G'day guys in this video we show how to set up an XY toploader shifter and linkages.
We also show how to run a Toploader gearbox through the gears and what selector is for what gear.

Great video guys ! Hey, is there any cross-swapping parts between toploaders and single rails? I am wondering if the close ratio toploader cluster gear could be swapped into a single rail ? Read somewhere that the SR4 is a bit of a "poor-man's toploader" ! 😂 Cheers🙏
Not that I know of mate, but they do make custom toploader gears so anything is possible.

If you have the FMX rebuild it they are a good strong box.
I’m ole skool 53 model and the information and tips are invaluable and after watching most of your other videos over and over again I was inspired to roll back the car cover of time on my beloved Xa hardtop. A new 400 ++ Black power plant is now sitting next to the coupe. My brother is on his way from Darwin with the tool box and we are gonna install and get her already but we are both getting a little concerned about initial cam running in with roller rockers, as I wasn’t really planning on getting this engine I have bitten off a little more than what I planned. Any how I was hoping to get in touch to talk about a getting it sorted, I live North of Redcliffe and was hoping to get in touch and have a chat utilising your skills. Okay cheers mate Eden.

Hi guys watch a lot of your videos could you pls help, what adapter do u need putting a c4 into a car with electronic dash board, Don't have the speedo drive that goes into the box that converts to be electronic, Where would I start looking it's a xf car ,Thanks Michael
It’s called an electronic speedo transducer they still sell them new if you look around online mate
Where do you guys recommend getting a renagate sequential Toploader shifter rebuilt?
We have one but haven’t used it yet, if they sell a kit for it we could probably help.

Just bought a Toploader and has slight input shaft play, is this something to worry about
Most input shafts feel unstable if you grab it by hand and wobble as long as it’s not notchy when you turn it it should be ok the pilot bearing holds it central
Off topic...I'm putting in a new cam and springs in my "m" vin 1971 Cleveland. Do you know if I can put in dual springs on stock heads? I have the spring specs. They are springs with a damper.
The dampener will suit the stock head but a double valve spring needs the valve seat re machined and you need to modify the type of valve stem seal to Viton to clear.
@@thebrisbanebrothers8332 thanks! I will be using those seals. The springs come with single keepers. I'm not changing valves and have stock multi groove. Guess on using old keepers and new retainers working?
Make sure the angles match and keep an eye on the installed height you should be fine
Tearing into the engine. It had a pan gasket and gobs of rtv. No other gaskets. Normal? I have an Edelbrock Performer 4v
Second question. I could leave the stock springs for break in. Is that over cautious? The new springs are around 25 more seated and 50+ lbs open than stock.

Neutral is only if it’s out of gear, if it’s stuck in gear watch out how to adjust linkages video and see if it’s slipped or worn 👌
