This has to be very difficult to cool during summer months. Where do the air conditioning equipment and duct work can be installed. I do hvac for a living that is why I ask, I don’t see any room in the design for it and installing mini splits would be expensive. They definitely make a great garage.
Quonset huts can actually be very eco-friendly. The geometry and proper insulation can let it stay cooler in the Summer and warmer in the Winter. It comes down to materials used.
@@Volundur9567 thank you for the answer. Do you know how can it be insulated properly? I am curious it could be my next house when I retire if I can make it energy efficient.
Plywood always makes a nice ceiling on the arch, you can drywall it but it’s more work, and some people like corrugated metal which works well and has an industrial vibe. There’s lots of options. Plywood by itself has many many different types.
This is how the client I originally developed this for wanted it. There is a huge closet upstairs next to the bath that you could easily take space from and have a bathtub if you wanted one.
Email me on earl@clevermoderns.com and we can get things going. It would be helpful if you mention in the email where your site is located (county and state is fine). I look forward to hearing from you.
I like it, but I have a few issues about kitchens... A sink has got to be under a window. Nothing worse than standing over a hot sink with no cool breeze or view to look out over. Also, at some point they started putting dishwashers on the right side. If you're washing dishes, your hands are soapy. So every time you need to put a cleanish dish in the dishwasher you're dripping (soap or even water) into the dry clean dishwasher. Not that there even is a dishwasher in this... Just my two cents. I haven't seen all your plans, but if you could design a "cheapz" one for us that can't afford all the construction costs, labor, etc, that would be great. Thanks.
Seriously disagree, at least for those of us that are right handed. Rinse the dish and place directly into the dishwasher. If the dishwasher is on the left side of the sink, you still rinse with the item in your right hand but now you have to rotate around to get to the dishwasher and then rotate back to the sink. Great waste of time and energy to do something that we all would prefer not to be doing at all. I wouldn't lose sleep over the dishwasher getting a bit of soap or water in it. It knew this was going to happen and the fact that it decided not to become a stove instead is proof enough.😄
Great to see you actively expanding options and new Designs
I can't believe this only has 870 views
It's truly amazing. Place very cool. I want
To build a quonset house

Me too!!!
This is my dream home! Thanks, Earl!

Beautiful video and beautiful design. I thought it was very funny that the beds weren’t made.
Love this house layout. It's so spacious.
Gorgeous work! And glad you are feeling better!!
So kind of you!
Very nice. I can imagine some vertical louver locations to allow more light through the volume.
How much does this cost to build ?
They come pre-built you just have to add everything else
More than you can afford - Ferrari.

love this design
Thank you! Cheers!
outstanding animation
Looks great!
Thanks Chris!!
Love this design! Just one question and might be a dumb one but how does the quonset home handle the northern AZ winters?
Handles it great with proper engineering and the right amount of closed cell spray foam insulation.
Have you done a video explaining proper water sealing?
What’s usually done for bedroom ceiling wise on a single story with multiple bedrooms?

@@CleverModerns but would a ceiling joists needed to be added? Cosindering the hut in itself is structurally secure.
@@blazehall8086 Yes and I’m planning a framing tutorial video.
But I wanted to see the pantry! 😉
What program did you use to make this? I like designing homes in my free time but the program I use is very basic
This was built in Rhino3D and rendered with Enscape.
Do you have any floor plans with 2 brdm 2 bath on ground floor. No loft or loft just for extra space. How many sqft. Cost?
This could easily become that with a little more length and second bath added downstairs.
I want one of these homes..so bad.
No bath in the Master Bath?

What would this cost to build in New England?
What is the cost of this model and design?
How do I get plans for this home?

This is awesome work! I hope to see more like this. I am looking to build something like in Marion County, Ocala, Florida.
Thank you for the kind words! I’m Florida licensed so pls be in touch.
Price pls
Nice❤❤
Can you build in Colorado?
I just saw a video on YT of one for sale. So, I guess it would depend upon the county. It was in Pine, CO.
@@lisaannwhite4080 Thank you, I’m going to search for that video.
What are the dimensions?
Very nice home, just curious about the shower, does it have a drain?

Only thing that is kind of awkward looking are those front sort of "stair-step" windows
