Many thanks Smitha for getting Gen VK Singh. Amazing personality and a highly competent officer and now a Minister. In fact, he should have been made a Cabinet Minister in 2019 but anyway, hopefully , he will be one in 2024! 2. Now we know the real story behind the so called coup attempt from the horse's mouth! Hats off to him! Shekhar definitely was wrong in doing that story. I hope Shekhar once apologizes to VK and to the country for the grave error he committed. 3. His age was an unnecessary issue but he suffered because of it. Very sad story! 4. TSD saga is clarified too. Another painful episode during his time. 5. After 1971, India should have handed over Pakistani Army to Mukti Bahani and let it take care of their enemy! Indira made a huge strategic mistake. 6. On Chinese transgression, it is indeed a proud moment to hear the story of this young captain! 7. Finally, a big salute to the General!!!

@@justwatching8395 UPA under Sonia Gandhi (2004-14) was the most corrupt govt in Indian history. Even depts reporting directly to PM Dr Singh (eg Coal) were involved in corruption, as per CAG.
Gen VK Singh was a hurdle in corruption in Defence (he pulled up Sukna & Adarsh Scams, the Tatra Bribery Scandal, etc). So, Govt tried to make him retire using a false DOB.
To destroy his credibility, Shekhar Gupta & Indian Express under orders from Congress, published a story accusing him of staging a coup. They said that tanks were sent from Hisar & Agra to overthrow Govt, and Delhi Police stopped them. (Just imagine if Delhi Police can even dare to think of stopping Indian Army's tanks - that itself is a joke of how weak the story was.)
Then Congress-affiliated judges in Supreme Court told to Gen VK Singh that although he is right, but he should still take the case back to avoid any controversy. So, Court accepted he is right, but still in a way punished him!

Thank you for the interesting and insightful discussion. General Singh's valour and patriotism is to be admired. While discussing his work , in particular in the Northern borders, he seems to have a free flow of thoughts and facts and was quite enthusiastic. However when questioned about SL it was not the same. The IPKF, contrary to the claim was not popular with the local Tamils. Many innocent civilians died and the indian Army was called the Innocent People Killing Force. Regrettably the IPKF also suffered a heavy loss including officers.

The style of Ms Smita Prakash conducting the sessions are quite pleasant and congenial. She prefers to treat the sessions as a means of information for the general public and not as an interrogation. By confrontation and creating a toxic atmosphere, nothing is going to be achieved other than scoring some ego satisfaction for the interviewer. Ms Smita Prakash is gentle with the invited guests while not holding back on any difficult questions or controversies. She is generous to the guest and allows him to have his say. She expects the audience to think and come to their own conclusions; does not try to influence anyone with her own analysis or thinking.

Smita ji, road Accident is a good topic. Indian's mindset is we want to do everything in Hurry. As a parent, we fill proud and happy when a 10 yrs old kid rides a scooter and does small work in the neighborhood. and the rule-breaking attitude starts from there. we have to take responsibility as good and law-abiding citizens. not to let the child touches your cars and scooters under the right age and obtain the licenses.
