    I loved reading from an employee at this airport that for several years after this movie came out people would yell "Serrano's got the disks!!!" "Serrano's got the disks!!!"

    One of the most underrated movies. Great performances all around - De niro, Farina, Grodin, Ashton, Kotto, Pantoliano, etc...Great cast that delivered great performances.

      @@johncgw4011 You answered your own question: It's a cult classic, which means its appreciated by a few. Don't get me wrong, it's a great movie, but it was released the same summer as Die Hard and didn't enjoy the same large audiences.

    This film was perfectly cast and I always liked how this scene ended without some dumbass Hollywood shoot out. It's a very smart film that deserves more recognition.

      That's even a very very special film by today and even 1988 standard. 1- No one gets killed ( at gun shot) 2. No love affair 3. No Sex scene 4. No female character beside Jack Walsh's ex-wife. ( i am not against female characters but just to point out that you don't necessarily need the (sexual)attraction of a female to make a good movie)

    Jack and Serrano don't even have dialogue with each other at all in the film until this point but when they start talking you can feel the natural chemistry as if they really did know each other back in Chicago. This movie is great

    Midnight Run was one of a chosen few that had legal permission from LAX legal counsel, FBI legal, and LA Port Authority legal, to film that scene inside of an actual airport terminal.
    It is an excellent film.

      Two airports ---- a later scene is filmed at LAX (Terminal 8, to be exact). But this scene is filmed at McCarren (LAS) in Vegas.
      The terminal map at 0:42 .... Terminal 1 still has that same gate set-up, 30 years+ later.

    Any movie that includes Yaphet Koto is guaranteed to be entertaining, well made, and somewhat odd. He is one of my favorite character actors, ever. Love his smile when he looks Serano in the face.

    Recently discovered this movie when I was searching for more 80's action movies I haven't seen, so I watched it and I loved it. This movie had fantastic acting, very funny, some good action, and the chemistry between Robert De Niro and Charles Grodin is excellent, these two made this movie a lot of fun. Highly recommended for anyone who hasn't seen it yet.

    One of my favorite climaxes in any film ever. The music is perfect. De Niro yelling at the camera in that wide shot is perfect. Just solidly directed, acted, written. And that’s what Midnight Run is. It’s no masterpiece. It’s just a solidly directed, acted, and written film. Don’t come across that all too often nowadays.

    Dennis Farina was a hell of a versatile actor. In this scene, as much as I consider DeNiro as a tough guy, here he seems genuinely intimidated by Farina's character. An awesome actor!

    The decision to have Marvin enter this climactic scene was just genius on so many levels: comedic, tense and even just to have him get in the way of Jack's plans one more time.

    From 4:31 on until a put 4:40 or so.... freeze it tap it quickly in a play/pause motion. It is literally AMAZING how the stuntmen/actors are able to move in sooooooo quickly with no one tripping or out of place. Credit director Martin Brest for an incredible well done choreographed scene!

    This certainly is one of my favorite films of all time. What makes it so is it's fantastic script and how is ties the comedy and drama together. This scene is so satisfying because it has the stakes high with suspense but still puts humor within. An excellent film

    This is probably the best comedy DiNiro ever made. OK I know what some of you are thinking but the King of Comedy was not actually a comedy and don't even say Meet the Parents or Analyze this. Great scene with so many good actors on top of their game, not one bad performance in this movie.

    There was a powerful sense of menace about Dennis Farina, you could easily forget he was acting ; tough, afraid of no one, and 100% sure of being top dog in any situation.
    I think the real Mafia would have hired him if he’d been of that inclination.

    The thing movies like this had back then - CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. A story was told where you cared about the person throughout the movie. Today? Not there.

    Dennis Farina is one of the few famous actors I've met in person. I also met Cheryl Ladd. They both visited our remote Army base in Saudi Arabia when we were stationed overseas just after 9-11. The USO flies them over. I had only seen him in "Get Shorty."

    A damn Shame dennis farina passed away...great actor in midnight run with De Niro. I always say, you can't have a great film without a great villain. A cool fact for all of you Dennis farina fans; he started off as a cop in Chicago before he got into show biz. He was In a lot of great films. I liked his role as a crooked casino owner in the movie Reindeer Games starring Ben affleck...

    A few years ago while checking in at the Southwest Airlines counter at McCarren airport I yelled "Soriano got the disk" many people laughed and one of the Southwest employees said that is one of favorite things passengers does at their check in counter.

    Love this movie watched it so many times as a kid. Every time I meet up with my brothers In Atlantic City we say Serranos Got The Discs!!! I also love how Farina signals to his guys to get the duke and he immediately drops a coin into the pay phone to make the call. You don’t see that anymore awesome !

    Dennis Farina, before he became an actor he was a Chicago Police officer in the burglary division, and prior joining the force ,he actually served in the U.S. Army.

    Shot when people could still smoke in airports, and security was more or less wide open to visitors. A totally lost era, goodbye, it was as good as this amazing film, which was amazing when it came out also. The screenwriter, director, and producer should all be proud. I'm sure the actors were.

    Farina was the business, how this fearless calibre of actor didnt rise to dizzier heights in Hollywood is a mystery to me. Consummate actor, streetwise, and yet surprisingly eloquent, and here making DeNiro like look hes still at school, the best, and was blessed, RIP.

    Wow! From 4:30 to 4:32, De Niro covered about 25ft of distance to his right, whilst going to the other direction. Chain smoking, cant prevent an olympic level athlete after all.

    Thankyou Dreamwolf for a. A Fantastic name and b. Capturing one of my favourite scenes in the movies. I don't know why, but this is almost important to me as the speech written by Rutgear Hauher the actor who played Batty in Batty's death scene in Blade Runner - "attack ships on fire" etc. No idea why. All I know is that I can watch most of midnight run in my head & still enjoy it when its replayed on video. Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou for this!

    Dennis Farnia can go from a extremely serious violent killer mobster in this movie.
    To a very hilarious ridiculous violent killer mobster in Get Shorty.
    Both parts played brilliantly.
