishwasher and then rotate back to the sink. Great waste of time and energy to do something that we all would prefer not to be doing at all. I wouldn't lose sleep over the dishwasher getting a bit of soap or water in it. It knew this was going to happen and the fact that it decided not to become a stove instead is proof enough.😄
