5:50 for anyone curious that Tent was designed and engineered so when there's a disaster (hurricane, earthquake, etc) and all the buildings are wiped out, emergency responding groups can rush there, inflate the tents and soak them to set the concrete and they'll have a secure protected area where they can do things like store food, create operating rooms, etc. without having to worry about finding a structure that survived or setting up a less reliable structure.

Living in a cave, or a stone dwelling is neat, and just plain smart because the stone acts as very efficient insulation.
My family and I lived in an old house that had stables, and chicken coops made of large limestone blocks. In the summer it was very cool in there, and warm in winter. I only wish the house would’ve been made of stone as well. 😊

Many urban apartments have only a single large window ... which is very much like living in a cave in terms of natural lighting. If the cave is equally dry and includes electricity and plumbing, it may have an advantage over the urban apartment because it is probably quieter (no neighborly noise coming through the walls).

When I was a kid, the house behind my family's was originally a 1950's Airstream trailer. The original owner just backed onto the empty lot and lived in it. As his family and needs grew, he built what are essentially lean who's onto the trailer. When I lived there, the trailer, with the license plate and working lights had been white washed. I wish I had appreciated it then. I never went inside, and I have one picture of our backyard where the trailer can be seen, but that was in the 60's. I think it's still there. Maybe I should go back again?

In the 70s my husband and l built a house out of 16 concrete stormwater drains. The mould was owned by a company which built the rectangular modules for the government as bridges and we had conduit fitted to take internal wiring before they were poured. It took a day to erect the two storey house, with a crane and then a flat metal roof was built over it all. We moved in three weeks later and had a wonderful family home. In case you’re wondering, the house is in South Australia.

I bought a Semi Trailer last year to store my product review items (I'm a former Vine Member) and we are in the process of starting the work to turn it into a livable home. It's in great shape and has electricity so it's the perfect project and this video has given me so many good ideas! My current home used to be a church so it's pretty neat but I can't wait to customize this trailer! I might buy another one or a couple shipping containers for an expansion. We are retired young enough to still have some fun now that our kids are grown with their own families & I can't wait to get started!
