I mentioned with some guys in a game that they might be doing this so that when PVP is reintroduced, there will be more and more people that want to use different strats instead of just using Accel. It’s gotten to the point where Golden Mini could be a similar or equal pick because while it isn’t as good with base dps, they are better with placement limits, cheapness, and their utilization of Call to Arms. It makes it so that having a Mini as your main dps isn’t a bad thing.

Ong, I did debate on a guy in the discord server about this and I think the same now that I am grinding for phantom minigunner contract.
So I did the math aaaaand
Level 2: 32.75 dps
Level 3: 53.38 dps
Level 4: 147.05 dps
All other levels should be the same

Dang, the dps went down quite a bit, but i think it is still a good tower, but i think they were trying to make it less worth the grind for accel.
Making the last upgrade having a less cooldonw and more damage can make more deserve

6 max level will make the same as a maxed farm and if they reload 8 times it makes more than 8 farms

Honestly, I think the new accelerator got slightly worse because of it's expense. But like I said, slightly, It's tick speed it perfect and this makes it around exactly the same tier of the golden-minigunner, making them an amazing duo! Thanks for the video, Corso! Accel by a long shot, it just beats mid and late game way harder than engi, engi isnt even that great at early game where accel cant even be afforded

Ngl I would not say if this tower is nerfed it has some pretty good buffs with it and overall it’s very good

Just to add I used 8 max leveled accels with DJ and frost blaster and glad and still lost on U-turn I did micro I still lost with the final boss having 50K health.
After wikiacolors yapping about nerfing accelerator in pizza party update, accelerator went from "ok, is good where it is" to a "nightmare for balance team", even with a full rework (even if people are asking about engineer buff/rework to get worth the hard grinding and is never happening) 💀.

For its targeting, placement limit and it’s unreliability with the ammo I prefer golden mini more than accel
That is if you play solo or duo, it's not worth it in trio and quad.
I think this is really interesting as we will need to rely on more towers to get past the mid-game instead of just placing down Accelerators and shred everything after this nerf. Personally I like that because it give you a reason to place towers more strategically and bring some other support towers as well to keep the faster enemies in the Accelerator's range for longer or some other things that I didn't think of.
Overall, the nerf give me a reason to strategize more, bring more support towers and use a variety of towers before the final upgrade :3

I really don't understand these accelerator nerfs in the past years, I get that it used to be too good but they should have a good reason like changing the meta but all i see is endgame towers getting nerfed and early-mid game twoers getting buffed
It's literally the point people always still use just accelerator as their main dps and gives other dps towers feel more worth it. But at the end of the day they still need to buff other towers cause it makes no sense engineer being more expensive is a worse tower than it

You are not bringing gmini to a squad, it is only better on solo, the real debate is what to bring on duo
accel is broken before the nerf, level 0~4 are the best dps for mid and late game, and it is way cheaper than engi
It is balanced, not ruined. It still dominates other dps towers in terms of value
If you thought this rebalance ruined the tower, go check on the nerf that happened on christmas 2022

This is a minor yet not to bad annoyance
I love seeing people immediately jumping the gun and saying "RIP Accel" like he got blasted with the most ungodly nerf of all time or something. Of course he's still gonna be good. Why would they completely destroy the strongest DPS tower without compensating for any one of the other DPS towers (engineer) and giving them a buff instead?
There's too much math involved in this and I don't get it. I suck at math but other than that great video!
Conclusion:
- price increased at all lvls
- decreased 5 dmg each lvl (except lvl 0 and 1)
- decreased ammo capacity (lvl 1 to 4, but lvl 5 increased from 3000 to 3600)
- old accel did 3k dmg in 6 seconds, the new one did 3k dmg in 6.666667 seconds
- its value -17% means that its cost per dps increased
When I saw 27 seconds ago and not 4 days ago😭
Honestly quite depressing for some reason because i havent gotten accel
before i could solo pizza party easily, but now its impossible for me after accel got nerfed

Honestly this NERF for the accelerator feels more like a trade offer the accelerator deals less damage and it is not reliable on mid game and need support from any other Tower but the accelerator battery charge is longer so pretty much it is not a good for mid game but it is still good at late game and you will use like more towers to support the accelerator so this NERF or trade offer feels like more a welcome change

Honestly? I think its a nerf well-deserved. A underedressed issue i see in tds is that with good eco, late game towers become mid-late game towers and makes towers specialised in mid game potential even more obselete than they already are
